Into the Breach - The CURRENT game from the developers of FTL - Catch All

Pages

Still no release date but there is some good info on this game. FTL was a really good experience for me and while this game doesn't look like it's "FTL, but with Kaijus" I'm still excited to give it a try.

Definitely drumming up some excitement with me. I never beat FTL for all the hours I put into it but I still had a darn good time, and I'm willing to wager Into the Breach will deliver something similar while scratching that ol' GBA Turn-Based Strategy itch.

Was about to check if there was a catch all yet, and if not, create it
Looking forward to this one.

Thanks to the link to the preview. Definitely getting this game.

100+ hours of FTL. I'll definitely give whatever else they make a chance.

For some reason I've never actually played FTL even though I own it due to some Steam sale or other.

But pixel-art Pacific Rim/X-COM/Advance Wars? Yeah, sign me up.

Thanks for the link from the FTL thread, jrralls! I discovered this thread from there, and this is the first I've heard about Into the Breach.

I really like the idea of a tactical strategy game with very limited randomness! And from the folks behind FTL, which was a very smartly-designed game. I'll keep my eye out for this one!

I hadn't seen that particular gameplay snippet, it's looking a good bit like a puzzle game to me. I'm really excited, I love the theme, the presentation, and I adored FTL.

Would love to see it on Android!

The only down side for me is they seem to want it to have as little story as possible and I'm just a narrative junkie. The little snipettes in FTL were fine for me, but it sounds like they don't want even that.

Kind of hope this doesn't come out in 2018 as I'm trying to go the whole year without buying a game.

Hush you! I was ready to play this the moment I first learned about it. Open up the early access already!

You get that negativity out of here, sirrah!

Ohhh glad I caught this thread, I missed it originally! Favorited thread just to keep up with news. FTL was one of the very few games ever that I purchased more than once - both on Steam and on the iPad. I still pull it up every once in a while.

Tagging for future fun.

Release date revealed.

I'd kind of hoped it wouldn't come out this year....

I'll bite... why?

FTL Advanced Edition was released just under 4 years ago.

Great news! I'm so looking forward to this.

But I want it now! Can I just get it as Early Access?

I'm trying to not buy a single video game this year

Yay!

I kind of want it for Switch though. Like everything else.

So if I buy one for you, and you buy one for me, we keep both of our resolutions AND get early birthday presents!

Lol. The problem is it's not a money thing. Video games aren't a significant expense in my life; the issue was that I have a ton of games that I want to play yet I still keep buying the new shiny and not appreciating what I already have.

Preach it!

I have a switch and love it but I def wan't this pocket-able on my phone and maybe on my work PC. After FTL came out my work production might or might not have declined.

Sold! Looks awesome.

I was playing FTL yesterday in anticipation, I forgot what an excellent game it was. And those guys...behind a mecha game? I've been pining for more mecha games for so long!

Absolutely no doubt this will be a day-1 purchase for me. I'm counting down the hours!

PC GAMER review

93% is pretty good...

Got a 'recommended' from Eurogamer as well. Looks absolutely smashing. I think I can hold out for at least a Mac release, with Switch being a preferred platform, naturally. If neither are forthcoming pretty soon, I guess It'll have to be a VM Windows.
