Escape from Tarkov - Catch All

Druid - I have a decent collection of fort's so if you want to hook up I can give one to you. If you have gold chains certainly take them but not a big deal.

As far as shooting, Honestly I would not recommend not shooting because someone might here you. More I would recommend then you take a look at the situation and do appropriate. If it is Scav - Kill them quickly than make choice based on your gear/position/place on map to either A. Loot quickly get out of there B. Skip loot but get the good XP for kill and move on or C. Hang out look for incoming players kill them and steal their gear (which can include camping out in a near by bush).

I am not a fan of the "sneak" technique. It may save you now but it will inhibit you learning the combat system/strategy. In the long run it's better to just dive head in and learn. I am not saying it is not viable. However, if often leads to you taking longer to learn the combat system.

Now don't get me wrong. There is plenty of times to retreat in the game. Plenty of times I got in a fight got behind cover was pretty banged up, had a clear safe escape route. Kill someone then notice he has 3 friens and skip out because I don't have the ammo or meds to even mount a good attempt and already lost the surprise aspect.

If we want to raid as a group what's the best way to communicate? I'll definitely be on this evening. I'm going to reset on Sunday. What do the quests do for you? Increase trader reputation I assume?

Yes. I will probably be on this evening. Best is Discord/Twitch chat. I am ok with both. The gaming norm is discord but GWJ uses twitch quite a bit. Some people prefer one or other I'm pretty indifferent.

i'm escher77 nearly everywhere (steam/twitch)
discord you need friend code also escher77#4668

I'll be on tonight as well. I'm Bear on steam. I don't know where GWJ's discord is so I'l have to go find that.

Play a ton last night. Had some great runs but I really need to nail down the extraction points. I got wrecked last night with a bunch of gear by guys I believe were camping the extraction points.

I’m going to try to get on tonight as well. I’ve been trying to find time for this around my Rocket League addiction, but maybe if I get on before my west coast teammates... possibilities.

Of course, Kazar is West Coast, so at least part of the stumble will have to be during RL time (as Kazar is a lot of fun to run games with)...yay first world problems!

So what is everyone's preference discord or twitch?

I gotta be honest, I didn't know Twitch even had that option. Either is fine with me

Well Twitch chat is Curse. Twitch bought Curse and rebranded curse chat.

From my experience Twitch is easier, but it is more about consistency within the game. If I know EFT goodjers are on Discord then I know where to look for a game. I am an admin on the Twitch Voice server so I can create sub channels if needed.

Ok please post both the twitch and curse info and I'll make sure to login to whichever we decide. I'll be on for the afternoon then going to see 12 Strong and have some dinner and be back this late evening, post 10pm EST. I'm SpyNavy in game.

Edit: and... the game is down for patching. SIgh...

https://invite.twitch.tv/zDS9uyiR00u...

That is for the Twitch Twitch is Curse they are same thing.

Patch is schedule to be done so hopefully will be done shortly.

GWJ Discord(Link is good for 24 hrs after posting): https://discord.gg/NTXHPa

GWJ Twitch Comms(Link is good for 24 hrs after posting): https://invite.twitch.tv/jHz1

I'm indifferent, but I'll go ahead and vote that we go with Twitch(Curse) just so we have a direction to start with.

Edit: Esherhuasered!

New patch is up. I had to try a few time to get it start installing assume because mass of people downloading.

Freaking awesome time tonight even though we wiped a couple of times. I learned a bunch. Comms got much better as we went on. Thanks everyone, stayed up way too late but SOOOOO worth it.

Just got the gear from the first high deaths with the 5 of us. I got everything back so looks like ranalin indeed cleaned everyone up so you should check. Sadly they only give you 24 hours so will probably expire aroudn 2 p.m. EST

I'll take a look this morning. Thanks. I plan to play off and on today.

I actually ended up getting both Fort's/M4's/Helmets I lost that night back.

That's great - I did not :(. I need to get a Fort for the quest and I need to do the water quest for Therapist. I'm having a hard time with surviving to extract

Did you miss the cutoff to pick it up?

Tonight ended up being a great night. Escher and i ran into 2 people on Shoreline. They took him out but he softened them up enough for me to make easy (although stressful) work of them. Was able to save escher's gear, but managed to walk out with pimped out akm, vsass, AND a Fort! Not to mention a ton of other high dollar and quest items.

Thought i messed it up at the very end and instead of letting two players run to the exit i engaged with 2 blacked out legs. Instantly dropping one, and seriously hurting the other. Lost sight of him so wasn't sure if he was hiding, dead, or what, but i dropped a scav sitting right on top of the exit and made it out with :45 left.

