Between the Titans keeping Mularkey and apparently Robiskie, and the Seahawks hiring Brian Schottenheimer... I mean there's not much more I could ask for really.

I only made it for the last quarter of Saints/Vikings, but holy crap was that a game. A real nail biter, and one in which I ultimately rooted for Minnesota... largely because their defense had been decimated and their offense looked like it would be no problem for the Eagles defense to trample. So... yeah, it was for selfish reasons, but holy sh*t what a finish.

I just want Eagles to make the Super Bowl. Winning it? That's a lost cause. We're either up against Jags (a good team this year with good offense and defense), or Patriots (cheaters beloved by the League). Pretty much asking if you want to get stabbed or shot in the stomach. But y'know what? Hoping to at least make it there.

As I said before, loss of Wentz has only shown how weak the offensive line can be in keeping the pocket together, but this last game Foles was more like his 2013 self so I have some faith we can win it.

Next Sunday is gonna be a blast.

Having no horse in this race, I'm rooting for the Vikes because having the "neutral site" Super Bowl be a home game for one of the teams amuses me. Having Keenum v Bortles would be another sign of the ongoing apocalypse.

Our D just isn't the same without Shazier. Can't win the game by getting Bortled for 38 points. Next season is the year we make it to the playoffs healthy!

There's a manic saltiness that pervades this forum the closer the Pats get to the Superbowl that I really appreciate. I hope for the continued descent into salty madness.

Also, it was especially fun watching Tomlin and the Steelers crash and burn as they had been looking ahead to the AFC championship game against the Pats for about 6 weeks now. I hear the Jag's really appreciated that.

I really enjoyed the last few minutes of that Saints - Vikings game. It was hectic and fast paced. No big controversial calls. Just big plays and drama. I feel bad for Marcus Williams. Horrible play but doesn't deserve the ugliness that comes from angry fans. Tough way to end a rookie season.

New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings: This one is interesting since the Vikings should win, but Brees can still carry the team and maybe Case Keenum turns back into a pumpkin as Cam Jordan flattens him. The Vikings losing at home is the perfect Vikings thing to do. Saints.

Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles: One good game this weekend! Oh, wait, Nick Foles. Falcons quietly have a really good defense. And Julio Jones and Devonte Freedman. Falcons.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers: Let me know when this is over. Steelers.

Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots: I simply don't see Mularkey out coaching Belichick. Patriots.

Was I way off here or what. Except Mularkey, cause he is who we thought he was.

This one was not wrong except the Vikings losing at home in the Superbowl is actually the perfect Vikings thing to do. So you just missed it by a couple of weeks.

It is pretty awesome.

Labeling a team dirty Trump-cheaters really betrays the desperation.

It's obvious.. the Patriots have zero appeal outside of that craphole of an area called New England. Even there it was a forgotten franchise to all the Sawk's fans and for most people in that area they didnt even realize they had a football team until they won that first Super Bowl.

Steeler Dynasty had great working class appeal and likable and lovable characters. Rocky Blier? Watch his story compared to the special that the NFL ran on the two white dude bros from the Patriots going down to Trumps least favorite country to act like asses and generally make fun of the locals. They have the Immaculate Reception in their legend.. the single most iconic play in Football history.

49'er Dynasty had Joe Montana probably the single most charismatic and beloved QB ever to play the game.. Also Jerry Rice. Bill Walsh revolutionized the game and they had a owner that appealed to all the working class Italian-Americans. They have The Catch again one of the more iconic plays in Football history.

Dallas (bleh) has the ridiculous appeal of being America's Team.. (for some god awful stupid reason). Lets just stop here.. I have no freaking clue why anyone likes Dallas outside that sh*thole of a city.

Then you have the Patriots.. Who have Tom Brady as their icon.. a guy that peddles snake oil.. destroyed evidence during Deflategate and generally is regarded as a putz. His BFF is Trump.. he second BFF is Markey Mark a guy that bailed at Halftime at last years Super Bowl when they were down 28-3 (great FAN! SAD!). Their Coach has the emotional range of a fruit fly and was the architect of the single greatest cheating scheme ever. Their iconic play? The Tuck Rule fumble that wasn't. That's right their iconic play is a bullsh*t call that cost the Raiders a shot at a Super Bowl.

