Fantasy Strike is OK, it's all about the neutral game. My experience at EVO and in the beta is it still needs some balancing, certain characters seem a lot stronger than others. If what you've been wanting is a game that is only about reading/learning your opponent, and not at all about flashy combos and technical execution, then it'll probably be up your alley.
Yup pretty much! After that robot game fell through a few years ago I am glad someone else has picked up this torch. An interesting idea I’m willing to support.
Benefit from my half hour of confusion and research, if you pre-ordered DBFz, download this too.
Because I pre-ordered and didn't have beta access. There was another, extremely hard to find token I needed to download.
At all, yeah.
And it seems only available to people who pre-ordered digitally. Domano and cube pre-ordered the disc from Amazon and weren't sent a code.
I thought about activating that free two week trial of PS Plus to download the beta but then I remembered that I don't have a stick for PS4 and that our TV has terrible input delay... I don't think I would get much out of it.
The age of tag team fighting games is apparently upon us. (MVCI, DBFZ, BBCTB, and now this)

Although really I can't tell if this actually is a fighting game.
Looking at it though, now I'm miffed at them for not having more customization options for KoF 14.

Blake will be DLC for BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, release date May 31st, which is soon, seems like a rush.
Blake's moves look exceedingly awesome.
At all, yeah.

I ordered from PSN and couldn't find the unlock download. Fixed that.
DBZ feels really freaking good.

I hope you did, I gave you a damn link for it.

Just.
Announce.
Yang.
Already.
I understand the basics of why fighting game betas might wall off 100% of singleplayer content or disallow private party games... but it sure does make them a waste of a download for me
Yeah I was hoping we could make a lobby. Ah well, 2 weeks. It’s worth playing the tutorial though, that’s accessible.
And AE is incoming and Sakura will be free for a week.
Good times are ahead of us.

The tutorial for DBZ made me think this will be the most fun my friends have maybe ever had with a fighting game. I stopped trying to do actual things and just smashed buttons a bunch and a bunch of crazy things still happened so I think it should be pretty perfect for my "we're all awful at fighting games" group.
I gave up on SFV long ago though. As I recall I got on exactly once with a group from here, failed to win so much as a single round, and jumped ship immediately. The idea that they added more stuff for all the characters and made the game even more complicated doesn't exactly lure me back to try multiplayer again, ya know?
Also for DBZ I'll be on Xbox. So... y'all have a blast over there in the other place I guess.
The Dissidia NT beta
The what now?
I'll have a look at whatever that is tomorrow.
I feel really weird about Dissidia. I played it casually on PSP, it was alright -- very flashy, and I loved the franchise so I had a decent amount of fun button mashing away. It's been too long to really compare the two, but I'm a bit down on this beta.
Things feel a bit slow and clunky to me, maybe it's the limited moveset but it feels less deliberate (see Smash Bros), and more limiting. It's in contrast with the frantic, chaotic fights with 6 people all zooming around causing your camera to spin like mad. I really don't know how I feel about the main emphasis being 3v3, I have a hunch that's why they slowed it all down.
I played a bit with a friend today, though, and when the lag wasn't unbearable we did end up having a good bit of fun. I don't "get" it yet, though. I feel like I'm throwing out spells (I love playing Tera!) and just hoping they connect. Same goes for my HP attacks, it's a coin-flip whether I land them.
Is it actually a deep game? With the limit on 8 attacks, I feel like I'll grow tired of it quickly. I want to love it because it's Final Fantasy, but I'm just feeling cautious. It's so confusing, yet it tries to be simple! I don't know what to make of it!
That shines some light on the game, well put Ahrez!
While I'd love to play with you, I'm having a hard enough time finding lag-free 'local' matches. Trying to connect with someone overseas, I'd assume, would result in a disgusting level of lag.
Decided to pick up Pokken Tournament DX + the DLC for the Switch. It looked like a lot of fun.
Rising Thunder Community Edition is out!
I like the zooming around a large battlefield thing. Similar mechanics could make for a very very cool superhero fighting game.
It is INFURIATING that DBFz' friend lobbies aren't working.
R2 starts a custom lobby you can put a password on.
It's kind of broken right now.
You do still need to be in the same overall lobby. AMA about Mexico West.