Then i spent the next hour managing my inventory

Were you guys in Twitch? I didnt see anyone on all day?

Nah, we were playing warframe/pubg and then just decided to do 1 raid before we stopped for dinner. Watching shameless soon then i might be on for an hour or two.

Do you think you could help me with a Fort so I don't lose my reputation with Skier. Doesn't realize it was a time quest.

I'm in twitch

Thanks for the help, that was very kind of you. Cheers.

Of the three insurance runs I took out two Friday night, two of them succeeded, so worthwhile, I guess. Of course, the one that failed was the one that had my gun, so I'm sol for a weapon for a while until I can pick up some cash. Hopefully get on in the next few days, it will be nice to see what the game looks like beyond the first room.

Observation with Ranalin and my run last night is speed and combat. Ranalin and I two man cleared the entire Spa in shoreline. 5 PMC's cleared and literally looted every wing. We did all that with about 15-20 min of actual in spa time. I did die as we were about to leave but Ranalin was able to clean it up. We hit 90% of the higher end loot spots. Probably checked 10 Computers - 3 safe's and 20+ weapon cases.

Reasons we were able to do this was 1. clear comms 2. knowing the area. I am familiar with entire spa and Ranalin was familiar with 2 of 3 wings (that was first time he had hit the center building). 3. Looting smart/quick 4. Combat. First 3 guys we were in building heard them were aggressive killed them. Towards the end of our spa run I heard something briefly confirmed on comms it was not Ranalin and went to the hallway, lit one guy in fort up and he retreated to a room, Ranalin was already on his way to hallway knowing i was in a fire fight. Not sitting in a room. I 100% messed up and played like he was alone(My most made mistake in this game) went to push him as the second guy rounded the staircase. He had the jump so I was able to get good damage on him but he got me. Ranalin was already in hallway and supporting though so he finished that guy off. I was able to quickly tell him the other guy is in room to the left and hurt bad. Ranalin pushed immediately and finished him.

Few notes how quickly that could of gone wrong if we did not play agressive.

1. If I was not able to confirm sound direction/location I would not of been able to get hallway and take the first guy pretty much out of the fight (who ended up having RSASS considered to be best gun in game).
2. If Ranalin had hesitated coming out to hallway to help they would of killed me, backed off healed up and had him on a 2v1.
3. If Ranalin had not quickly pushed the hurt guy he very well could of healed up/moved. Pretty much been in an even 1v1.

Fact of how easily it still could of gone wrong.

There easily could of been a 3rd guy we had not seen yet and maybe a 4th. 100% true. Ranalin could of pushed down to finish second guy and had one on his right that kills him. However, if there is that hidden guy and he doesn't push again the one heals up he's 2v1. If he does push catch the guy off guard he can hopefully finish the one guy and maybe keep running grab cover, or simply out shoot 3rd. If there is a 3rd or 4th guy and he does not push what are really his chances of surviving? Sometimes you simply have to play the odds. There are situations where pushing hurt him, but in more situations pushing helped. Ended up saving my gear, walking out with fort armor + a couple great guns and other loot we had.

They just tweeted out that the Claim time for picking up insurance claims has been increased to 72 hours. Really good change.

Gonna take a lot more runs to feel comfortable, but with the help of Bear and Escher last night, reached extraction for the very first time. Albeit a Scav run, I consider it baby steps. Got a sellable weapon that will buy me 2 on the outside, so worth it.

Early on it is important to not be scared. However, once you get a few things you want do not be greedy.

Yesterday was at the spa came across a guy looting some geared bodies. Killed him shot at from bushes. Circled around killed his friends. While looting notice they both have like 3 trip zip's inside each other stacked. They could of left long before I got there and walked out with very nice load of guns for them both. Greed got them killed.

Now, what we won't talk about is how I through all my stuff in a bush to get it back with insurance. Then sat there and was greedy myself and walked out with like 5 tri zip's 4 guns and other good stuff. I made it out but I shouldn't of been so greedy. Should of grabbed the guns and left. Stacking more than 1 (because first one is easy/fast) backpacks and stuff takes too much time and was dumb risk on my part.

The thing with this game is the more you play, the more comfortable it feels and the faster you play. I spent most of two days running with nothing but a hatchet and a beta container. Now I'm got almost 600k ruples and a lot of gear. I've found that playing with nothing to lose and learning the maps makes it WAY easier.

This game really is a complete basket of risk, reward, luck and skill.
