Name that GAME Thread

CptDomano, correct! What a game that was. I played it when I was 14 and my parents probably would have been horrified if they knew what was in it.

What was funny was that my dad and I used to play old adventure games together when I was that young (I think I was 13?) and as we were playing there were many moments where we both kind of just stared at the screen, then at each other.

"Yeah, don't tell mom I let you play this, okay?"

So that's what's wrong with you, eh?

Your current avatar is fitting...

Well, one of the many, many things that are wrong with me, yes

Another hint:

I dunno what it is, but I'd probably play it today.

Some sort of D&D city manager or something. I don't recall ever playing it, but if it's true then someone needs to make a new version of it cause it sounds cool.

Okay, it went too long so to avoid killing the thread...

Lucky for you, a trip on over to GOG will let you do just that!

Free Play!

That's pretty much what it is, yes. You create a "party" of five leaders that each have their own tiny cities to build up (it's not that involved), and based on the class of the leader, the units you produce you will use to go battle Mindark's army. I never really got the hang of it when it first came out (mostly due to being probably 11 at the time), but I really enjoyed it.

Free play? I got you baby bird.

God dammit that looks so familiar. Graphics seem early 2000s, maybe even late 90s. Brain hurts... not enough sleep last night.

I want to say Tribes 2. First I thought Tribes 1, but it looks too high res to be that.

Not Tribes 2. Came after.

Ok, then I know. But I don't want to hog the guesses.

Guess away!

Unreal Tournament 200...4?

Yup!

BloodNet?

Oh holy sh*t, I think you're right, Alz! I was trying to figure out what adventure game that was from!

I remember that font more than the screenshot. Dreamweb! I was busy with school in those days and didn't play many games from that era, but I remember reading about it in a magazine.

That's its name! I was digging through all the cyberpunk games but that didn't stick out. I remember that face on screen. Such a weird choice!

Speaking of weird, how about this one?

LOL, I spent way too much time Skitchin'. I probably rented that game so many times it would have been cheaper to buy it.

Edit: We'll stick with somewhat weird games... Loved playing this one, as it's the only game I've seen that really had a fluid combat system that switched between using guns and pulling off awesome melee combo moves.

It's such a game of the '90's, purple rollerblades and all

Is that, uhhh, Oni?

Yup. Loved that game when I bought it. It had a pretty good story too, though it's been so long that I don't remember it well.

Yeah, I seem to remember really enjoying Oni. The ranged/melee fusion was novel and well done.
