Life's simple problems (that are actually hard for some reason)

For about two weeks now I have been looking for a juice that is not cranberry, grape or orange. I have been to multiple stores and found a total of three (four if you count prune). I finally settled on an orange pineapple mix. In retrospect this was an absurd amount of effort for one mixed juice.

What simple problems have been oddly difficult for you recently?

Man, I am sure I can toss out my own simple problem - like choosing which game from the pile to play. BUT, StealthPizza, I instead come to you with a juice combo that is the BEST I have ever had.

Cran-pineapple. Yes, I know, Cranberry is in there. But seriously, this was amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing.

I really like carrot juice. It's surprisingly good.

Getting up early enough to not have stressful morning and still be at work on time.

Seriously, how hard can it be?

Coming up with dinner ideas. I've had, I'm sure, literally hundreds if not thousands of different meals in my lifetime. And yet, any time I have to think of dinner ideas for the next few days I invariably think of the same 5 or 6 things. Why is it so hard to think of other ideas?

100x this. I even bought an app where I can input meal ideas and it will pick for me but I end up disagreeing with my pick without picking anything else.

In my case, it's because my wife has utterly fallen off the "deciding-what-to-have-for-dinner" bandwagon, and I'm sick of it being my job by default, and I'm really f*cking sick of her being disappointed when there's no dinner plan.

On the plus-side, the meal delivery services (Hello Fresh / Sunbasket) are a boon for this problem.

I will trust you on this. But I am not sure i am running out to the store to try it either. I will keep this in mind for future shopping trips.

Going to bed at a decent time. Evenings are completely taken up by dinner and toddler processes. By the time the kid is down it's practically time for me to go to sleep, but I just can't bring myself to go to bed before 10pm. And even that is a challenge.

This is where the index card cookbook helps us. When we can't decide what to have, we pull a card and that's it. If anyone objects, they have to supply the dinner idea, so most times we just go with it. It's harder to decide.

My problem is calling. Anyone. I have no problems meeting people in person and making a good show of friendliness, and put a cable or signal between us and I just don't want to call. I don't even have to dial these days! Ugh.

I've got both of these problems.
Cooking is mostly okay so long as I'm feeling in the mood to cook; I just cook what I want to eat and don't worry about her not wanting it (which is almost never a problem anyways). The issue comes when I'm too tired to cook dinner or just not in the mood to do so. When I leave making dinner to her we'll have sandwiches or cereal for dinner.
Calling people I've "solved" by convincing myself of things like "I don't need to go to the doctor" and "my eyesight hasn't changed enough to need a new prescription." Also that it's normal based on the amount of other people posting memes about their inability to do even basic adulting. I only go to the dentist because a few years ago my tooth hurt bad enough to break through that and they schedule the next appointment while I'm still in their chair.

Wait, are you me? Add in every job that doesn't directly involve caring for the baby, and then you're me.

Do you encounter traffic while hang gliding into work?

Good one!
