Conan Exiles - Crush Your Enemies, See them driven before you!

Wow! That's huge and changes things around...

Looks like i'm making a trip west sometime this weekend.

So, playing during lunch... remember that notice about dying in water?

That also applies to dying in midair during a sandstorm.

I was running to my shelter as the sand storm came in and accidently jumped off.

Even after building steps up to that point i wasn't able to loot.

Yeah I’ve started playing solo again and it appears to still need a few patches.

I’ll second the great base location by the pirate ship. Somehow I was able to make it all the way up there without dying and have just started laying the foundations for my first citadel. Lots of good stuff all a short distance away. I’ve got to trek a little for water and wood, but it’s not too far.

Is the server up?

It was as of 2 hours ago

Yeah my base is pretty close to the pillar. Getting the map room built is gonna take some effort if you’ve got to venture into the city. That and a couple of dancers.

Map Room:

So it requires corrupted stone (200) to build.

corrupted stone: 2 stone, 1 ichor, 1 demon blood

You get demon blood from the BIG stone creature. Not sure what else. With the hatchet i got 4 demon blood when i killed it. Not sure what a skinning knife will gain you.

Mine is close to a pillar as well... it will save time transfering stuff from my current place to a spot up north when its finished.

I did just make it back from there... there's one of the rock demons near the entrance. I used the stairs to take advantage and downed it. WIth a skinning knife i got 10 blood.

I also stopped at the elephant plains area and took down 3 elephants one of them the super large ones. That gave me 98 elephant hide and 39 thick hide. I forget what the hide processes into, but i think it's 3-5 per hide type.

Thing is even with my encumbrance as my highest stat putting on 3 or more heavy armor pieces is too much of a burden right now. So when i recraft my new pieces it will only be for 2 heavy pieces at the moment.

Hmmm... Not a huge fan of the combat system. There's little feedback on strikes and blocks, so timing is more difficult than it would seem. I need to get used to that.

The hit boxes can be a little overly precise considering it seems you do combo moves all over the place

There is a lock on target key that helps with that. Don't recommend when fighting multiple enemies.

Wha... really! Guess I need to scan the controls and hotkeys

Holy sh*t! Get dancers as quick as possible! They now give a life regen bonus. If you're out of combat for like 30 seconds you regen back to full at a fast rate!!

Edit: I must have been lucky with a bug of some sort. I went to gather more thralls at the pirate ship and fell off and went splat. When i came back everything was back to normal.

Really not sure what happened. I made honey and potions at my altar and made some exoctic meat foods on my stove. Crafted and equipped a sandstorm mask. Other than that it was just gathering and fighting. Bummer back to growing and collecting aloe by the bushels!

Sorry if mentioned before, are you guys doing PVE or PVP?

Server would be considered a PVE-Conflict server. There's pvp but only during specific times. Currently building destruction is turned off but i could be convinced to turn it on if others were interested.

So what's everyone's opinion on bark?

Bark tends to slow down your 2nd+ tier progression. You need large quantities of tar to make steel which is a byproduct of processing hides into leather. Which requires bark. You now also have to use bark to dry items which are needed for high end food items.

We used to have a mod that gave people more bark when using iron+ tools on the EA server. It seems that's now defunct.

There's a couple out there that allow you to break wood down to sticks and sticks down to bark. Manually and at a crafting station.

If you do some mods, they used to sometimes be difficult to implement - hopefully they’ve improved the implementation of them. I don’t have any issues but I usually pick axe all my trees for wood

I only do it when farming for bark or trying get a few more pieces of wood for a set of building pieces. Otherwise i use the axe. With the pick you get half the number of wood. When i get up to the all purpose tool i'll see what happens then.

Few things i've noticed.

Wells seem bugged. I've built 2 now and neither one has filled up even once. First one has been two days now.

Bearer Thralls. Once trained you can equip their pack as a headpiece and it increases your encumbrance stat. (+9 with a t2 thrall)

Insulated wood. Requires Dry wood and Resin. Dry wood is scattered all over the desert while the only place i've seen resin is from cutting down trees in the north.

Thanks for the info on where to build guys. @Ranalin - Instead of a well, get the upgraded Mithra Shrine, which allows you to build a statue cheaply that gives water. The upgrade isn't cheap, but from all accounts, they are neccesary down the road for benefits they give.

Anyone done Dregs? I tried to solo it, but got stuck in a ditch, unable to get up. It was pitch black, and I was likely to be eaten by a grue, and couldn't see any way out.

How do you learn that religion now? I'm right next to the Pirate Queen and she no longer has the option to learn it.

There is a lake area, up north, with an oasis - There a priestess of Mithra will teach you the religion.
Its still in the desert area, just in the north-east of the large Nameless City

I ran across the location scouting. I didn't go in. I did watch a video and while the boss seems relatively easy i don't think i could survive it right now and i just hit 40.

Do you mean the Dregs? Because the oasis has no boss- well, there is a giant..well, I won't spoil it,but its easiy avoidable

As for level, I think I'll wait to around level 60 to do all the dungeon locations myself as well.

That puts the mitran up by me? Nice. I got the yog religion now - farming bone isn’t quite like it used to be though but I need as many Rogen options as I can get

yea quoted the wrong thing... meant the dregs.

Speaking of things not said... i decided to fight it. I was taking the normal ones down real easy and figured why not and use the worshipers as distractions.

I was standing on the altar and that thing one shot me into oblivion. It showed my corpse way up north. I lost everything. Again. Wasn't worried about the gear as much as i was the 100+ exotic meats and ~50 aloe and seeds.

I'm playing solo on easy mode. I've decided that dying is the easiest way to fast travel between a bedroll and my bed.

So even though the cannibal dude told me to take the yellow lotus, all it does is respec? Is that right?

Yes, it respecs.

So learned some things.

When you have thralls in place (specifically combat ones) and you then create a guild. They all become violent and will attack you. Come to find out that a server reset will fix the issue. I didn't know this beforehand so put them all down.

So anyone that wants to join the clan i have a handful of extra bows and weapons (ancient bow and cutlasses) available.
edit: You don't have to join the clan to get these. Let me know and i'll bring them to you. Just can't get in without being attacked unless you're tagged.

Also setting up a guild seemed to reset my purge meter. So i think i'm going to work on gathering demon blood again and building a map room. Once that's done i'll move north. I was near 50% before this and was working on militarizing my place with the thralls to survive it.

The server is set up to restart at 5:00am EST, but for some reason it's been also restarting at 6:25pm EST.

Count me in - I’m just getting started building mine up north. Right now I have a mess but I’ll be working on cleaning it up over the next two days as I ramp up T2 building supplies

So many things I'm yet clueless about... Purge, Thralls, interesting locations and more. I'm currently about level 18 and have a little base set up in the desert. Just a 2x3 hut and a bunch of crafting stations next to it (have a Furnace, Blacksmith Table, Alchemy bench, campfire, and last build before logging off last night was Set's altar, no idea what it's used for yet.
Oh and I built a small planter and put seeds and a compost pile in it, but nothing happened so that must not be right
