I suspect Outbreak is going to either come back on a frequent basis, or come back permanently.

Or, there's a third option: it becomes a spin-off title. Ubisoft continues to insist that there is no Siege sequel coming in the foreseeable future, which is wise, for the same reason there won't be a CS:GO 2 anytime soon.

Outbreak growing into a standalone title would give them another full game to sell, using the engine tech they continue to develop on for Siege.

I'm not sure it will end up going that far. But I virtually guarantee that the discussion about the possibility has occurred.

Good points, and I agree. I haven't played the game type yet and am looking forward to it. I am also looking forward to jumping back into RB6 but I think this time, I will stick to one character and learn the maps first.

I really should hit this up again.

No room on my SSD though, maybe I'll buy a new one.

I'm reinstalling without the HD pack this time around...

Had a great moment where I trapped two people as Montagne in a small room. My teammate grabbed the hostage while they were stuck. Was hilarious.

Ok, going to get the ball rolling on this. Setting up a room every Tues and Thurs, 9:30pm EST. Join if you can!

I'm joined.

I will be able to start fresh next Tuesday I hope.

Same here - kids have been little jerks around bedtime

I would love to play but 930est is way too late for this old guy.

I'll try though!

Yeah, I can't do 9:30 EST either...I have to get up for work on Friday.

Anyone interested in a Friday night game, maybe starting around 7 ET?

Sadly, I have kids that make it hard to play earlier. Unless tranquilizer darts have been legalized. But feel free to get an earlier group together!

If you try it, let me know the result as I may be tempted..

I might not be on tonight. Definitely back on Thursday.

@PWAlessi are you playing at 7 EST weekly? I will hop on twitch tonight and check. Hope to see you there!

I would also love to get a west coast group going. Playing at 9:30 EST during the week is tough for me as I am usually still at the office in PST.

If there is interest ping me and I will be happy to organize it! I have been playing siege solo for about 6 months and absolutely love this game. It would be great to get a GWJ community going!

Since I hadn't played much this season, I was unraked, with the season precariously close to ending.

Buckled down this weekend and got through my placement matches, and placed Gold 3.

This next season, I'll actually play ranked a lot more.

Are there any benefits to cranking through season placement at this point?

You get a charm of the highest rank you hit this season.

Also, rank placement in future seasons seems to heavily weigh your previous ranks. That's mainly why I didn't want to go unranked on the season.

Got it! Sorry - I didn't mean that sarcastically - I'm just new

It didn't read as sarcastic, at least not to me. The thing about placement weighing past ranks is non-obvious and has only ever really been explained in blog and/or Reddit posts, so it's not surprising for someone to not be aware of it.

I'm not even sure if going unranked would have impacted my placement weight next season, as I have a string of Gold-ranked season before then, but I didn't want to risk it.

I also in no way took it as Sarcastic.

As far as placements. I really don't think it matters much. I've now played for 3 seasons. First I ended silver1 . Second I ended plat 3. and Last season I ended Gold 1. This season I have not really played and placed Gold 4. However, every time I qualify I usually place in low gold. I am sure it matters some, but I do not think it is a huge thing.

I just remember the slog of placing low silver the very first time I did ranked, and the slog it took to get out of there when constantly paired with teammates that were pants-on-head. Top frag by a mile every game, but losing because I couldn't pull off 1v4 every round. Never again.

Wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't solo queuing.

Yeah, I didn't notice that much but the season I really had to do it was when I was just learning the game (started early year 2) so it was not so bad. I'll be on tonight if anyone wants to play normally place mid gold.

Siege hit a new all-time player count high on Steam following the Year 3 update release.

It's pretty firmly in 4th place in the Steam player counts, behind only PUBG, DOTA 2, and CS:GO.

I played a few rounds of the new coop event last night. It's fine but there is an overwhelming generic feel to everything about it. The opening film looks like they spent quite a lot of effort on it, it plays well and it looks good. There's quality right through it but I never got any feeling beyond 'it's good but I've done this 1000 times before'.

The Siegeiness doesn't really come through very strongly in this type of game. The character types and gadgets don't seem to matter that much. There are parts where you can reinforce for a siege but the horde type enemy doesn't give any of the heart-attack-inducing tension you get from the normal multiplayer.

I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. I like it and I'll play it a bit more (on xbox if you want to join). Someone mooted it might be the prelude to a stand alone release- I can't see that being more than a low price game or DLC from my experience so far.

I agree. Played a couple rounds last night and it was very 'meh', and yea, other games have done the same better. It does look good though!

Did play it on Normal. Anyone know if the next tier with friendly fire lasts longer or more engaging?

Yeah, I would agree the new mode is pretty meh. Would of rathered a new multiplayer map. The abilities of too many of the operators just don't sync well with it. Other than lord Tashank and the healers.

Still love the game but normal multiplayer is where it is at.

Same I beat two different missions and all I was thinking was it felt like a lesser version of left for dead. Fun and a nice distraction but the real fun is the normal game. Still it's free, so why not.

I expect this initial release of Outbreak is a proof of concept more than anything else. I think that's part of why it's a limited 1-month "event". It's gonna get iterated on further.

I like Outbreak if for no other reason than it's a better aiming warmup than T-Hunt. The monsters are moving targets, T-Hunt terrorists pretty much either stand still, or move slowly like Lemmings in a single-file line.

I really enjoyed it. Feels like L4D3.

Left for dead had weapon variety in both ranged and short. It even has melee combat. Better enemy variety, Better mission variety, Better location variety.

R6 mode has suually 2 base weapons and 1 side arm per character, abilities that are only sometimes useful (like what does ash's ability do in Zombie's).

Like i see similarities between the loading zones, basic concept. However, Left for Dead does so much better. Only thing R6 does well in zombie mode is graphics.

Again R6 for the normal game I think is amazing. I probably putt 20 hours in it last week with the NE snow storm.
