Nintendo Switch Catch-All 2.0

I've been playing Zelda a good bit & despite the smaller screen size & drop in resolution it looks excellent.

Not sure if it's since been patched, but at launch Zelda actually played a lot better in handheld mode. The resolution drop is unnoticeable since the screen is small and the FPS is higher in handheld mode.

There was a post-launch patch (2-3 weeks in) that fixed some of the frame-rate issues in a few areas but not much besides that.

I used to get frame drops all the time randomly all over the world before the patch. Now they almost never happen. Some places like the korok forest are more noticeable because pretty much the whole area ran at a choppy frame rate all the time before.

I'm incredibly picky with framerates, so I held off buying BOTW for a long time. Honestly, I very rarely experience dips. It's a rock-solid 30FPS 95% of the time.

Report: Netflix is ready to launch on Switch, waiting for Nintendo

The Switch console launched without any third party media support for streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon, but that might change soon.

According to a Netflix representative, the company is ready to launch on the Switch and is just waiting for Nintendo’s approval.

Netflix was available on the previous two Nintendo consoles, the Wii and Wii U, so it’s only a matter of time before Switch owners get to watch their favorite content on the platform.

Keep in mind that this isn’t coming from Netflix’s official sources, but from a representative who spoke to a user.

While it’s not official, it’s a no-brainer that Nintendo will eventually add third party streaming services on the console — Nintendo themselves promised back in march that Netflix and others will be available on the console “in time”.

And hopefully it happens sooner than later, and that we can get some of the competing platforms on the Switch as well, such as Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Go, and others.

Netflix on 3ds too

For all yall who thought it was crazy that households would buy multiple Switches, it's already happening and the market is noticing.

Yes but no one ever pays attention to Nintendo handhelds (to their own detriment).

Accessory update! I bought a stylus and it has worked pretty well for games where it easier to play with fine touchscreen control, like Piczle Lines DX. Recommended if you have any games where you think to yourself it would be easier with a stylus.

I just want to draw on Splatoon 2

got a link for the schematic on that?

Sorry, I just saw it on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comm...

You might be able to ask there to see if someone has it.

That will end well with motion control games.

Anyone interested in selling their copy of Isaac? Don’t really want to spend $40 on it for a double dipper.

The Switch is now officially a Nintendo handheld: Jupiter is releasing Picross S on the 28th.

Sweet! I'm glad it's not the 3D version (not my thang, love me some 2D).

I'll be glad when I have both. I managed to finally enjoy handheld for the first time with the Project Octopath Traveler demo. I just haven't been able to enjoy Zelda or Splatoon in handheld mode.

I super duper want another 3D Picross (I think I dumped 70 hours into 2), but I'll definitely get this.

I'm curious to see if they only support controller input, or if they'll allow touch controls. If they do touch, I might be buying a stylus.

When I got Breath of the Wild I wanted to find out what all the Zelda amiibos did in the game and found this exhaustive chart. The creator has since changed it to a more manageable website.

Lovers In A Dangerous Spacetime coming to the Switch on October 3.

Played this a while back. It's a great co-op game.

JJ from 8-4 tweeted this about NES Golf being on every Switch.

The date has to be set to July 11th (anniversary of his death) and you do Iwata's "direct" hand motion to launch it.

Video of it in action https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGN6QXv7sfs&feature=youtu.be&t=104

That's amazing. Truly.

Edit: Oops, this is the Switch thread.

NES Golf easter egg

That's the cutest and coolest thing I've seen in awhile.

That’s probably one of the best Easter Eggs I’ve ever seen. I had no idea Iwata worked on Golf. No wonder Wii Sports had some callbacks to it.

10 Minutes of DOOM on Nintendo Switch Gameplay + Hands-On Impressions

Doom on a Nintendo console just doesn't compute, I'm struggling to believe what I'm seeing.

But damn it looks smooth!

You were saying?

I mean, yeah, I get that. I just feel that from the Wii onwards there was a shift in tone, where games like Madworld and No More Heroes were huge exceptions and not just "another game". The Switch feels like a family console, and it just seems odd. Absolutely no complaints, I'm all for it! Just...So. Odd.

I had loads of fun playing Doom II on GBA back in the day, but it seemed normal then. I'm not sure exactly why I feel weird about it now.

Ahh I don't know, I'm tired and rambling.

Already that thing needs updates. Turns out the new Metroid amiibos work with Federation Force too.
