After getting the Sentinels of the Multiverse app I cannot go back to the cardboard version at all. It's a game I've always enjoyed enough to look past how fiddly it is. Once I could have that automated though I just don't want to deal with it anymore.

I just bought this! Looking forward to giving it a go.

I'd like to know your thoughts on this. Haven't played it yet but interested.

Put a little over an hour into it already, going to be good value I reckon.

Great! My wife and I love the physical game. Can you play multiplayer over the net?

The iOS implementation is pretty flawless. If you like the game the app is great. The one weakness, for me, is as a solo game I don't find the actual game as entertaining.

My wife and I play a number of board games on my iPad together. Our current games include Ascension, Ticket to Ride, Catan, and Pandemic.

I just picked up Race for the Galaxy but was somewhat disappointed in the game mechanics. I was hoping for something deeper for the price tag. I plan to teach my wife but I don't think this game will be something she would enjoy more than the previously mentioned games.

Does anyone have any other recommendations? I'd say pandemic and Ticket to Ride are the current favorites. We burned out on Catan last year and it's not as fun trading with npcs.

Other recommendations my wife and I enjoy playing:

Carcassone. -smooth as butter. Beautiful.

Lords of Waterdeep. - superb. Nice digital implementation

Lost cities-- the gateway game. Good digital version.

You can, there's a multiplayer lobby. No asynchronous play though.

I'm the opposite, based on playing the app pretty sure will be picking up the physical.

Thank you. The physical edition is great. Tremendous solid currency chips to play with.

Can +1 to those have seen recommending Osirim. Well worth the 99p paid on Android. Yet another game can see purchasing the physical at some point, along with Jaipur and Splendor, after tablet test runs.

Ah well... if had held off a few days could have downloaded Onirim for nowt. Asmodee are giving it away free for a couple days, looks like offer ends tomorrow.

Just DL'd it. Still free as of posting this.

There's a crowdfunding campaign currently going on for digital Flash Point. iOS version isn't one of the rewards, but looks like something to keep an eye on.

I would love to see a digital flashpoint. I have and enjoy the physical game but I find setup to be a bit of a pain and would probably play it more digitally.

Also spotted Sentinels of the Multiverse base game on sale for $2 on iOS and Android.

Good lookin' out, man. That's an amazing sale.

Does anybody know if any of the IAP's for any of those games is on sale also?

Nice. I'm going to grab this. Any advice on the IAP? Looks like I could spend a lot of money if I wanted to (I don't!).

I'd just start out with the base set for now to get the hang of the game. If you like it, I'd definitely get the season passes since each set in the physical game adds a healthy amount of variety to the game.

Going to grab Sentinels myself I reckon. I think the sale is on because Villains of the Multiverse IAP has just released.

Is Sentinels a 1v1 card game?

Nope, co-op. You and friends vs. the bad guy.

You can also play it by yourself, playing a team of heroes vs a villain. Definitely pick up the base set if you like card games and comic books. I like it well enough that I've bought all of the expansions, so I have a seemingly infinite variety of combos of heroes, villains, and environments I can play. I've definitely got my money's worth out of the game.

The theme-ing is really great. All of the various hero and villain decks have neat mechanics that really mesh with their different powers and backstories.

I love Sentinels so much. Apple messed up their release system in this patch though and i can only play the base game and none of my DLCs. Word is they are working on it, so fingers crossed it will be fixed sooooon.
I only play it solo. I find it so engaging!

From Mysterium on android play store...

"*** HAPPY SUMMER! Download Mysterium and in-app purchase at a very special price from June 22 through 5 July***"

One of those that's inspired by table top games, rather than a digital conversion.

Age of Rivals is a civ-building game whose main mechanism is card drafting. Feels like a CCG but no IAP just unlock stuff as you play.

Launch price of £0.89 / $0.99 on iOS and android. I've picked it up and have got monies worth already. Deal ends today I believe.

Thanks for posting this. I'll have to grab a couple of these when I get home.

I was fortunate enough to get an invite to the 7 Wonders beta on iPad over the weekend!

The UI is slightly rough but the developer acknowledges that and says updates are coming; they are focused on sever stability for multiplayer at the moment. In the meantime, it is perfectly playable if you're already familiar with the physical version of the game.

The beta includes a single-player mode and synchronous Internet multiplayer. It also includes the Cities and Leaders expansions. (There doesn't seem to be any asynch multiplayer at the moment; I'm not sure whether or not that's coming later.)

7 Wonders is probably my all-time favorite board game, so it's really cool to have it on iPad. I was able to bang out quite a few games against AIs; it's fun to have such game take only maybe 5 minutes, instead of the 30+ that's more typical of a session of the physical game.

Oh, i should have asked in this thread about age of rivals^^
I'll sing up for MP tonight and add my user name!

This is all slightly hilarious because the prime attraction of 7 Wonders is that you can play a slightly complex Civ-building game with 6+ people in under an hour. I think the app is a great idea, but it's not as if FFG published a streamlined app for TI3!

I'm sad I missed out on the deal. Going for $3 now which isn't a ton but I've purchased a number of games lately. How are you liking it after a few weeks?

Age if Rivals is great. I've been doing a game or two a night since i got it. One word of warning, if you play for a while and then decide to sign up for an account it resets all your stats. it isn't a biggie as the coin system is just to ease you into the amount of cards there are (and it is very generous) but you might be in for a surprise!
