Escape from Tarkov - Catch All

On that also note. Which greatly helps with stash size (even when you have the biggest) is Once you hit Tier 4 with traders for quite a bit of coin you can buy more icases and weapon cases. Hence why you see me having a bunch open. They do cost qutie a bit though at 8k Euro's (900k Rup) for a Weapons Case and 12.4k Euro (Roughly 1.3 Million Rup) per Icase.

However, Tier 4 takes some commitment to get to.

Side note I 100% am not agaist people waiting another few weeks to start. They have said new servers are on their way but if you only ever get to play during peak time servers are 100% overloaded at the moment. Causing De-syncs that piss you off when you lose gear and longer wait times.

I just got the game and I third that the lowest is a better place to start. This game won't be for everyone and committing $150 is an unnecessary risk. Once I heard I can pay to upgrade, it will be based on how much I like the game.

So far I think I need to play a whole bunch of games in Offline Mode with PVE so Ic an get accustom to how the AI works and where to go to get stuff. So far the few games I played I found I was getting hit by AI from weird angles then getting jumped by a player that was hearing the SCAVs shooting at me. I tried playing as a SCAV which went well but I wasn't able to find the extraction points.

Now often in games (certainly Darksouls etc. games) I am one of those people that prefer to learn myself and figure everything out. Personally to me this is not that kind of game. When people that know more are trying to kill you in the most literal sense.

Just as in PUBG I would 100% recommend squading up either with each other or me. The learning process would go so much quicker and be more rewarding.

That being said you do you.

However, I am available and willing to both go in equally as armed or you, or more heavily armed your preference.

I've considered buying this almost every day for a week. Knowing that there are Goojers playing this game makes me feel better about finding squaddies.

I have been reading some disconcerting stuff about lag and desync. Anyone able to shed any light on that?

Desync in any modern FPS with open world is an issue.

That being said this is Early Access/Beta. Desync issues go up and down with patches/fixes etc.
Currently during peak times it is bad 100%. Right before Christmas on this patch it was great. The big difference is right after Christmas they did a big PR push giving streamers codes and gave out free codes to current people signed up for 7 days. The player base has grown by 5-10x. They were not prepared for this and have done some things to help (shorter raid times) but mostly they have said they have ordered servers but it is not a quick process to get them up. So it could be several more weeks a month to that.

They have stated about desync and matching times currently.

1. We are adding new servers. It's not the fast process also the amount of new players is growing. But we are working on it
2. We already working on a new patch with fixes and stuff
3. Your opinions and concerns are taken into account. Thanks you, but remember - it's a testing process. UPD

OMG BEAR!

right before the lastest update they seemed to have a handle on the lag and desync. Now after the latest set of invites it's been rough, but they stated they have new servers ordered.

I'm still alive. Just starting to creep back into gaming!

I need to share, because I don't think this will ever happen again. Was doing customs with my ak74u loadout(non-suppressed), running the Prapor mission to obtain the documents from the second floor portable office(Factory Shacks). I picked off the scavs at the construction site, then made my way to the docs and collected those. I got into an engagement across the road with the Bus Depot Scavs, and retreated back towards the Factory Shack. Squad of three appeared from construction site, and I was able to survive them. Was looting the first when another squad of two showed up and miraculously I came out on top against them as well. So much loot, and so amped, I didn't even grab dogtags off of two from the first squad. Capped a hatchling on my way to the exit.

Factors for my survival probably include the first group thinking I was one of their party, I was decked out very similarly(aren't we all though), and from the mags I did pick up, I was seeing hollowpoint in their loadout. Armor saved the day.

After a run like that, I'm seriously tempted by upgrading for the larger stash.

nice run

Damn, I should have took a screenshot of my 11 kill run. Oh by the way everything Druid and Escher said plus 1. Game is very good and while lag can be a pain it's worth it. I need to get with Escher to learn his quick money method. You definitely need to learn the maps early. They're are some good ones online, but I played a bunch in off line. The AI is not fodder and they are wicked deadly inside 30 meters. Some good you tubers out there as well with many doing map walk through.

I didn't even know there was an offline mode. Does the loot you get offline carry into online?

No. You do not get to keep loot or XP you gained. It is simply to learn.

In the middle of writing a basic guide should be done in a an hour or two.

I recommend reading this to any newer player.

Guide/Tips

Let me know if any major topic I forgot. Just through it together today on down time at work.

So I picked this up, logged in and started in a pitch dark forest. Crept around for about 5 minutes then got shot in the head. Never saw or heard the shooter.

I love this game. It's like ARMA on steroids!

FYI each map has 2 time zones. 1 day 1 night (normally). I recommend day until you have night vision :P.

Well done dude! Thanks!

Night vision eh, that explains a lot. I was hiding in a bush in my first game (heard someone running near me). He came right up to me and shot me in the back. Was thinking he had good eyes, but I guess I probably stood out like a candle.

This game has everything. They are apparently going to be including shooter glasses to cut down the sun glare in day maps. This attention to detail is what got me interested in the first place. Now I just need to find some time and a willing sherpa... sensei. I meant sensei.

There is both night vision and new to this patch is thermal scope. The thermal scope is super super super expensive though and super rare. I've never seen one in game.

So far, I only have one complaint. Why can't I cross a god damn guardrail or jump over something knee high.

If this game had Ghost Recon: Wild lands movement it would be the best ever!

I am pretty new, maybe we can stumble through the game together.

I'm also always willing to help just hit me up on steam.

I'm pretty new as well but learning. The worst part of the game is the performance, it'll kill you more than players. Still loving it despite the warts. I'm probably going to reset my game again now that I have a better idea of what I am doing.

Sequisha started a fresh account tonight. For anyone who wants to see an experienced player work from the beginning, it might be beneficial to watch his vod. He knocked out his first skier quest(deliver fort armor and kiver helmet) on his first raid in factory.

Do note that is not normal. Honestly I really don't like that first quest because early on in resets fort's are very hard to come by unless you have EoD addition because you start with one.

Apparently NA servers were good last night. I purposely stuck to shoreline/woods will try some peak time factory/customs tonight and see.

https://www.reddit.com/r/EscapefromT...

Spent most of last night running around shoreline learning the map. Starting to get a much better feel for the game and wtf I'm supposed to be doing.
Tonight I may try some raids. Am I safe to assume that a raid means kill everything that moves?

Also, I noticed the game seems to have it's own friends list. Feel free to hit me up.

Very true. I'm still waiting for another set of fort armor while I grind through Prapor quests. Dropped a couple of guys in Customs dorm last night, and secured two more Kiver's, but haven't stumbled into fort again. I'll probably do the camp and pray no Juggernauts join factory strat.

As PMC, yes...generally. Your gunfire will attract others, so if I'm trying to do things all sneaky like, I might pass up a hatchling who may just pick up a gun and wax me later in the raid.

As Scav, yes, if you want to. Otherwise you have some Cheeki Breeki AI teammates. Kind of nice to have them bird dog a bit for yah. The scav AI won't shoot you as long as you don't shoot them. Other players can spawn as scav as well, so if you see one moving in a fashion unlike the AI scavs, keep an eye on them. They may try to kill you.
