Destiny Catch-All

I'm level 40, light roughly 393.

If you don't mind me being that level, add me up !

(I'm playing as well the Destiny 2 Beta.)

How does it scale with mismatched levels? I just hit 13 tonight.

somewhat similar skills kills. So, I'll be "lower" to your level, but with Legendary gear.

It's always better to play in a team, than alone in my book.

It's also just a lot more fun paying with others. I burned out a bit on grinding post 40 after getting my light level to 360 our so because I was tired of running strikes with randoms who didn't say anything.

Yeah, send me invites! I told you to!

Or just a msg, even if I'm in another game, as I want to play Destiny in coop, not alone...

Hey folks!

I'd be up for teaming up on PS4 either on PVE or PVP, getting bored soloing. I'm level 40, light 286 with my warlock.

Username is g_Rm82

I will probably be online after 9PM CST Wednesday-Sunday to get in some Iron Banner action for the last time in Destiny 1.

I hit 40 last night while finishing up the main Taken King quest line. I'm starting to get purples now, and man, they just blow blues out of the water. I need to start grinding to get purples.

Welcome to the end level. Did you get PS+?

If so, we could do the intro to the Iron Lord's together. You'll get 310+ light in no time.

I did wind up getting PS+, I found a deal on a year sub for $40. Unfortunately, I don't own Rise of Iron, and probably won't be getting it. I think at this point, I'll probably just polish off the story missions for the three expansions I have, run the strikes a time or two, and call it a day. I'd like to finish out Bloodborne before D2 hits.

If you need a fellow hunter, and I'm in range...

Same, I need to finish some Taken questline as well. I think they are from Expansion 1-2.

I just picked up a PS4 yesterday, since it's not feasible to take my desktop when I'm on the road. This and UFC 2 were my first purchases. Are GWJ folks still active?

I just reached level 40 and I'm starting to do more multiplayer stuff and trying to raise my light level (259).

My schedule is a bit erratic but I'd be happy to run any strike missions and I'm really enjoying the PvP too. I'm MrWynd on PSN, invite me anytime you see me in Destiny.

Ha! I was talking about Bloodborne. Destiny Hunters are rubbish.

We may be rubbish, but we have stylish cloaks. And you are jealous, you cannot deny it.

They are pretty sweet. Not sweet enough to deal with the awkwardness of triple jump, though.

Spoiler:

All my friends think Hunters have the best jump mechanic. Warlock kung-fu floating for the win!

Warlock jumping got much better for me when I figured out I could hit jump while floating to drop immediately.

I don't have Rise of Iron either, but could be convinced to do some Destiny.

I'm around LL 320 or something. Hit me up on PS4.

I'm at light level 260ish and I'm not sure what I should be doing to get higher light levels?

I've been doing the "random Taken War strike" missions but gaining little. Am I doing the wrong thing?

What should I be doing to get above 320 light and start doing higher level stuff I see on the map?

Thanks!

Start equipping better items gear and weapons. I ran into the same thing where I just was playing the game and had no clue how to continue leveling up. You need to almost constantly be comparing items you are getting and equipping new and better stuff, and your light level will start to skyrocket. The game ramps up items you receive based on what your current light level is.

I think he's more wondering what the intended path is to continue gearing up in the endgame. At 320 light, he's probably pretty aware of how light level works.

But you all might not realize that there are certain 'thresholds' you have to hit before higher light starts dropping. Everything dropping is 290 or below? You have to get to 300 light before stuff will start dropping that's above 300. How do you do that? Raiding is the fastest way, but PVP does it too and I think also the nightfall.

In general this should help you. Though it's talking about rise of iron, anything on this page that you can do, will earn you loot. http://destiny.wikia.com/wiki/Light

Are there any nightfall things available if you don't have Rise of Iron?

I'm not super interested in grinding light, personally. Since I won't be in D1 for more than about a month more, tops, I'll just be doing whatever looks interesting until I hit a hard stop.

Quick way to break a threshold on light level is to use your legendary marks to buy one of the 360 items from the vendors. I recommend the ghost and the class item first as those are the hardest to get drops for.

This is a great tip.

Actually that's a fair point, I forget they sorta leave people behind when the expansions come out. Malkroth's tip is probably the best thing to do. Activities that'll get you legendary marks that you can then buy gear from the vendors.

You will get those, if you're not aware, from the daily quest and daily crucible, your first public event each day, weekly patrol quests. Those can all be done my multiple characters if you have more than one. Then there are Weekly Public Strikes and the Weekly Crucible that can be done 3 times each(per account not character).

Yeah I've found a lot of guides like this talking about 320 Light or above. I've been doing the "Random Taken War Strike" levels and my light rating has slowly increased but it seems like it takes forever so I was hoping there were other missions or something to get things going faster.

I've been paying attention to my equipment and upgrading asap. I've also heard it's best to decrypt engrams one by one and equip anything with higher stats before decrypting the next one so I've been doing that too.

You said "raiding is the fastest way". Is that not what I'm doing? I feel like I'm missing something....

I'm going to look into this tonight. I haven't looked at vendor stuff much. I think I'm around 90 Legendary Marks right now.

Raiding means completing the raids. Difficult missions that requires a full group of 6 players. Are you doing that?

Ahh, ok no. I have never grouped with anyone in Destiny

Did the GWJ clan disband? People are talking about it over on the D2 thread and it doesn't seem to show up on searches in the D2 Companion App.

I'm pretty sure the clans have to be remade for D2(I could be mistaken). Someone with admin rights should be able to check it out and see what's going on with it. I used to have them but I left to join a coworker's thing.
