Honestly, it wasn't much the same at all. Jordan was nearly universally loved, and the Bulls, despite being the favorites every year, also tended to be rooted on by most fans. I mean, there is a reason that Jordan's name is now synonymous with baseball shoes.

There's some weight to this given the Pats run-ins with controversy.

At the same time I'd add a healthy dose of The Internet, which pre-dated Jordon and went on to give the toxic-touch to everything it brushed up against.

sh*t, Jordan's legacy hasn't sustained itself through the touch of The Internet. He's now considered an asshole, basically, and while his competitive streak was well known only The Internet has allowed the stories to be spread far and wide.

This is all true. But that is just more evidence that watching Jordan and the Bulls was nothing like watching the Pats. And while Jordan absolutely benefitted rom star treatment from the refs, that pales in comparison to the legacy of cheating the Patriots have left in their wake. Fair or not, outside of Boston, no one views the Patriots and Brady anything like they viewed the Bulls and Jordan.

Truth be told, I don't know that any dynasty in the history of sports was viewed as positively by the public as Jordan's run with the Bulls. UCLA basketball under Wooden, maybe?

That's one heck of a post, but I actually meant the Browns as the article linked was about them.

.... no!

Cousins to JAGS. Not Cousins to Browns!

After the long field goal in the 1st half, the Jags basically gave the game away by making bad calls on offense and defense. Gotta keep the petal to the metal against the Pats so you don't become another 28-3.

I haven't read it yet, but does it include running an iso on every single first down of the second half? I bet it includes running iso on every single first down of the second half.

And then throwing long on every 2nd down.

And more.

Woo. Mike Vrabel targeted Ohio State "co-offensive-coordinator" Ryan Day, but Day turned down the offer to stay in Columbus, where the team promoted him to full offensive coordinator.

That's a bit of a blow to Tennessee, as clearly this was the guy Vrabel was targeting to be the guy that develops Mariota.

Well, if they run out of OC options, Mike Mularkey is available...

Adam Schefter: If Jaguars can sign Kirk Cousins or Alex Smith, they’ll move on from Blake Bortles

Go get Kirk!

If I can start this next season cheering for Jimmy Garoppolo and Kirk Cousins, after starting this last season cheering for Brian Hoyer and Blake Bortles... I'll be so happy I could burst.

It's happening!

WWE's Twitter account says Vince is making a "major sports announcement" at 3pm Eastern.

I've only listened to the first minute of the livestream, but two phrases jumped out:

"medical professionals"
"family friendly"

The XFL: "Our players can't throw or catch for sh*t, but they can at least tackle and stand of the anthem."

Hey, just because the first XFL was complete garbage with laughably bad ratings and every alternative full-scale football league has crashed and burned doesn't mean this new one can't succeed.

Wait, no, yes it does. Never mind.

Apparently McMahon was asked about Kaepernick playing in the league and he said "why not?"

Blake Bortles just won two playoff games.

Hey maybe we'll get another Tommy Maddox and He Hate Me out of it.
