Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Catch-All

Release date April 3rd 2018 :O
That is way, way sooner than I expected.

Now to figure out how to take the week off.
Edit: Really, it is right after Easter. That is release date trolling :/

I STILL need to finish the original.

Let's goooooooooooooooo!

My plan to finish the expansions before it comes out are clearly kaput.

Worth it!

Speaking of, any suggestions for a good character to speed through the original? I was expecting this game in summer/fall so it’s time to hustle.

And just to confirm, finishing achievements in the first one gives you bonuses in Deadfire? Or did I misunderstand that?

Dont think it gives anything. Doing some kinds of achievements in Deadfire seems to unlock features in NG+ though.

Pre-orders are out. My only question is in the $75 Obsidian version it mentions including DLC 1-3. Does that mean expansions 1-3? Because if it is just cosmetics and pets and no missions or campaign like the middle tier pre-order forget it.

I seem to recall that Obisidian has mentioned that the long development time for the POE1 expansion was criticized by some customers, and they wanted to have more frequent smaller DLC instead.
Hopefully that does not mean less substantial DLC, I really liked the PoE expansions. If they merely split what is meant to be one big expansion into 3 releases, I'd be fine with that.

I agree. I just hope I'm not paying $25 for weapon skins, voice packs and baby monster tag-a-long pets.

FYI pre-orders are 20% off with a code on Greenman Gaming.
Got my Obsidian edition thank you very much

If you backed Deadfire, you key is now available at Obsidian.

You can also activate it on Steam.

The Obsidian Orders page also has a direct link for your handy-dandy Cooking with Tim Cain Cookbook .pdf.

I have my copy from the kickstarter. I'm pumped!

And my PC should be back from Italy in time for Deadfire!

Excited that console ports are coming so soon!

Happy they are bringing it to the Switch!

Nooo. I had actually taken days off for this. Was even a very inconvenient week to get vacation. At least the May 8 week is good with an official holiday.

Shoot. It was going to be my birthday present. I guess it will be belated ;P

Ship combat sounds really cool.
They still have the adventurer hiring at the inn (make your own companions) so you don't have to use the story companions right?

Edit: Watched it two more times and then made some Gfys because the hype was too much.

Wow, I had no clue this was coming out next week or even next month.

It isn’t. It got delayed until May 8th.

Announcement on Twitter this past weekend by Matt Mercer (voice of Aloth, Eder, and a bunch others) that the entire cast (all voice actors) from the D&D stream Critical Role, will be appearing (or reappearing) in the game. Given that there are multiple award winners in that group (Mercer, Ashley Johnson, Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey), that bodes well for the voice work in this game. Debating trying to finish the first or not.

I'm trying right now and it's really difficult. I've gotten to the same spot that I burned out at last time, Twin Elms. I reached max level (completed both expansions) a while ago and the story and combat just isn't engaging enough. I'm going to finish but I have to force myself to play. I really hope they fix the pacing and progression in PoE 2. Tyranny didn't have these problems but it is a much shorter game (25-30 hours).

So Obsidian have release a Scavenger Hunt to unlock artifacts in the game for you to use.

It basically seem to consist of scouring media, trailers and other assets for 6 digit codes which you enter into a website to unlock the items. I've signed up (because I'm stupid) and now trying work out exactly what they mean by "Assets". If i have to scour the html code I'm probably not going to last too long......

Cool. I like puzzles and treasure hunts.

It’s actually fairly straightforward (there is a code in the Scavenger hunt website) and they’ve been releasing them since January.

However it looks like a lot of them have been via their twitter account, and I don’t tweet so I’m gonna cheat a little instead.

List of found codes ...

Edit: People have been switched on to this since they started doing it. Some of them comments in the thread pre-dating the announcement are quite amusing. I think they were expecting something along the lines of what Frontier have been doing in Elite: Dangerous. Not quite that sophisticated!

Double post oops

1 of 55 for me!

(Not peeking yet)

Wow, very sneaky how they've been sneakily sneaking them into media for a while like a bunch of sneaks.

Kind of sucks though that it is Steam only. Some of us chose to get our Fig rewards via GoG
