Post a Picture - Something You Created!

That is a really good example of giving character and emotion to a stylized animal without being cartoonish.
The goo invokes shivers

thanks

That's amazing! How long did it take you?

Whatever the duration of "Groundhog day" is - I had that running on the other monitor

So, couple of hours probably.

Well, if you're Phil Connors... then it took a really long time

pyx do you ever do commission work? Every once in awhile something pops into my head and I want to have it drawn, but I have the art skills of a potato. I've always wanted to find someone that I can just pay to draw stuff from time to time.

Yeah, I've done a couple of things for people here in the past.

Im pretty much done with coursework for the summer now so it's not like I wouldn't have plenty of time available over the next couple of months either!

I'm thinking I'll probably jump on board the 52-Week Illustration Challenge. This week's theme is "Red"

Nice pic. Might have a go at that challenge for the odd week here and there myself, help give the doodlings a bit of focus.

Quite like Doodlers Anonymous as a tips, challenges and sharing site. Been a long while since contributed anything though.

Catching up with the 52 week challenge will be a...well...a challenge. :O

But, here's week 1: "Whimsy"

To be honest, whimsy is not my strong suit. But I think my trio of Traffic Gnomes count

You're really talented, Pyxi!

Pyx got skills!

Nice.

Have joined that 52 week challenge, thanks for pointing it out Pyx.

Recent Moleskine doodlings...

... a challenge theme to work toward now and again might be an idea.

Also signed up to Doodler's Anonymous again, been so long I don't even the think the email I originally signed up with still exists

Ooo nice doodle!

Few more of those and you've got yourself an adult colouring book in the making!

Bottom gnome needs to trim those pubes.

"Trimming pubes" is a key component of a bottom gnome's job description.

Some days having no context is the best.

I'd respond to the above but i am totally ker-nackered having been on my feet all day helping get our end of year exhibition sorted out. Turned out pretty good though, and got through the opening night without any major disasters, so that was good!

Glad someone else thought that

Also glad someone else felt the need to say it

Made some doughnuts for a Memorial Day bbq. grenn was very excited.

The first person to eat one exclaimed, "It's still warm!" Told them they were only minutes old. I fried them, boxed them up, and went right over to the party.

Video

They look delicious.

My wife wants me to make donuts so bad, but she won't eat them so I haven't yet. She wants to consume them with her nose.

Holy hell I want several of those right now...

There's got to be a Yankee candle for that, surely?

Ha! A simulation is never as good as the real thing!

This is a video project I've started working on. This version is a proof of concept. I've taken 8 minutes and added stills. My software is basic and I don't seem to be able to soften the transitions between shots.

There are two recordings of my Granddad being interviewed on the radio. He was fully blind mid way through his life but carried on gardening with great success. Too much success when it came to marrows; many of which we received. The photos are a mixture of shots from my father's greenhouse and bits of plant life from walks. I've tried not to show too many exotic hanging baskets, etc because that could give the impression he could do that kind of thing.

I'm thinking of heading to the local allotments and taking pics there.

Edit: Eventually I'm going to some up with a less sappy title.

oho! apparently my local Waterstones accepts bookmarks to sell on behalf of local folks...I must investigate further when I get a second.

Might be another summer project for me to sink my teeth into.

*alas, when I asked in-store, it turns out they USED to do this but stopped about a year ago. Curses!

Oh well. I still have some ideas for bookmarks based on classic science fiction and horror stories, so maybe I'll stick at it and put them on Etsy or something.
