Vermintide 1 + 2

That's almost funny. You wear it so you'll have a 6% better chance to open a chest that'll give you 2x chance to get a loot die that'll give you 1/6 better chance at getting the next better item?

running 6% faster != 6% higher chance of opening the chest before the pubbie.

but yeah. Also there's some subtle stuff going on with dodge distances that I want to try out.

Stop playing with pubbies?
What time are you normally on?

I usually start between 9pm and 10pm pacific time.

PS - Red Sword and Dagger on the quest list today! This is considered one of the few reds that are better than oranges.

People should find the curse chat server, or find Emmes, SirDodger, NublovesCake, or me we all play later in the evening pacific time. For the most part you can find higher level pubbies on the NM difficulty and they aren't too terrible to play with. What i don't get is when i get a lvl 1-14 pubbie that joins my nightmare game and just herp derps over everything or i join an in progress game to come in knocked out or dead and they're still herping all over everything.

ITS OKAY TO LEARN ON EASY AND NORMAL PLAY THERE FOR A WHILE!!!! at least get your 2nd trinket and some blue gear that has some decent traits

This makes me sad. Aside from Dakhath, I think all of the more experienced GWJers are on Pacific time. As a right coaster who has to get up at 5am for work, this really limits my reps with you guys. Though, Wednesday night was a lot of fun, if a tad frustrating from repeated failures. Unconscious dwarves are heavy when you've got to carry them in your backpack. I'm hoping I'll be able to catch up with y'all over weekends (or occasional week night when I don't have a stupid early meeting the next day), when only my SO cares if I stay up until when I usually wake up.

No worries about the failures, the main challenge was that I think we had two people relatively new to nightmare, and it kept going pear-shaped at the tank. Just needed it to spawn once when we weren't in the middle of a climbing puzzle, with no horde, and it would have been fine.

Dr. Awkward hasn't been on much lately for vermintide, but he's east coast.

Vermintide is back on sale, roughly $6 for the bundle.

I'm not sure how these lore pages work... I have to find 197 pages? Are they scattered around randomly?

Based on what I've read from beta:

Yep, they're just lying around on the maps. I heard they drop for everyone and you won't pick up duplicates.

Also, they're just lore, they don't impact gameplay.

so basically a balance/bug fix patch that was needed and some freebie goodies to keep us occupied while/if they work on more maps

They alternate free dlc with balance/bugfix and paid dlc with maps/weapons.

The free dlc has been responsible for the forge, shrine, and bounty board though, so it's not always just tweaking numbers.

Picked this up on the Humble, so I will be installing and hopping on this weekend. Most likely Sunday.

I just started playing this and I'm liking it so far. Playing with pubbies so far. Is there a GWJ server?

There is a Steam group, though nothing in particular is organized through it. If you're interested in playing with GWJers, drop in on the Curse chat room. Lately there seems to be 2-4 folks kicking around most weeknights, though the start time is typically pretty late as most people are on the west coast. People are usually around for at least 1-2 hours while everyone cleans up the daily contracts. We play without pubbies whenever we can, though if there are only 2 people we sometimes open the room up.

Yup yup. People usually start showing up about midnight eastern. We usually have 3 or 4, but we happily have broken into two groups when we had 5 or more.

If you show up earlier though, bush and disco might be happy to not go to bed at 2am every night and play earlier.

So I installed the Improved bot mod last night. Today, I can't get my computer to boot properly. I have no idea if the two are connected. But I will be spending the next while trying to figure out what's going on.

It's probably just an improved dwarf, witch, and elf in your computer. Seriously though, I hope it works out.

Actually the improved bots replace witch with Salty, thus far they are far more competent then the og bots and better than say a lvl 1 player about the same as lvl 50 and no better than anyone that i regularly play with

Improved Siennabot feels more competent to me than Saltzbot, and definitely better than improved discobot with the improved computer.

Saw this today...absolutely insane. I can't even imagine.

Anyone on xbox? Have a couple guys I am playing with and we would love to add another few in with us.

I picked this up on sale on PS4 and it has taken up all of my spare time. I've only been able to play with pubbies, don't see any Goodjers on PS4 playing this. Once it goes on sale on PC I will pick it up there.

Join us on PC :)... for those of you who don't troll the vermintide subredit user Grimlackt has mad a Quality of life mod that isn't cheaty but adds some great functionality.
Your Quality of Life

Thought I'd check in here since I've signed up to start playing the Xbox One edition with Sally, et al. Anything I should do to get myself ready for this game? Stuff to read up on, etc?

I know a bit about the Warhammer universe and am very curious to try out the Bright Wizard. How much importance does character choice play into the game?

Each of the characters does something very different. Well, the tanks are pretty much interchangeable, but the strikers are all different. They overlap somewhat, and they all can do a bit of everything, but each character has their speciality.

Still working on this one. I prefer to play the meat shield, usually, and my natural inclination for when the RO isn't paying attention to me is to punch it in the tailbone until it does. Which usually leads to my death, but I'm working on that.
