Marvel Puzzle Quest GWJ Alliance?

I had the same thought.

Confirmed. I'm running 3/3/2 old man logan with lvl 40 gambit with a champion 4* blade and it just wrecks everyone.

FInally got my 4* Gamora. Of the seven straight reds I drew, I unfortunately only had time to save 2. With 8 minutes left until one of them expired, I got the Dr Strange PvP 10 hero points to get me to 242 to give me the ability to purchase two other colors to champion.

So I lost five.

Next to champion is X-32. Drew a cover for her a few days ago in the middle of all the Gamora run.

Laura is solid. I don't have a regular team for her yet, 'cause I've toned down on my playing. Mostly just doing daily + a bit of PvP now that it's all wins based. I'm enjoying the game WAY more now that I don't feel pressured to grind points for PvE rewards.

Gamora, R&G, Medusa is 90% of the matchups I am pulling in shield now. Super annoying.

So apparently if you have an only black cover gambit he can generate 3 red 3 purple / round and the red/purple of your teammates are not blocked.

I just got annihilated by a gambit like that + a spider gwen. She could cherry bomb every other round.

I would have to assume they would fix that bug soon as that can't be working as intended.

Wow. That's insane.

KidC, you haven't played in 9 days. Do you still want your spot in the alliance?

Dear MVP,

Look, I love match games. I love the theme.

But when EVERY SINGLE TEAM AT THE TOP OF THE SHIELD PVP IS Rocket&Groot, Gamora, and Medusa... you have broken something.

it's weird how the meta I encounter almost never matches the ones you describe.

I wonder if it all comes down to the specific time bracket and if there's that much variance between them

I'm in level 9

He's right about what I see.

I see it too, but it's no different than previous metas before it. Six months ago it was Carol/Blade/Medusa 100% of the time. Before that it was Hulkbuster/Jean Grey/Fill. The meta for this game is always broken, the only question is which characters are the broken ones.

Wow, I can finally get my 2* farm back up to champion. I kept drawing 13th covers for my 4*s and had to deplete my 2*s to champion them all.

/Unfortunately I don't have the self discipline to sit on tokens.

Same.

It's just annoying with R&G/Gamora because you can't stop them from doing 5-10k damage. I got the rogue cover from the SHIELD simulator, but it took 4 days and 30 health packs to grind the last 10-15 wins.

I lost last night to the same 1 cover Gambit and Spider Gwen team, bandit0013. I also lost to Vulture, because I didn't realize that once he gets a single black off he remains airborne forever. I was pretty salty about that.

After that happened with Vulture once, I don't play him anymore. Annoying.

Yeah, it strikes me as almost being a bug. Do AoE powers hit airborne enemies?

They do not, nothing hits airborne enemies. Vulture isn't quite self sufficient at staying airborne, as Circling Prey costs 6 black, but only generates 4 black. But if they have a cache of black built up, it can take a while for it to wear down. I'm also not sure if Hybrid Tech Slicer generates AP for the tiles it destroys, it seemed like I was seeing that the other night. Can definitely be annoying to encounter (especially if you have Luke generating black protect tiles, and Mordo generating black charged tiles).

And the black only Gambit is definitely real annoying! It seems like they didn't think through this possibility when they designed the character.

PSA - On Thursday, you'll no longer get xp for tokens, sending team ups, or playing nodes. You'll now only get xp for recruiting or training characters, but you get more of it for those.

I wonder if it makes it worth it to start farming 1*s?

I wondered the same thing. Proabably would be if you never put any iso to leveling them, and farm just for xp. I just don’t know if I can rationalize 1k hp for each slot.

Just 4 more wins to get my rogue cover in the simulator and I’m not sure it’ll happen. Defense wins aren’t counting and with the imbalanced meta, my team has no chance. I can only hope to get hit hard and lose a lot of points so I can go against easier teams. Maybe I should swap out for another team for a few hours just to attract some losses.

Self sabotage should not have to be the only viable strategy. Yet here I am.

EDIT: Wonder how long a team of 2*s need to stay up. Maybe 30 min? An hour at most?

Double EDIT: Best team defends seems to be holding. So the sabotage is a failure

Yeah, I was about to say you can't sabotage yourself anymore.

What I did, and it worked very well, was to just keep staying in the top 100. Eventually it'd be all Gamora/R&G/Medusa, then I'd wait one day and get attacked between 5 and 10 times. That'd open up another few wins, then rinse repeat. I did this starting early in the season, and it was not hard to hit 74 wins. There's no downside either, since you can't lose your wins, so the old method of pushing hard at the end is now gone.

What was your main team for sim this season?

I’ve got champ 4* blade, champ peg and im40. Blade and peg are my only champ 4* atm— Medusa and powerman are 2 covers shy. It’s a good team for most comps and smashes any 3* team. I avoid most all champ’d 4* teams.

Ah yeah, that team is a problem in the current 4* meta. Medusa is actually a really good counter to the meta, assuming your Hair Meddle is at level 3. Focus purple then steal all the remaining strike tiles and win. It's not a sustainable strategy (nothing is against the strike tile dynamic trio), but it could work to at least get you a few wins.

Yeah, Medusa is at 2,4,5 and I’ve placed her in lieu of IM40 for a decent team. Mostly I’m just skipping 20-30 times just to find the one team I can beat. Then waiting to get beat once or twice to start it over.

I know the team’s not ideal but my r/g is at like 4 covers so that’s a no go.

I’ll have to try dusa again and go for some of the weaker 4* teams to eke out the last few wins.

Edit: okay part of my problem has been being too chicken to take on 4* teams. Got my wins by being a bit more liberal with who I’m willing to take on. And adding dusa. Can’t wait to champ her. I have the cp but that’d be all my cp.

So I have a 3/1/5 phoenix/jean gray 5*. Time to level her?
