Yusss. I love Postmodern Jukebox. Haley is one talented lady.

When I took up the banjo I dreamed of converting The Kids Aren't All Right to bluegrass, but I never got good enough to make that happen.

American Ramen Noodles:

3) Maruchan
- Don't even bother trying to eat his.
2) Top Ramen
- Classic dish among stoners and college kids. It is cheap and plentiful.
1) Ichiban
- This is like gourmet eating compared to the other two, and will make you view the other noodles like rehydrated cardboard. If you like Top Ramen's insensitive "oriental" flavor, your mind will be blown by Ichiban's Original. Their chicken is also excellent, when compared to Top Ramen's chicken bullion flavor.

Yeah, but Maruchan is really cheap. Coincidentally, "Ichiban" translates to "number one" or "best".

I was gonna correct the person who put Strawberry Fields Forever at the top of the list for best Beatles song, then I listened to it ten times so I dunno.

I saw some Buffy the Vampire ranking going on.

Glory > Giles > Spike > Faith > Tara > Angel > Buffy > Anya > Cordelia> Oz > Xander > Willow > Riley > Dawn

My wife is exasperated at Glory being #1 and being on the list and being remembered. Apparently she doesn't count. She was a baddie, but she was so cool!

Glory was season five, right? The vain Goddess chick or whatnot?

Yeah she was one of the less interesting parts of that season. In fact, pretty much everything else in that season was interesting, but she was... a villain, I guess.

Still better than season four. Awful.

I still need to watch seasons six and seven, though I already know a bunch of people are down on season six.

I have a link that eventually leads to 6 or 7 hours of ranting about the abominable-ness of seasons 6 and 7, if only I could remember where I put it...

Edited for spoilers. I forget that not everyone has seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer. When I was watching I felt like the last person on earth to be late to the party. Now I see how a slip of the tongue shattered my momentum with Chrono Trigger, a game many assume most have played or at least read up on. My bad.

I found Glory the most interesting of all the villians. I loved her charismatic, psychotic nature. So sure of herself and her desires. I like her for the same reasons I appreciate (certain depictions of) The Joker.

Season five was one of the best. It buries four, six, and seven. Completely. It's better than the first. Ranking two, three, and five, is not as simple. I love them all. Glory was the antagonist providing something for everyone else to work off, against, for. The actress, Clare Kramer, made every scene count in her limited run of twelve, or thirteen episodes. Good writing, yes, but it was also a well acted role.

Spoiler:

The entire cast came together to defeat Glory. The ultimate showdown. Buffy sacrifices everything. Giles kills an innocent. All to put an end to Glory. It created a great end point for everything if the show had stopped there. Glory was no small part role in this.

Different strokes and all that, but remove Glory and season five becomes much more dull, in my opinion. Willow has no reason to become interesting for five minutes as Glory does not take Tara's sanity. Dawn, with subtle foreshadowing for a few seasons, may well have still came to be, just with less crucial a purpose. Spike does not gain some redemption by refusing to give up the knowledge that Dawn is the key, as Glory would not be there to torture him. We'd have been left with some kissing between Xander and Anya, some more kissing between Willow and Tara, and a few horrific moments of Buffy and Riley. Ben is also tethered to Glory.

This leaves Joyce's death as an intriguing yet sorrowful event from season five.

Brownie points to Glory for having a mission to remove Dawn from existence once more, and for almost succeeding.

This reminds me that the final two seasons of Angel are still awaiting viewing.

Wait. Ben is Glory?

Do we suspect there is some connection between Ben and Glory?

(I hope Shop doesn't read this, we're in the middle of watching S5 and that's one of the best parts.)

I like Buffy S5, and I like the concept of Glory, but I think the actress can't handle the material well. The worst aspect is when she's supposed to be losing her sanity and it's indicated by jump cuts and her saying random stuff. The show has had much better depictions of people going unhinged than that!

In terms of Big Bads, I like the Mayor.

S4 is a little uneven but S5 is so good.

For me Basmati and Jasmine can share top billing.

Great character. I loved his interactions with Faith.

Also. I think it was you who said if we were to count (the show) Angel that Wesley would come out on top? I've only seen up to the closing stages of S3, and Wesley is one of my favourite characters at that stage. Cordelia grew a lot, too, so much more than her Buffy days. If Wes becomes anymore awesome in S4 and S5 I may develop Spike levels of bromance with the character.

'Salem's Lot

tl;dr
The Shining

Counterpoint: 'Salem's Lot

Are we taking movies or books?

And if we're talking movies, why isn't Running Man further up the list?

Also, if we're talking movies, which version of The Shining? The Nicholson one or the miniseries that was Stephen King's preferred adaptation?

I'm talking books. I think Aaron D. is also talking books, unless some movies/mini-series came out of which I am unaware. Also, he does not have Carrie (original) on it, so it is invalid as a ranking of movies/mini-series/TV things.

Make your ranking of King movies.
