I decided to just put a John Oliver clip in this thread and change the name and scope rather than start a separate thread for Oliver's stuff.
So just put any video stuff in here; Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Seth Green, etc.
Not sure how much of a stretch it is to put this link here, but;
I tuned out The Daily Show after Stewart left and only recently (post Trump election) did I start seeing Noah's clips on YouTube.
Freakonomics interviewed him some days ago.
Trevor Noah is actually a pretty smart man and I might tune in again based on this interview alone. I'm now quite interested in his point of view.
I just listened to his autobiography (it was free on Audible for a time). I really enjoyed it. We're almost the same age, but he's been through so much sh*t growing up as a mixed race person in South Africa during and immediately after Apartheid.
Wow. I love what he had to say about privilege:
... you know a lot of the time when you hear people having conversations about white privilege, male privilege and so on, I think sometimes what gets lost is with the word “privilege” comes the connotation of having a good time. You know, people go, “What privilege? I may be a white man but I’m poor. I may be a white man but I’m suffering.” And that is completely true. And sometimes I go, “Maybe in the labeling, it’s almost like it could have gone the other way and it’s like, is it a black disadvantage? Or is it a female disadvantage?” Because we cannot deny that there are certain handicaps that come with these certain labels you know that exist. If you look at the effects of what you’ve lived through in your life, you cannot deny that they compound. You cannot deny that they grow over time. So people who say things like, “Get over it, slavery’s done” or “Get over it, apartheid is over,” then I go, “You cannot get over it because it ending is merely the beginning of your journey.”
Calling out white privilege and male privilege has always felt a little off to me. I recognize that I had a very privileged life, but not every white cis het male has my advantages. It's not fair to paint everyone with the same brush. This is also probably the reason for some peoples' bordering-on-violent opposition to privilege labels. And on the flip side, people who are privileged don't just get to say "get over it."

It is actually quite atrocious.
These are from a French satirical news marionette show called Les Guignols. It's a bit like the Daily Show and Robot Chicken. With puppets. Also, half of the episodes are hosted by a Sylvester Stallone puppet for some bizarre reason. These clips are each about 30 seconds long and are from a fake movie trailer called "Very Bad Trump". You don't have to speak French to figure out what's going on. They're amazing. The last one is probably the best.
The artstyle reminds me too much of Genesis's Land of Confusion video, which freaked me out WAY TOO MUCH when I was 8yo.

Melissa McCarthy's Sean Spicer is transcendent. If they manage to get a really good Steve Bannon, they'll be set forever.
I thought Bannon's depiction last night was pretty spot on...
I'm really surprised that we haven't heard from Trump after the President Bannon and the desk bit.

Rosie's offering. Couldn't possibly top Melissa, though.

Rosie should also play Trump. Just to see the Twitters.
