They've also announced that this will be the final season.

My thoughts exactly.

Sad to hear. Figured it wouldn't haven't a long run but I thought it would get at least 2 more seasons.

I watched the trailer again.

At some point, I will have wild speculations but as for right now:

1.) The Gang Scores Some X-Wings.

I'm in total denial. It's just NOT true.

That new animated series does look incredible, though.

I thought it was well known that Jar Jar joins them in season 4 and they're all killed as a result (Mesa sorry for terrible joke)

I'm sad it's going to end, but they get to go out on their terms with these characters, which is huge. Plus, I can't remember the project lead's name, but I believe he's indicated the team will be doing a new Star Wars animation project. Hopefully this means we haven't seen the last of some of these characters.

Dave Filoni. And that's my hope. At the very least an Ahsohka show would be cool.

Dave Filoni is the best thing that happened to Star Wars in the past 10 years.

Spoiler:

Ok. Disney is REALLY the best thing. But Dave is a godsend.

Holy sh*t that looks so good.

Last season. Just a few episodes left to turn Ezra into Snoke.

Holy sh*t! We nailed it. We brought up every one of those points, except the specific movie that inspired the battle. Good job everyone.

It seems obvious in hindsight, since Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress had a lot of his themes paralleled in the first movie.

Saw the trailer for the upcoming season and was kinda sad that we see X-wings but no Z-95 Headhunter.

Playing X-wing VS Tie Fighter and X-Wing alliance growing up, I was always fond of the old out-dated starfighter.

Was hoping for a subplot where you'd see a rebel cell fielding old Z-95's, ARC-170's, or even Naboo starfighters, and the crew of the Ghost will have to somehow get them the plans for the X-Wing to replace their aging fleet.

NEW SEASON! last season

Life is bittersweet.

I was surprised this morning when I got not one, but TWO new episodes! Me and the little are going to get our Rebels on tonight!

It looks like they're doing two episodes a week.

And broadcast all day on Disney XD.

And they're going to take an almost two-month long break after the mid season. Seriously, these shows really know how to kill any interest they generate.

I imagine they get kids to obsess over them for those brief periods that they're showing all the time, which means toy & merch sales go up.

I mean, there's got to be a reason every kids network operates this way now, and I can't believe it's just inertia.

If there's a break in the schedule around Dec 15, that's probably just so focus remains on the Star Wars movie.

The break starts in mid-November and doesn't end until some time in January.

This article on Steven Universe's erratic schedule might give some insight into what Disney XD is attempting to do with Rebels. I imagine Disney XD and Cartoon Network operate on similar principles and demographic targets.

=/

/sigh

The worst part about the Stevenbombs is that my DVR is a dummy and the 2 hour block of episodes counts as a new thing. So my DVR is filled with episodes I've already seen.

Rebels is essentially that-lite. 2 regular runs with a mid-season break? That sucks for us but at least it splits the difference between regular episodes and pull-my-hair-out SU.
