[News] Post a D&D Picture

Previous incarnations of Cleveland/P&C/D&D have had an image thread, to handle political cartoons and other image-based stuff that doesn't belong in the general post-a-picture threads.

If any of them spawn an extended discussion, please spawn it off into its own thread. Replies to non-picture replies should take the form of a link pointing to a post on a different discussion thread.

And I shouldn't have to say it, but the images still need to abide by the rules.

Help me out here, who is that under the helmet? Because it kind of looks like, Jeremy Clarkson??

Robert Mueller. Looks like the below image (though repositioned to fit the scene)

Nice. It does look like Clarkson. Also couldn't tell if they just put Trump. Under the helmet and in the visor. Muller makes more sense.

Ben Garrison is the worst.

Do people really think the FBI employees like 8 people and can only do one thing at a time?

I'd say no, but I think the president genuinely believes everything he says, and he's surrounded by toadys who are happy to repeat it.

Yes, that is insane. You can't buy a beer but you can buy a weapon of mass murder.

I have to laugh or I'll start either crying uncontrollably or fly into a murderous rage.

To be fair, there might not be any female math professors at the school.

EDIT: There are 5 (out of the 25 math faculty). One is an assistant prof; I couldn’t find the other four.

Ironic Women in Math Conference picture was here.

Apparently neither could they...

Even if you did have zero female Math Professors at the school you should then scrounge up some PhD students to run the session. If you can't do that either then maybe enticing more women to join what is almost definitely a super sh*tty and repulsive environment isn't for the best.

In the early 90s I did complain about representation in the math department at my college. I was in my last year, math major, and one of the professors had graphic anti abortion posters outside his door. I think there was one woman on tenure track at the time, but all my professors and TAs were men. I didn't even like walking down that hallway. Of course nothing was done. However when I've checked the department web page in recent years, there are definitely more women which is nice.

I can't believe all of those guns didn't protect him from that terrible burn.

Context?

Marco Rubio had a televised town hall event, but the audience ended up being made up largely of the survivors and parents of the victims of the most recent florida school shooting, and they proceeded to tear him a new one re: his resistance to gun control and the amount of financial support he has accepted from the NRA

He attended a town hall where a lot of victims and family members of the Parkland shooting asked him questions. Credit where credit is due, he had balls to go, but he really got pretty eviscerated.

Here is a link to the full town hall. And there are a lot of clips online. There are some really, really rough, powerful moments, like when Rubio refuses to meet the eye of a Father who asks him to admit that assault rifles were a factor in the shooting that saw his daughter shot in the back while fleeing. There were also some hilarious moments, like when Rubio was talking about how loopholes would make it impossible to reinstate an Assault Weapons ban

"It would get to the point where you would have to ban all semi-automatic rifles"

and then the entire auditorium broke out in cheering. He had to wait for the applause in support of what he meant to be a biting retort to die down.

Luckily for the NRA, 3m in campaign donations more than covers how owned he was.

Besides, we'll forget about it with the next new outrage, probably tomorrow.

Thanks.

Umm, there are guns everywhere in those places, especially recently. Unless you believe the Secret Service uses harsh language as their weapon of choice.

I think the point behind it is that they push for open and conceal carry everywhere but they are the first to ban attendees from carrying guns.

That was the best part.
