Kick cancer's ass, Doc!

I remember you guys hosting a S&T a few years back, and making me feel most welcome. It was great meeting you both, and I still remember your kindness. F*ck cancer, indeed. I hope that my small donation helps a little. Stay strong, brother!

Tear it up, Doc. You've got a lot of people behind you, and you're going to kick sixteen kinds of ass.

So sorry to hear about your diagnosis Doc. Please hang in there and keep your spirits up. Every bit of hope and good vibes helps.

We are of similar age, and my dad is a bowel cancer survivor, so I really feel for you. And I'm really rooting for you.

Hey everyone...

Again, from the bottom of my heart, I just want to say thank you for all your support! It means the world to us right now. The kind words, the monetary donations and the shout out to this post on the podcast!

Doc had a scan last week to see how his 5 liver mets were responding to the aggressive chemo. We were expecting them to shrink, as the more toxic chemo he chose had better results with shrinkage. We were devastated to hear the results, that not only have they not shrunk, they have grown. This surprised both of us and the doctor, and not in a good way. It means it isn't working. That all these weeks of horrific side effects, sickness and sacrifice seem to be essentially for nothing.

The plan going forward is to switch out one drug of his chemo regimen, and do another scan in 6 weeks. At that point we may be looking at entering some clinical trials, changing course or approach and foregoing the whole body chemo and treating the liver mets individually with some options....there are things to explore, but the original and best plan of trying to shrink them and remove surgically is not on the table any longer.

This week I plan on having Doc ask the Dr for his medical marijuana card, to try and relieve some of the harsh side effects going on! And this week starts the new chemo. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers!

Oh no, so sorry to hear that the mets have grown. That just f*@#€'ing sucks, no other way to spin. Sending positive energy and hoping switching chemo drugs helps.

f*ck. Like Eleima said here's hoping the tweaks help!

Damn it. So sorry to hear the first treatment was unsuccessful. Hoping the new options spark better directions.

I'm so sorry to hear that the first regimen didn't work out. Fingers crossed the next one will have better results. I am really glad you're not giving up. You guys are part of our collective GWJ family.

Ugh, so sorry to hear this news. Hopefully the next regimen will be more effective. If you can get the cancer to shrink with any treatment an aggressive liver surgeon will still remove it if he/she thinks they can get it all. And sounds like you still have more options. All digits crossed for you.

Dang. All my best hopes and prayers!

Good luck. We're sending best wishes to you and your family.

Cancer sucks, but you are awesome. Hopes and prayers for sure, and donation too. Keep on fighting and keep moving forward. The last treatment wasn't it? Well, time for the next one. I've only known you virtually here and in games, but you are a great person and you ain't no quitter!

Thank you to everyone. I love the continued support and of course will still be carrying on the fight despite the news. I think it's still early in the game and we remain hopeful.
We'll be talking soon with a surgeon who specializes in the liver to see what needs to happen for resection to be a possibility. Some clinical trials may be an option too if the systemic results don't turn around.

Just keep looking at your avatar, man.

Here's hoping for the best Doc.

Keep being awesome!
