Firefly - Love it!

No wonder I haven't seen her. I don't watch any of those. (I did watch most of the first season of Castle...)

There's going to be a Serenity adult coloring book coming out in October.

Adult coloring book sounds like something different than what that link actually is.

Jewel's guest piece in Castle was pretty bad. Not the acting but by how shocking short it was and how her character so obviously fit into the episode.

Well, Castle is over now. With really only Zoe having a good enough gig (on Suits) to probably not leave, maybe there is room for Amazon or Netflix to buy Firefly from Fox and make new episodes?

Heck, at this point I'd settle for a decent video game of it - maybe a Telltale story?

Baldwin has a steady gig on The Last Ship, which just started its new season.

True, but that's a short show - only 10 episodes. They can work around that, right?

I'd love to add that ALL the cast members (and a bunch of other nerd celebrities) have cameos in Alan Tudyk's Con Man series.

I think it's just been too long. By the time they could get it off the ground, it would be more than 15 years later. They couldn't possibly just do the same stories, and they couldn't really do prequels to the movie, either.

Like it or not, I think Firefly is really and truly dead.

Dead and buried, much like Star Trek...

erh, Stargate?

Star Wars?

Oh, got it, its not Starfly, so its dead.

Did you watch season 1? Most of Firefly's cast did have cameos, and there are plenty of other celebrity cameos, too.

Firefly people that appear (besides Alan):
• Nathan (Mal)
• Gina (Zoe)
• Jewel (Kaylee)
• Sean (Simon)
• Summer (River)
• Joss Whedon

See the IMDb page for the other cameos.

I believe he did, since that was exactly what he loved to add to the conversation.

I guess I misunderstood McIrish's post, then. Sorry!

I thought he was saying that was what he wanted to happen in Con-Man, since he said "ALL the cast members", which is not true. (Three of the main cast do not appear in season 1.)

Apart from the snark, good post.

Of those, the only one that's close is Star Trek into Star Trek: The Next Generation. And I might be wrong here, but I don't see the Browncoats as even close to the numbers and obsession levels of Trekkies in the 70s and 80s.

The Star Trek revival was the movies, not TNG. People here aren't hoping for a new show in the Firefly universe with all different characters.

The first Star Trek movie was ten years after the show ended.

In before "They already made a Firefly movie."

I would be down for an animated firefly series so long as it was made for adults.

Hell, I'd be happy with more of the graphic novels, especially how the last one left the story hanging.

Brief (fan-made) cartoon teaser over here.

Shiny.

Also new 6-issue comic series coming in Sept. No power in the 'verse.

Put it on my subscription list already.

So you are saying theres a chance...

I would love more Firefly, but I doubt this is something that would actually happen.

And we're all hoping like...

"Reboot"?

Only if it is written and produced by the people responsible for The Expanse.

We already have a Firefly reboot. It's called Killjoys. Added bonus, no Adam Baldwin or Summer Glau. Downside, no Gina Torres or Jewel Staite.

Spoiler:

I'm only partly trolling.

Let's just ask Disney to buy the license, they've been doing a decent job with starwars that's both familiar yet new.

I really like that show! Very few people seem to be aware of it though.

I thought the first episode was okay, and definitely did get a Firefly vibe from it.
