Nintendo Switch Games Catch-All

No microSD cards, no chat apps, and no goddamn screen protectors, for God's sake. Games!

Yes please. Though all I've been playing that last week is Splatoon 2, and it's got it's own thread too. ^_^

Overwhelmingly been playing Zelda (which has its own thread) and just started getting into Splatoon (which also has its own thread).

I had a couple of matches of SFII that were fun!

Zelda. again! I'm back to the point where I can take on Calamity Ganon whenever i feel like it, and have started roaming around doing random side-quests / shrines.

I did pick up that Kamiko game to try out, on your recommendation though.

I saw someone else in the other thread mention that they got Zelda, the Zelda DLC, and Has Been Heroes with their switch. I believe we got the same bundle. I have Zelda for the WiiU but have this terrible habit of forgetting I own a WiiU since it's down in the entertainment center, so I'm looking forward to having it on the go with the switch.

Other games I'm looking at: Mighty Gunvolt Burst, SnipperClips, Baster Master Zero, Mr Shifty, Wonder Boy, Maybe Splatoon2 and MAYBE Mario Kart though my wife is like 'we have it on wiiU'

My copy of ARMS arrived yesterday, and it's amazing. I'm ridiculously enthusiastic about it; it's the kind of fighting game I've been wanting to play for literally decades. I haven't tried it with motion controls yet, and I'm still figuring out my favorite character, but wow, it's fantastic.

My wife and I also finished the 2P mode in Snipperclips, which was also a lot of fun and incredibly charming. I love that we were able to fire up a two-player game right out of the box without having to buy another controller. I think we'll probably get Overcooked next.

I admit that I got considerably more excited for Blaster Master Zero when I happened to see that they have DLC characters from other indie games, like Gunvolt and Shantae and Shovel Knight. I'm a real sucker for that kind of thing.

Showed my wife the trailer for Overcooked yesterday. "I'd play that with you", she said. So I've just texted her to turn the Switch on so it'll start the download, having just purchased it.

I know this is old hat, I've done a similar thing on 360 a billionty times, not to mention on Steam too, but it still feels like living in the future.

Overcooked...

1 player - poor.
2 players - good.
3+ players - awesome.

That's on PS4 - I'd imagine a perfect fit for Switch and that more players = more fun still applies.

Zelda is the mainstay in our household.

Overcooked is on deck, yay release day!

Arms is a possibility in the near future, as is Splatoon.

Snipperclips has been fun but the central mechanic (OTHER person must clip you) requires more coordinated cooperation than I expected based on the 'zany loose fun' art style.

Already got it slated for 4-player mayhem for our Saturday night Game Nights

I have already played through all of Overcooked co-op on PS4, but I might get it again on Switch. It's a perfect game for a quick 2-player portable session.

FTFM. 2 player is a different experience than 3+, but it's still fantastic. 2 player gets a bit hectic, but it allows you to really nail the flow of a level in a way that feels great once you and your partner get a bit of practice in. 3+ players is just pure chaos

Welp, just picked up Overcooked. Thanks for all the recommendations. I think the wife, kids, and I will love it.

I've waited for the Switch version to get Overcooked, and I'm pretty excited to try it out. Just have to wait until I get my eshop cards from that BestBuy sale they had at the beginning of the week.

I'm giddy to get Switch Skyrim.

Mighty Gunvolt Burst is such a good Megaman clone. Love it, though a couple of the levels have some BS design choices. Guess that's true to its roots.

Arms is the only Switch game I actually kind of regret buying. I'll give it another go soon once my Splatoon fever wears off.

Blaster Master is also great. I have an unreasonable amount of nostalgia for the original game though, so I don't know how much that's tainting my opinion.

Apparently, you didn't get Super Bomberman R.

Where's the buyer's remorse for Bomberman come from, RNG?

I've had my eye on it for when it's price drops to something more reasonable....

Zelda really has it's hooks back into me due to the path tracker. I have missed huge amount of the map and am now constantly shrine and korok seed hunting with the mask.

I am pretty interested in Uncooked but I think it will ultimately frustrate me.

LEGO Worlds Gets September Release Date for Nintendo Switch

*Drawback being the PS4 and Xbox1 versions are sitting at about 70% on Metacritic so it does seem like an incredible game.

Awesome. Thanks for saving me $$.

I've really been enjoying playing Disgaea 5 Complete on the Switch. Absolutely perfect pick-up-and-play game! It's just the right level of stupid to distract me if I'm feeling stressed out.

Looking forward to heading over to the local gaming shop next month to pick up a copy of Monster Hunter XX. I already know that the Japanese is going to kick my ass, but this way I can say that I'm studying and gaming at the same time. Hehe!

aaand I just completed BoTW. Again. Aside from mopping up some side-quests and shrines (25 shrines left at last count, including that annoying desert island).

The desert island is one of the best bits in the game.

It's a great concept saddled with bad UI. And a bit buggy, but that's to be expected when everything you see is made of Lego pieces. Literally this time.

Apologies keep popping in to compare Switch releases to ps4 versions... But think doing folk a service to warn off Lego Worlds.

I'd go further than saying not an incredible game, it's not even a good game, some critics are being generous there.

Building is very frustrating and nothing seems to work as it should, finding stuff needed for progression is also frustrating and map next to useless.
Plenty of other little niggles don't have the time to list.

I bought this to play with my 6 year old. We fired it up and looked promising for 30 minutes, after an hour or so in I wanted to chuck it in the bin and could not play any longer. It actually made me mad to try. My son loved it for a little longer but soon got bored and frustrated too... It was traded in after two weeks of limited play.

If you're expecting a cross between the great Lego action adventure games and Minecraft... That's kind of what they're going for... Just without the fun or quality of either! Can't recommend this at all...

Definitely don't get this as an alternative to Minecraft... No way!

Anyone tried Infinite Minigolf? on other platforms?

It just popped up on the European Estore today and looks interesting.

I dearly hope it's good. There's something about mini-golf games -- Maybe because I played a lot of Golf on N64 with my father as a child, but it's pure comfort-gaming for me.

Would love to hear some thoughts from anyone who bought it. It certainly looks alright!

All the reviews I've looked up of the PS4 version seem to all be in the "above average / over 70%" bracket. I've still got credit in my Eshop account - might just take a gamble on it.

I just got a Switch since I'll be on a plane for ~40 hours or so next month. It came with Zelda, I figure once my SD card gets here I'll probably buy Disgaea 5 and Shovel Knight. I would totally buy Stardew Valley again, but alas that seems to be in limbo right now.

Oh hey, I just bought this today. No idea when I'll get the time to play it, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I bounced off 3, hard, after playing a lot of 1 and 2. I've heard very good things about this version though -- and hey, on a portable device, why the hell not?

Also, Stardew seems ideal on Switch. I hope it doesn't cost a whole lot, but I'm definitely keen on double-dipping. I've even stopped playing the PC version in anticipation -- don't want to burn out, now!

I agree. Can't wait to dive back into Skyrim.

Right now my most anticipated game is MARIO+Rabbids. That game is perfectly in line with my tastes.
