Man, I could just go on and on.

Damn, those times rocked.

Indeed. The album as a whole wasn't that good, but Annihilator's Alison Hell is a great, single, thrash song that I still enjoy to this day.

^^^ Nice cut. Thanks for the lead.

4- “The Gods will not save you.” (Use: Emphasizing others must take responsibility.)

Maybe reevaluate the use of #8. Maybe when a colleague's choices are worthy of respect even when you do not agree.

Valid, but I don't think Avon disagreed with Cutty's decision, it was simply one he could not himself make.

This list fails because of the lack of Brother Mouzone's "You know what the most dangerous thing in America is?" quote.

Left off because I am not of the proper demographic that can complete the quote.

At work, whenever I have to repeat myself, I find myself sending The Wire clips. Recently, I sent an engineer the Omar clip of him robbing the poker game where he says "son, you got me confused with someone who repeats himself", but have been known to send the "Lamar, where is my Harpers?" clip.

Mouzone has excellent magazine taste.

I find the No. 1 most useful The Wire quote to be Jay Landsman's jerk-off-motion combined with Bronx cheer.

I can't get over the longevity of that cursed IP... It's the goldenest of gooses for young kids but (for me at least) the least appealing Pixar property by a country mile. Halfway through the second movie you can almost hear Lasseter imploring the cast to hold on long enough to realise the infinite merchandising revenue. And the plot? A two-toned mess of ridiculous contrivances that goes way over the head of its younger audience and just confuses and annoys any adults present, but who cares because LIGHTNING MCQUEEN IS ON THE SCREEN AND MATER TURNS INTO AN ICECREAM TRUCK.

I hate Cars 2 so much.

Top three four responses to this post:

4. The order is a little off but I like their taste.
3. Is Zeldums the canon plural for Zelda?
2. My phone auto-corrects Zeldums to Zeldas; that's cool!

Ahead of Dragon Quest XI's release, a ranking of the main-line Dragon Quest series (I haven't played X):

9. Dragon Quest - Still playable, years later, and I think it holds up better than the original Final Fantasy does.
8. Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line - Introduced some really good and interesting elements, though it doesn't shine as brightly as any of the later games
7. Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past - There's a lot to like here, but the game's a messy kudzu plant, and Maribel is by far the worst character in any DQ game. Worse even than DQ V's Debora -- her spoiled demeanor makes more sense to me, and you can choose not to bring into your party.
6. Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride - I liked this game and it's willingness to take risks by splitting the narrative across generations, but did not find the story or characters nearly as compelling as in any of the following games.
5. Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation - I spent a decent chunk of my childhood playing this, as Dragon Warrior III, on my old NES. To me, this game evokes days coming home to check my mailbox and see if the latest Nintendo Power had arrived. I loved how this game pioneered character classes and gave you the option to change and grow, I loved traveling a map that looked strangely like a map of the world, and I loved the guy-behind-the-guy reveal after beating Baramos.
4. Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies - Loved this, especially after such a long main-line Dragon Quest drought. I think the gameplay was on point, and some of the best in the series, although to me the plot, and the absence of party members with their own stories, makes this one fall lower on the list than it would otherwise.
3. Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen - I remember a friend of mine owning this game, and I think he left it behind with me when he and his family moved away from my hometown. I loved it then, and I loved almost everything about it when they remade it for the DS, years later. All of the characters have such interesting stories behind them, and they all weave together so well -- and all of the chapters are interesting and fun! Playing through each from level 1 is a bit of a drag, but by the end of the game, reuniting with all of the other characters feels like finding old friends.
2. Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation - I think it's a huge shame that this game was not released outside of Japan until the DS remake. I found it on an emulator and played through almost all of it, and was so glad that I did. To me, the game really executes the storytelling well, the job system, with multiple tiers, is spectacular (although I wish it arrived earlier), and all of the overlapping characters and story between the two worlds was really rewarding to investigate -- it reminded me, in a very good way, of what I loved about the time-travel plots in Chrono Trigger. I also loved the concept behind the post-game content, the bigger bad who could help you wipe out the big bad, but why should he be bothered?
1. Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King - I could go on about this game for hours, but instead will just say "Ragazzo!"

I'm glad you this so. I wouldn't usually take the attitude of 'this new thing isn't like my old thing so I hate it', but in this case I think it's deserved.

I'm probably biased though, I'd imagine I could probably still recite most of that film from memory.

Lemme try:

"Obelisk, look! It's Unicron!"

I actually thought the first Bay-formers movie was OK and showed some potential for the series. But the second one was so awful that it reduced my enjoyment of the first and made me avoid the rest of the series.

But sometime soon we're getting a Bumblebee movie from the director of Laika and the Two Strings so I'm actually looking forward to that one.
