Get out of the how do you like me now drama, move up 15 spots and get an early 2nd rounder?

Assuming there's a bonafide can't miss player at 2 (that doesnt actually exist) I'm making that trade.

You like that!

Vikings don't pick up option on Adrian Peterson, so he'll be a free agent.

Fixed. Probably.

Although the Giants are a distinct possibility as well.

Wouldn't think that would be necessary or even a good idea with Zeke on the roster. AP is (googles) 31. He might be able to do two more years but won't be near as productive. Maybe Seattle could use him?

And the Panthers, assuming they're back in the business of collecting old RBs (and lots of them).

Spoiler:

Not the Panthers. AP has too many character issues, which is an automatic disqualifier in Charlotte these days.

I like the implication that it has to be a "good idea" for Jerruh to do it.

That aside, Zeke's presence would do nothing to deter me from signing Peterson if I were inclined to do so. Zeke had 344 carries last year between the regular season and postseason, and he missed a regular season game. That rate needs to be brought under control, especially with his penchant to hurdle and expose himself to some danger.

I wouldn't hesitate to rotate Zeke and AP the way the Jaguars did Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew back in the late '00s. Those Jaguar teams ran the ball 500-520 times a season. Last year, Dallas led the league in rushing attempts with 499. They need a legitimate rotational back if they're going to maintain that rate.

Putting AP behind that line is also a great idea. It'll make him look like he has gas in the tank. Also, he'll get to play against the Vikings twice this year. That's gotta be of interest to him.

Personally, I think it's a great fit as it'll allow the Cowboys to insulate Dak some more. I'm still not entirely sold on the kid as I'm afraid he'll come back to earth after his record setting rookie year.

I'm also waiting for Russell Wilson to come back down to earth, so maybe I'm a slow learner.

Can we start a new offseason thread so we can move on from the painful and brutal memories of the last season.. in fact Certis just delete every thread from last season so we can start recovery.
