Guild Wars 2 Catch All

That's really cool to know, Badferret, thanks! I will say, though, that I've been through the complete event successfully several times, and partially many times. I can usually just find a small group running around and join them. I have been playing evenings and weekends, so I guess it's reasonable that there'd be people around, but it's not exactly a howling wasteland most of the time.

Still, this will greatly increase the chances of getting the good chests, so I'll definitely start doing it.

Yeah, I don't know. I've used LFG for some of the old-world stuff but I've never needed to for the HoT meta events. It's possible I'm just getting lucky with instancing but both Verdant Brink and Auric Basin successfully complete most of the time when I play during (real world) night, though I've had them fail often during the daytime. I'm just now playing through HoT for the first time so I can't speak for later zones yet.

Well, VB and AB are repetitively straightforward, though getting tier 4 in on a non-organized VB in my experience is dicey. Tangled Depths and Dragonstand are another matter entirely. If you are not in an organized instance well before the start times of their meta I would be surprised if the maps in question even attempts the meta event.

Clarification... I own the game and have at least one character to 80. May have played the first expansion... don't remember to be honest.

Is there just 2 expansions?

Lol, was logging in to check to see when the last time your toon was on, to help you answer that question, and looks like you are logging in yourself. :)

Thanks for that! Also what are those websites you mentioned for build metas?

For PvP: https://metabattle.com/wiki/Conquest

Though with this week's pre-PoF balance patch, I imagine that is now somewhat out of date.

For high level fractals and raids: http://qtfy.eu/

So I realized I hadn't finished LS 2 so decided to go back and try to knock things out solo. Man some of the missions are incredibly hard. Is Heart of Thorns and LS 3 easier to get through solo? I play late so it's often hard to get a team.

How late is late? I'm thinking of rewarding myself with the expansions when I finish a couple projects this month.

Whoops sorry Clover missed your post - I'm on around 930 -10 Pacific Time.

This is completely true.

I don't have much trouble in VB and AB can be a little tough to do without a dedicated group. But Tangled Depths and Dragonstand absolutely require finding a populated group. Follow BF's instructions and you'll be fine.

Dragonstand is quite a wild experience the first few times you do it! Well worth the time.

Well, tried to register with Zealots, but no confirmation email. Weird. Anyone around who can poke at them? I have not seen any online in the last few days.

Reminder that the first Path of Fire expansion preview is this weekend, and should be available to all accounts be they free to play, core or Heart of Thorns. Sign in, make a new demo character, play through the first mission and ride around on a Raptor mount. Worth doing if you're thinking of pre-ordering the expansion.

The new specialisations demo is next weekend, as I recall.

I'm just gonna stick with Vanilla; I've bought the expansion and I don't want to spoil things for myself (or spend most of the next six weeks waiting for my mount).

Didn't get too far into the demo yet but so far it has a compelling story and gorgeous zones. I also appreciate getting away from bog standard fantasy like WOW.

So for people who are JUST now coming back to the game. Would it be advisable after getting your glide ability to start farming Hero points for the new specializations? I just got enough for the first one over the weekend, and still need to finish leveling it up.

You can do both! Masteries like gliding and mushroom jumping require mastery points which are different than the hero points used to fully unlock specializations.

For either, be on the look out for trains running maps for all the points. These can often be found in the lfg system and ZoS often runs those in guild as well.

I went ahead and applied to ZoS.

Be sure to log in and claim your free Living Story Season 1 Memory Box from the promotions tab of the store. You will receive an RNG number of commemorative tokens to claim LS1 rewards, such as skins, passes and spinal blade components.

I got 30 tokens, my friend got 1 token, so it's all RNG, and I don't recommend paying gems for extra boxes, but free is free. I got enough tokens to craft one of the coloured spinal blade ascended backpacks. YMMV.

Ranalin, did they ever get back to you after you registered your email? I never got a confirmation email...

I got a confirmation email (almost instantly) when i registered to their site, but nothing yet for applying to the guild.

Check your spam, Robear?

Also, haven't looked at ZoS's app process in a long time, but at least in the past, the applicant needed to track down one of the officers listed in their application post for a quick interview. I'm still swamped with RL stuff (and my Oculus Rift) before PoF but if I happen to see either of you guys on, I'll let an officer know.

Nope, not in spam folder. I can't tell if it was blocked at the carrier, though... It would just be nice to have a consistent bunch to play with for the metas and such. I'm not a raider, but I do enjoy a good pack run every now and then...

Is anyone here an elementalist? If so, what are your thoughts on the weaver? I just rolled an ele alt and am enjoying it so far, but from what I'm seeing the weaver is supposedly the new toughest elite spec. Im honestly not sure if I have the skillz to play it despite having more fun with the class than my old guardian.

You should be able to roll a demo Weaver this weekend in PvP or WvW (not sure a about PvE) and try it for yourself.

My main is an elementalist.
But I've just to unlock a single elite in any profession.

Don't judge. I realize I'm not being very helpful.

No judgement on my end - I'm only halfway through unlocking dragonhunter and my ele is only in the mid 50s. What are your thoughts Eleima about the Weaver?

Also I forgot that I can PVP with everything unlocked. I'll give it a try even though I suck at PVP.

You don't actually need to do any PvP, just go to the PvP and try the classes on the target golems.

Geeze. I tried to log in to download and I have a new computer. So it sent my email a verification except I stopped using the email on the account quite a bit ago.

Plus you can't submit a ticket without Logging In :((((

Curse you enablers, I finally picked up HoT. Thinking of boosting a Mesmer - are they in a good place in the WvW and PvE meta?

Actually, you can. They have a way somewhere on their support page to contact them. If you still have any of your game key's or information from your purchase e-mails that should work and they should be able to reset your account within a few hours to a day.

*Edit* Here ya go, choose Select submit your ticket anonymously.

*Second Edit* Your account name is karmajay.7596 which they will ask for.

It's by email and still annoying the hoops they make you go through. I know they were hacked years ago and locked things down, but this is almost overboard.

It's a miracle i remembered my info or i'd probably still be waiting to get in.

can't speak for raids/fractals but otherwise Chronomancers are very popular in group settings.
