Edit: Huh... did the counting of industries change with the update? I suddenly show 137 industries at 3 stars, with 100 cities completed in the territory. I was kind of proud of maintaining a .5 ratio at the beginning of the variety pack so I wonder when the other 50+ upgrades popped.

I think there's a bug with that fixed/industries calculation... possibly ever time you load the game it adds some to that value. I'm up to 765 roads fixed!

I just came back to post this as well... 206 industries complete and 320 roads fixed.. overnight. Bugs!

I expanded north first, not west, but I am facing the same difficulties you are. You basically have to establish all the quarantine industries on the other the other side of the wall.

I don't worry too much about optimal placement of anything... I ship goods halfway across Australia without another thought. As you unlock more speed ups (speaking of which, Brisbane is north) you can worry less about the optimal configuration because there's less waiting for everything

My main difficulty with expanding North was I could never find a place to drop the industries I needed. But I just figured out why. I haven't unlocked them yet. I don't know how many industries I actually have unlocked, but some of the core things I never bothered to upgrade to level 3.

Looking at the industries page, well over half of the industries don't have a 3 next to them. I have 285 level 3 industries (according to the score at the top) but a lot of those must be repeated because there are so many things I haven't even earned the right to build yet.

Do you not have to do the capitals in order to get the speed unlocks?

I did. I went a little west to Canberra, got that one finished then headed north from there on out.

I have a separate road crew that unlocks and explores, so they are still pushing west, but for the most part I haven't returned to clear towns there.

I only ask because Sidney is the second capital I'm supposed to do for the bonus, and I'm nowhere near ready for that beast.

I noticed a lot of folks here have been leaving reviews of the game, and I wanted to thank y'all for helping spread the love.

Veloxi, thank you for bringing it to our attention. I'm still deep into it. It's going on the everyday rota for the foreseeable future, and I would not have bothered with it if not for you (and Hockosi) getting me into it.

Yay! Happy to spread the joy that is this game.

Finished my first region today. Southern Sydney. Felt damned great. Now I'm gonna try to upgrade all the industries in the area before moving onto Central Sydney.

To put it into perspective, Veloxi, how many towns do you have done? The left-hand number on the top center banner.

Yeah, I'm curious about that number for everyone too. I'm at 138. I'm sure Rezzy's is insane.

Thing is, though, you can put a ton of hours in this game and not complete a proportional number of cities. I've spent a lot of time recently just developing lots of industries to level 1 and 2 to build up infrastructure for completing cities. Managed a few level 3's too.

Don't care, it's all so good. So zen.

44, that's it.

I only have 95 cities and 149 roads fixed. That's like...half the cities right?

FYI on the steam forums the developer said he'd add something to check on start-up and fix that road repair tutorial bug.

Oh, okay. I thought you'd be way ahead of us, Veloxi.

If I didn't have a blog/YouTube channel/Podcast thing to focus on, I just might.

Sadly my play-time is not exactly indicative of my progress. In Hawaii (Thanks again by the way!) I have one city. In Australia I have 144. I tend to focus on building up industries and then moving on rather than completing the cities. I actually just finished my first region yesterday by realizing that I had warehoused everything I needed for a whole bunch of cities.

Edit: Uuhm... Is moving between areas bugged as well? Switching back to Hawaii I suddenly no longer see my industry upgrades. Going to reload.

I just 100% my first region (South Sidney) and am unreasonably pumped about it. Had to come share.

Quote is not Edit2: Reloading fixed it. Also I was looking at the right number instead of the left. The left I have 159.

I'm at, I think, 115 towns. Feels like a lot.

Now I'm somewhat ashamed of spending too much time with this game... I am at 480 cities in Australia. I was hoping to be over 50% by the end of the July 4th holiday, but I took a detour over the last few days and got a lv 3 version of every industry so I could build them around the map.... that took a while.

Right? Totally pumped.

Glad to see others kicking ass as well!

In the spirit of the game: "Crikey!"

I'm at 110 cities - I got side tracked into building breweries in as many towns as I could.

So many weird sidetracks!

The world consumes about 206 million tons of beer each year - can Australia produce it all? Only a lot of time will tell...

Just completed my first region, after 76 hours of game time.

The last city took me over five hours.

I hate (read: love) this game.

This sounds right up my street. Just commenting here to remind me the game exists for my next round of game purchases

Yay for the hate love! And yowza, which city was it?

Completed meaning lv 3 all industries? Is there a bonus for getting level 3 in all industries? There is a bonus for completing all the towns, but I haven't even got 100% in a whole region.

Veloxi wrote:

Mililani Town. Honolulu County is largely self-contained, except for this town. Thus, I had to build up several L3 resources on other islands so I could build them on Oahu. Several 27-count requirements in the town, and no inter-island travel for anything over 8-tons. Just a big time suck. A long, wonderful time-suck. Hawaii is a great place to get a grasp of the game because of it's compact nature. A pity it's DLC.

Just the towns at this point. Still several L3's to go. I think I need to go back to Oz to get a 2x-speed boost. Doing all of this at 1x is getting time-prohibitive at this point. I've been off since Friday, and I go back to work tomorrow.
