Name that GAME Thread

Bomberman: Link to the Past

Yes that is a Minecraft Creeper, and no it's not Bomberman: LttP.

Continued reminder to not URL-cheat. You basically got it already, though, so I'm going to put a few more fun screenshots up quickly.

Holy hell how many genres did this game cross?

Oh I see where I messed up. It's not Evoland, it is Evoland 2! I forgot it had a sequel.

Welcome to the world of indie games, my friend. Toss in as many nostalgia-filled throwbacks and other video game references as you can! People will love it!

Evoland 2 is a sincerely great game - one of my favorites from last year, largely due to it hitting basically every nostalgic bone I had. Definitely take a look at it when it inevitably hits a $5 sale on Steam in a few weeks.

CptDomano, you're up!

(Please let it be a console game, please let it be a console game, please let it be a console game...)

You'll take your '80s ZX Spectrum game that was programmed in a basement and only sold at swap-meetups, and you'll like it!

One of my favorite games on my old Commodore64 turned out to be a small side project that was never actually published or really released. I have no idea how it got out into the wild. I know this because on my old blog I wrote about it and put up some pictures I found, the creator of it (who at that point was working in the industry for a big publisher) contacted me and told me about how he created it as a kid. That was really neat.

It's on sale now at gog.com 75% off. I didn't recognize many of those screenshots aside from the Evoland guy, guess I didn't get that far with it.

Did we lose you, CptDomano? Maybe it's time for free play.

Ah sh*t, my bad! Yeah, free play it up!

Harvester.

A bad game for a bad genre.

Spoiler:

Just kidding, FMV is amazing, and it deserves so much better than that trash.

I actually had to pick the least objectionable screenshot. There are some doozies for it out there. You're up, Santa!

You're not wrong. Part of me wanted to let it ride, just to see what shots you'd pick. But every other part absolutely did not want to see them.

This one should be easier than my last round, though maybe not the first shot:

Dear Ester?

That's the one.

Yey!!!

A game I liked probably more than I should have.

My first thought was Miasmata, but Dear Ester is more likely. People have actually played it.

Final Fantasy: The Compensating!

Is that Amalur?

You got it Garion

Xenoblade Chronicles X? I'm actually not sure, some of that looks different from what I remember in that game.

Da!

Woohoo!

Tokyo Mirage Sessions!

Still pretty busy over here, so another free play

Was there a remake of Beach Head?

There was, in 2002.
