Cyberpunk Catch-All

Just watched the trailer from 2013 again. 14 people dead from random violence? Seems so quaint these days. Now I am sad.

You're not familiar with the IP are you?

I can't wait to see what he looks like after Cyberpunk

I totally am. I played CP 2.0.2.0 back in its heyday. That was a comment about what could have been seen as shocking four years ago when the trailer was made and what we experience on like a monthly basis nowadays. I guess my problem is as much as I want this game, the concept of mass violence in a realistic world just makes me ill as we've deftly hurdled the line between what seems out-of-place and what is commonplace.

I won't try to take this any further into D&D territory though, (mainly because R. Talsorian never really did fantasy gaming). Sorry.

I think the best I can hope for is a 2019 release. Then I look forward to my other favorite Mike Pondsmith project getting picked up by CDPR: Mekton!

Cyberpunk - the genre - has always been gritty and violence prone. Philosophical too, yes, but the former shows a lot better in teasers for teasers to trailers for video games.

Some kind of surprise announcement next year - like, hey Cyberpunk is coming out in 6 months, Q2 2019 - would be quite the crowd pleaser. My money is on it not happening but I don't mind being proven wrong.

I'll be happy if Cyberpunk 2077 isn't a modern-day game by release

I remember playing Cyberpunk 2020 as a teenager. So a 2020 release date could be a possibility and pretty cool tie-in?

Edit. Or a late Q4 2019 release so folks are picking it up and playing it going into the 2020 new year...

Maybe I'll actually be finished with Witcher 3 when this comes out.

Polish website says Cyberpunk 2077 will be playable at E3

The Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account sputtered to life last week with a single, solitary "beep"—the first (and so far, only) word to come out of it after four full years of silence. Now a rumor has surfaced on Polish site GRYOnline (via Google Translate) that a new trailer for the game will be shown at this year's E3, and that it will in fact be playable—although only behind closed doors.

The site said the claim comes independently from two separate sources, and while it's obviously just a rumor at this point, it "strongly believes" that the game will be present. It also pointed out that the rumor coincides with a report last week from YouTuber LegacyKillaHD that a tech demo build of Cyberpunk had been submitted to Sony in December 2017—an indirect connection, but if accurate, evidence that the wheels are beginning to turn in earnest.

E3 is still a good way off—it runs June 12-14 this year—but in light of the recent activity on Twitter, it seems like a reasonable bet that CD Projekt will have something to show. I've emailed the studio for confirmation (which I don't anticipate will be forthcoming, but I am a relentless optimist) and will update if and when I receive a reply.

Well, that's better news than the headline I saw saying they'd have a trailer at E3. Like, whoa, a trailer.

That trailer made me fall in love with Archive so I wouldn't even be disappointed by another trailer.

Cyberpunk 2077 - 7 More Things You Probably Don't Know

In The Witcher 3, apparently Ciri drops a Cyberpunk reference. Now she has to be an easter egg in the game.

I caught that in real-time. Basically expecting her to be an NPC silently hanging out in the back of the bar with Avallac'h.

Yeah I remember that. Was friggin' dope!

Let's hope you can choose your own character. I loved Geralt, but playing as a boring, personality-less white dude has very little appeal for me. The rest of the world building looks ok though.

Cars?!

I'm so bought into this. It's everything I want from a cyberpunk game. Cyber AND punk!

Sure looks Cyberpunk-y.

It looks perfect.

Some more info from the developers in the text scroll No release date. No micro transactions.

If they let me play a short, bald, angry journalist it will be the only game I will ever need to play. And I will die happy.

Hasn't it been confirmed for years that you could play as self-created male/female characters. Of course I guess it could have changed since.

1000% THIS.

This guy couldn't be any more "Easter European RPG Protagonist" if he tried.

Well, that's me sold. Take my damn Money!
