Nice work! That seems like a well thought out rule set, and a fun game. People love to build stuff! If I had that many dice I'd give it a try. :)

Thanks! Yeah, there's a bit of a problem having people test it out... Can't quite put my finger on it, though... ;)

It's a bit of a Dicey situation!

(cool game though! Might give me an excuse to buy that giant bag of Dice I keep almost buying on Amazon)

The goat trough is progressing to the point where I can finally start taking photos again!

Is that shoe for size comparison? Aren't you supposed to use a banana? lol, looks good man! Those are the kinda projects that enthrall me. I can spend hours going down the youtube rabbit hole watching people build stuff like that.

Loving this little bit of extra "me" time, to settle down in front of my PC and get creative again. Just a little experiment with some glitch effects. Mostly done from scratch, with some old photographs I had laying around on my hard-drive.

Well, we decided to widen that shelf so that you could step in and out of the boat more easily. All the aluminum boats are more like that. Haven't seen anyone do that wide on this type of boat, so it's kinda fun and special. We're gonna cap the shelves with plywood today, so more pictures incoming!

We got the plywood tops of the shelf around the boat cut out! It's wider and more curvy than any of these Tolman skiffs that I've seen. I'm really happy with how things are starting to look.

This is typically what the standard width of shelf would look like:

oof. Been a while since I updated.

Here's a concept I did today for a revamp of a VERY old character from the Beano comic. The original comic was a kid friendly parody of the St Trinian's school girls, so I'm creating a small team of more modern and up to date rebels!

Second "Belle" concept added. Will probably rework her a bit though, I don't think she turned out quite as well as Prune did, but still, not too far from where I want to take her at least.

In the original comic, apparently Mina's Myna bird was very talkative, so I'm taking that a step further and having Mina be entirely expressionless and silent, and her bird does all the emotive talking and expressions.

...also she's PROBABLY not a vampire. If anyone asks. I mean, nobody's gonna ask, but if they DO ask. Not a vampire. Probably.

She just really likes to drink red fruit juice or wine. Blood is gross.

The outfit on Prune makes me want to see you do a rendering of Halflife world characters. Not even main characters just folks you would see there. Like one wearing "My other cat is an Ant Lion" "All you can eat head crab legs" shirts

working on a new business card! (wip)

Just finished a painting. Quite by accident I've decided it looks like a deer caught in headlights so I'm going to call it 'Deer in headlights' from now on. It looks odd because I'm holding it at the bottom. I've yet to flatten it out.

Looks nice!

pyxistyx, I don't mean to criticize, however if this is going to be your business card, you should be aware that the first thought on my mind, when looking at your picture was Japanese tentacle porn (and I'm in no way a fan). Take that as you will.

I am aware of the ....subgenre and might have backed a 'consentacles' card game mentioned by Amoebic on twitter at some point in the not too distant past

That said, if I'm guilty then so is every piece of cover art from pretty much all of the Arkham Files games
and this does connect with the other promotional item I'm doing for my professional practice class (a short comic mixing Lovecraft's "Dagon" with pulp sci-fi).

Probably the final version of the front for now...

Nice bit of classic comic book texturing there.

You're all so talented, geez!

Higgledy, that is absolutely beautiful.

pyxistyx, that has so much character!

Gonna go with Moondragon's comment and say it honestly looks kinda rapey. Personally I wouldn't hand these out.

Respectfully, I...think that's a bit of a stretch. The aim was for a pulpy schlock classic sci-fi Amazing Stories type cover, and it also ties back to some of the similar stuff I did for Dante's inferno last year...

IMAGE(https://smackfolio.files.wordpress.com/2017/02/dante-booklet2.jpg)

...That said, just in case, I've PM'd it past a couple of the ladies of the forum for comments (so far, all positive feedback). I was thinking of going back and redoing her face again anyway since I'm not 100% happy with it so hopefully a change of expression will help.

Ok...different expression (which I'm MUCH happier with in general anyway). So hopefully that'll help.

IMAGE(https://smackfolio.files.wordpress.com/2018/02/grunge-cover2.jpg)

Great! Now it looks like she is going to rape that poor tentacle monster!

(I kid, I kid!)

Liking it, second face better.

I'm not sure if I'm old fashioned or not by believing that QR codes are a failed fad or at least very niche - I like the look of them when they are seen in isolation, in kind of the same way I like the look of Dwarf Fortress. However stick a QR code on any design then 99% of the time they uglify it.

I recently talked a theatre out of using them on newly designed programme. Their web guy was all like... "but 0.00025% of visitors to our site got there via scanning a QR code" I countered with trading that off vs the visual appeal of a cover without the QR was worth it. Final design, no QR code. Yay.

Are you going to have a reverse to the card pyxi? how about mocking that entire side up as the approved by the comics code icon but replacing the text with your details?

Sorry, just taken in isolation, that corner of your card could be looking at the corner of any supermarket product label. Just detracts from the awesome

I am of two minds about QR codes' too, to be honest so I might end up not bothering with it (It may be too small on the final card-sized version to be of use anyway). TBH I'll probably end up switching it out for something along the lines of the layout stuff you get on classic comic covers at some point.

Working on the rear section now. Interesting idea about the CCA sticker but I have another idea for the art on the back so I'll see how I get on

I think a web url is better than a QR code any day and I don't think a QR code is a valid replacement for a url since people like myself who don't use their phones for browsing the web may never bother to scan it.

I think something like a panel with text mimicking classic comics would be good.

The second face it a big improvement. Much stronger.

Not mine, but something by my daughter. Pencil for the original drawing, then scanned and digitally colored.

very nice!

Very cool, Katy's daughter!
