Well, that's not ominous at all.

the force was with me (I knew I had to move fast!)

Indeed. Was just coming to post.

I'm digging the red font. It's... ominous.

Alright, let's have some wild speculationing on the title.

Who is the "Last" Jedi? Is Rey not a Jedi yet and is therefore Luke? Will Luke die and leave Rey as the last? Was Kylo the last true jedi before he turned?

What about Finn?!

If they're taking a page from the original trilogy, this entry will have a bleak ending for the protagonists.

Spoiler:

Luke is certainly going to die.

Jedi is singular and plural. He may currently be the last Jedi.

Maybe he'll end the Jedi and create something new that allows for emotion and sex.

This is my hope. It isn't a new one.

I wouldn't think "last" has to be taken in such a permanent context. Even if it is just for one second that there are no other Jedi, then he is the last Jedi. I mean this whole time after Yoda dies, Luke is the last Jedi.
Plus it could also be in the vein of the "last jedi" until... (Rey becomes one, or Kylo is redeemed)

Yeah Disney wants to milk this franchise for decades. I doubt we will be down to one again (assuming Luke was the only one left after Kylo's betrayal) anytime soon. We will need an epic multi bad guy (Knights of Ren) versus multiple jedi for Episode 9's big fight sequence.

Random thought... can Yoda be in this one as someone Luke has been talking to and learning from while away?

I hope he's been force-talking with the whole gang of schmucks including Yarael Poof and Yaddle

So this is the movie thread for the next 11 months? Cool.

Extended Universe always implied that a Jedi Knight graduates to Jedi Master when she or he is able to prepare their spirit in order to become one with the Force upon death (Exar Kun being an exception due to how he died and being stuck in one place). Then the prequels ruined that by saying that the only one to ever even succeed at Force ghosting a little bit was Qui-Gon Jinn and all he was able to do was yell at Anakin when he was rage-murdering Sand People. After that, the only others to Force ghost were Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, both of whom had decades to meditate in relative peace on how Qui-Gon lived his life. But then that was ruined by the Special Editions by first implying that Anakin's Force Ghost reverted in age to when he was still a Jedi and second by putting Padme as a Force Ghost when she had no power at all.

Seeing as Disney isn't completely abandoning things from the old EU, that's one thing I hope they retcon. That and Mara Jade. She was the bomb in Thrawn trilogy.

grrrrrr* edit isn't quote!

I'm an idiot.

Sorry, what is this Padme force ghost you refer to?

Don't make me post the picture.

But... it never happened.

Yeah no canon stuff only fan made Padme stuff is out there.

Did not know that. I just assumed it was true because of how effed up it sounds.

You had me worried that I missed something there.

Clone Wars Season 6 has an arc where Yoda learns about Force ghosting. In this it is presented as a novel idea and that Qui-Gon was the first to achieve it. At least as far as I remember it, I may have been a little bored and not paying close attention.
