OMG!! (ESPN background music)

On Soulseek, I just found some music I have spent years (literally, years) looking for:

The background music used on NFL Primetime, as well as some songs that were used on ESPN around the early-mid '90s that really aren't very often anymore.

I have never found any evidence that this music was released in a purchasable format, ever. NFL Films stuff, yeah, plus a lot of "Jock Jams" junk, but not the background highlight music for NFL Primetime.

And it's not recorded off TV or anything. Completely pristine, complete tunes. No chatter on top.

Most are untitled, but a few carry titles. I turned around and put the titles in Google, and found a thread on a message board somewhere of ESPN fans using some "Production Music Online" website to find this music. Unbelievable. A couple people have songs that my find is lacking, so hopefully I can get my hands on those too.

Man. Now I really want to make a "highlight" video of some sort.

Not to mention I''m getting the 10 disc NFL Films music box set: ""Autumn Thunder"".

Aw..I thought this was some big NFL news....

Wow. Now that''s an addiction.

Backing... away... slowly...

If that collection comes with the ""DA-duh-DA! DA-duh-DA!"" of SportsCenter, I DEMAND you send it to me.

I have that. That''s not even hard to find - THAT has been released on at least one CD.

Perhaps I''ll torrent it all together or something, as others have PM''d me in interest as well.

I''m good friends with John Facenda''s grandson..

His voice is very similar..

I would kill to have the Facenda voice for a day.

Funniest thing I have ever heard in my life - ever - was an NFL Films ""behind the scenes"" show in which they showed outtakes of Facenda reading his lines - and messing up sometimes. The funny part would come when he''d curse or otherwise voice his frustration, which of course would be in the same ""Voice of God"" tone. Next time that airs on NFL Network, I''m copying it off my TiVO and burning a DVD.

yeah I''ve been to the family''s Pocono''s home and the Facenda shrine in the basement by the pool table and bar is incredible...

The guy knew everyone!

Facenda was the ""voice"" of football in my youth..watching the NFL films tapes on the Steeler and Cowboy teams of the 70''s was incredible stuff.

Oh and Legion you probably have the Super Bowl DVD Boxes are they any good? I''m assuming you just get the summary of the games and naturally not the entire game itself..

Are they still worth the $70 or so for each set?