I will give the Patriots credit for one thing.. they managed to get a room full of Eagles fans to not only root for the Giants once but twice! As well as forever hold the Manning family in high praise.

Like another Brady BFF
"Ok that's it"

Spoiler:

Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms!

Oh hi, guru.

Shorter Guru: The only thing standing between Tom Brady and his sixth ring is Bort Blakles this week and either Kase Ceenum or Not Certis two weeks hence, and I CAN'T STAND IT.

Also, I rooted for the Giants not once but twice. I still feel dirty.

The Patriots are cheaters, I don’t see how you can even argue it? They have actually been caught multiple times and punished. It isn’t debatable. Plus the reports of suspicious evidence of others. I mean I have no problem if they are your team but at least be honest about it. They are cheaters.

The whole TB12 snake oil and buddy Trunp stuff just adds to the distaste people already had for them.

On the games, I think the Steelers’ coach let them down. They should not have passed on 4th and 1, and the onside kick was dumb. Those two calls won the game for Jacksonville.

I feel bad for the Saints rookie. There was speculation he was trying to avoid pass interference right? I wonder if he realized he was the last man between the receiver and the end zone. Great catch by Diggs.

But he was one of the Eagles best players.

There are no clean teams in the NFL. Whether it's cheating, player miconduct, or the indiscretions of the old billionaire white owners. Jerry Rice admitted to cheating. That taint everything he did with Montana/Young? Roethlisberger has been suspended for allegedly raping a women. On the field you have Tomlin tripping players. Completely classy and by the book.

Let's not even get into all the teams that have PED violations. Denver probably tops that list. They're best known for their salary cap violations and their own mini spygate though. Then you have the Ravens who's most celebrated defensive icon is either directly involved with or at the very least involved in the cover up of two murders. At least the Pats murderers end up in jail where they belong. Shall I continue?

Apparently Mularkey's extension was measured in hours. He's out in Tennessee.

LOL.

And I thought Console Warz was Serious Business (tm.).

Congratulations, Mr. Mariota.

Also, Football Outsiders used to have a standard Irrational Brady-Manning Thread that people would use for that pointless argument. Let's just assume all the BELICHEAT/PATS ROOL posts have been made a hundred times in the past already?

Sports tribalism is pretty gross. It's the main reason I don't enjoy sports nearly as much as I did when I was a little kid and ignorant of all the bs from the fan bases. I'm obviously just as guilty of it at times. The whole thing is icky.

Generally speaking, when defending the behavior of an organization “everyone does it” is pretty low on the integrity meter. Your team hustles and scrapes for every small advantage, own it! Bill is the Batman of the NFL or something.

And this thread will not be another dumpster fire arguing over who has the most evil team. Let’s all move on and keep dumping on Bortles. Even Legion can’t help himself anymore.

Mularkey dug his heels in on his coordinators and he's paying the price for it. Why in the hell would you hitch your wagon to Terry Robiskie?

I'll be shocked if they don't already have Josh McDaniels locked up.

It looked to me like he just whiffed the tackle. Feel bad for him.

Re: Pats

Edit: Sorry, posted before seeing Certis' note.

War Bottles! Autocorrect can't even get Bortles right!

Fine, fair enough. There's really no point of me even posting in these threads any more. Guru's still going to do his weekly sh*t on pats fan and where they live routine. Throw in a few subtle jabs from everyone else. I'd just continue being defensive and taking the bait. There's really no place for a Pats fan in here unless you have extremely thick skin and I certainly do not.

Rather than embedding all the individual videos here, here's a Deadspin post with videos of Vikings fans' reactions and people utterly freaking out after the TD. They're pretty awesome, particularly the very first one, which is an end zone view as Diggs runs by.

Sometimes sports have mercy. Sometimes sports pay you back. And I just hope that every Lions, Browns, Bengals, and Jets fan gets to have a little miracle of their own one day.

But not the Eagles. I hope the Vikings f*ck the Eagles up.
