Actual Bold Predictions post will go up tomorrow evening so everyone can get their own predictions in. Feel free to use this one to tell us how right we are

Cory and Shawn are both right. Some Zelda games are open world in design. Some are definitely directed pieces with set areas funneling you from one place to another. Wind Waker and the original Legend of Zelda are examples of open world design. Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess are examples of linear directed experiences.

MASS EFFECT: ANDROMEDA IS MY GAME OF THE YEAR.
DAMN STRAIGHT IT IS!

Shawn, you are evil.

Bold Predictions shows are always so much fun.

00:05:54 Civilization VI (iPad)
00:09:04 Arena of Valor (iPad)
00:14:22 Skyrim (Switch)
00:16:39 Zelda: Breath of the Wild
00:19:06 Dishonored: Death of the Outsider
00:21:50 Bold Predictions from 2017
00:56:44 Bold Predictions for 2018

Yay Microcenter!

That’s where I get all of my gaming PC stuff. Aside from the fact that I have to go to Cambridge for it, it’s a great store.

Haha, that's exactly how I feel. Dread going to Cambridge but I'm like a kid in a candy store when I finally get through all the traffic.

Finally got me to create an account with one of your predictions. I just had to comment.

Most of you guys on the Podcast are SO SURE we are hearing about the next Elder Scrolls this year. Bethesda has had many statements saying the next thing they are working on is a new IP so the next Elder scrolls will be a LONG way off...

I believe some supposed leaks were calling it Star Field?

Listen, this episode proved that we're never wrong so get ready for Elder Scrolls VI: Paddycakes coming Fall 2018.

It sounds like there was an audio error around the 1 hour mark? With Certis announcing predictions again? I dunno, it seemed to hit around 1:05.

Also: Rabbit is wrong, if PS5 gets announced it'll be in 2019 for release in 2020. That's my bet at least.

Great, the Game King's ordeal's making me wonder if this ancient rig's going to last until it's replacement shows up next month.

I heard it too. It was like two tracks were overlapping at the 1:01 mark.

"I'm Commander Sands and Mass Effect Andromeda is my Game of the Citadel"

My bold prediction, which I dearly hope is wrong: EA shutters Bioware completely.

Around 1:01:22 to be exact.

+1 for Certis' prediction for the new Vive model and wireless solution.

HTC Vive Pro and Vive Wireless adapter were announced at CES on Monday.

This episode was super entertaining.

I vote Andrich gets a soundboard.

Maybe the rest of the crew would buy in if they were given control of it on some kind of rotating basis.

There's no way ESIV comes out when they just released ESV on the Switch, unless they want to alienate a large install base who just spent $60 on a seven year old game.

More likely they announce a new expansion for ESO.

I have never laughed so hard at a Conference Call.

I'd point out that LG and Pimax had already shown off SteamVR systems last year, right down to similar wands and lighthouses.

My main concern with Anthem is not that it will be a bad game per se. In fact, my "bold" prediction is that Anthem will be...fine. It'll be fine. Some people will really like it, a lot of people will play it for a few weeks and forget about it, and it will probably show up in the low range of the top ten next year, much like Mass Effect did this year. My main concern with Anthem is that it won't be a Bioware game as we know it. It's difficult to tell even modestly compelling stories in video games. It is damn near impossible when you are trying to get people play a game for years on end. Especially when you're trying to sell them things in game at the same time.

Always my favourite episode of the year. Sean sounded a bit quieter than usual or the rest of the crew this week but I assume that's down to him having to make up for PC issues at the last minute.

I'm going to be re-listening to both prediction parts so I'll probably figure this out, but Cory said a couple times that he had a PC prediction but I didn't seem to catch it when the conversation turned around to him to make a prediction. What was it?

When Alan predicted "the Oculus $200 self-contained VR goggles won't release for consumers this year" you all inferred he was predicting Oculus would make an announcement about that product this year, and Rabbit (I think) dismissively said "No way!" Well, whether Alan is right or not remains to be seen, but Rabbit is already wrong, because Alan was referring to this announcement from last November. Oculus apparently showed it off at CES and are saying it'll ship early in 2018, so it's not looking good for Alan's prediction either, but at least he still has a chance

Great episode.

A friend showed me the iPad Pro recently. He is very creative and showed me how he does drawings and artwork on it with the 'pencil' and 'Pro Create.' It's just incredible to be able to flip reference in, spin the paper, zoom in for details. It's exactly how I'd want something like that to work. To top it all you can watch play backs of your drawings line by line.

I may need to buy one.

Amazon Prime's streaming service has some manga on it now. 90% of manga doesn't work for me but I'm always looking for the 10% that does. I can recommend:

INUYASHIKI LAST HERO
It has a very nasty 'Death Note' style villain.

KABANERI OF THE IRON FORTRESS
It's a little like 'Attack on Titan' with armoured trains.

Loved the swoosh sound, thanks for adding it Next year a harp?

I would love if you would add 'stuff we missed and should have predicted'. There was one, on loot boxes if I'm not mistaken, but I would prefer it as a segment.

We bought one for our daughter for Christmas this year. She is just starting the second semester of her junior year towards and degree in illustration. She had been using a really nice Wacom pad and her MacBook Pro. The iPad Pro is a huge upgrade, and she loves it.

My wife just killed my MacBook Air (dumped a glass of milk on it), and we are considering replacing it with an iPad Pro. My wife has been taking some drawing classes and mostly messing around, so it would be fun for that. Plus, I think it would just be a better device for how I was using the Air anyway. right not really need a pro, but it would still be cheaper than springing for a laptop.

+1 again for MicroCenter, it's like what RadioShack used to be when I was a kid.
