Will be interesting to see/find out.
In the meantime Playerunknown's Battlegrounds comes out Thursday. It is not PvE in anyway like this but it is a lot more realistic than H1Z1 King of hill.
Yeah, I just more meant the people that play once are often interested in both types of games. Personally I am interested more in Tarkov but Battlegrounds fits in better for people that need a contained gaming time.
Beta this month? Excellent.
I keep forgetting I preordered, just waiting on Beta.
So, day one of the week long wave of invites for the closed beta is upon us. They're releasing beta invites based on when you preordered the game. I preordered on Dec 30th, last year, and did not get in on the first wave. Anyone who had Alpha access gets immediate access to the closed beta.
Lots of connection issues reported, mostly due to the amount of folks downloading the new version, and hammering their profile pages for a link to the launcher. Also, there's complaints about the AI being overpowered.
So, first impression, this game is brutal. I hopped into different matches with a pistol, and made little progress. After I'd gone through all of my Makarovs, I started doing hatchet only runs to learn the maps. I focused on Factory to get a feel for that first, because it's so small and makes for faster runs. I also found that I had better luck making my way to the exit in Woods, bravely running away from the first sign of conflict.
After getting a bit more comfortable in Factory, I started to bring a pistol along. I slowed things down, went for headshots, and have had some success. It's nice putting down a few well aimed shots, while my opponent emptied their clip, and coming out on top.
Lots of failures, a few successes, and overall I've enjoyed it. I can't wait to increase my cache size(once they implement missions to do that), the 10x20 for the standard edition folks fills up really fast.
I picked this up last night. Seems interesting.
It's great but there is another full reset and launch so i might hold off till then. They just had one and i played a bunch but don't' really want to work all the way up with trader levels just to have it reset again. Not at all that i blame them they are messing with economy a lot etc.
The game had some server issues this weekend, but damn, it's a lot of fun. Definitely unforgiving, but haven't had tension so high during a game since DayZ.
Ranalin,
I may have to call you Tabasco from now on because that's what my tablet autocorrected your name to when I started. The game worth jumping in now or should I wait still?
Spy
Thanks Tabasco
Do note though i think there is a sale going on and not sure when it ends.
As far as waiting or not depends on you as a person. I really like the game but 100% not a game i like to lose my progress so I only play every few wipes then wait. I will play much more regularly once the final wipe is done.
Looks a pretty solid game TBF
I have been playing a bunch since the last reset.
The game is amazing. I love it. I will say right now is not the best time to start mid stress test. I'd give it 4-5 days until the queue times go down. They are fine mornings late night but during peak times the two maps that you want to start on are high.
Overall the learning curve is very steep. However, the payoff is worth it. Last night I got into a very high geared fight. Won a 1v3 and got out with their gear. Was even better than a PUBG chicken dinner (which is amazing).
I dove back in this week as well. Actually getting more into this time around. I'm still a nervous nelly when it comes to my gear, and haven't run a mission with a rifle as of yet. Too afraid to lose them...but what's it worth it if I never use them. Once I invest in some armor, I'll start taking my ak74 out for a spin.
Great game. Gives me a rush similar to PUBG for sure, but I can't attest to winning any 1v3's

Honestly, as far as the not bringing in rifle. While you are learning maps etc. this is fine. However, once you learn maps get some keys it's so easy to do hatchet runs to replace money and just buy new ones. That being said it's harder to learn those hatchet runs etc.
I have a run that with a decent spawn in customs I can normally get 40-80k ruples in like a 14 min no weapon run. That being said takes me 2-3 attempts to get the run going without being gun downed near the beginning.
I see the game is available for pre-order with access to beta (which I am guessing is live now?). Is there a good reason to pay more for the extra room/starting equipment or can you find that stuff in game or buy with micro transactions?

They do allow you to upgrade or least they were last i checked. You'll find out that you want the biggest container to bring stuff back, but it's not required.
Right but unless the game blows me away, I don't want to spend over $100 to get it.
Is it strictly pvp?
Went ahead and picked up a copy. Im sure I'll get some use out of it.
As for the bigger coppies. The gear you get is nice just to play with but honestly once you learn the game easy to buy/get yourself.
However, the higher versions do give 3 really nice things. 1 is simply convienance and helps for horders like me the bigger stash size. 2 are border line "P2W" however I still view them more on the boost/convienance scale the P2W personally. 1. Larger gamma container. So the early versions give you a 2 X 2 container that is the only thing when you die you do not lose the contents of. The next version I believe gives 2 X 3 and the largest one gives 3 X 3. These can let you go in badly armed and put some of the better stuff away safely before you die. Now you can buy bigger ones later on. 2 X 3 not to deep (if you know how to level) and there is a 2 X 4 but that is much later and currently sitting behind a quest that almost needs to be cheesed. 2. Starting reputation with traders. This allows you to level up traders faster after resets allowing you to buy better stuff faster.
As Ranalin said you can always upgrade later. However, do note you need to reset your progress to upgrade.
As for PvP there is a PvE mode however no one uses it because you do not get to keep the gear. It is more to learn if you wanted to.
This game is brutal in difficulty and has a steep learning curve. That being said it is amazing if you are into it. It makes Pubg feel like an arcade shooter. Also let me know I can always help showing you the ropes.
