Aw, man. I bought a rock from that company that's supposed to keep tigers away.

What the f*ck, Florida?

Ranked: Most Dangerous U.S. Metros for Pedestrians

The top 10 most dangerous metro regions for pedestrians were ranked as:

Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Fla.
Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville, Fla.
Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford, Fla.
Jacksonville, Fla.
Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach, Fla.
Lakeland-Winter Haven, Fla.
Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Fla.
Jackson, Miss.
Memphis, Tenn-Miss.-Ark.
North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla.

A lot of people from Florida must have moved to Jackson and Memphis.

I was born and raised in Memphis, and the last time I checked, the city of Memphis is only located in Tennessee ("Tenn"). Not also "Miss." and "Ark."

Aside from the obvious error of location in the article, I can, unfortunately, vouch for the danger of being a pedestrian in 90% of Memphis. Hell, being a driver in Memphis is dangerous most of the time. For totally f*cked-up reasons, I'm kind of thankful that I learned how to drive in Memphis, because if you can drive in Memphis and avoid being involved in a wreck, you can safely drive anywhere.

Most of Memphian drivers give zero f*cks.

The article very specifically denotes these as metro areas, not city limits.

Old people...

This isn't a surprise to anyone from there. The attitude and legal system are setup to be "If you're a pedestrian, it's your fault someone hit you with a car."

Old people, tourists, no safety or emissions checks, no vision test/check required until you're 80, in-person renewal only necessary every 16 years, skills tests given very rarely (and only for in-person renewal at that)...

No wonder our insurance is higher here.

I used to live in the Melbourne-Titusville metro area, and frequently visit the Orlando area, and there is nothing there to accommodate pedestrians at all. The busy roads, frequented by lost tourists and the elderly, generally have no sidewalks or even shoulders, and all stores and points of interest are far apart with giant parking lots. Going from there to New England was a pleasant shock.

I'm surprised they require insurance.

According to your profile, you're still at EPCOT.

I'm specifically at EPCOT Center which only exists in the past, and which is quite walkable

Yet another reason even an early and completely buggy implementation of automated cars is better than the crap we have today.

"What I want from God, I have already received — that’s his forgiveness, " Simmons said in his address. "What I am asking of our members is your prayers and your forgiveness.”

In response, the congregation stood and applauded for several minutes.

This guy's got game.

Seriously, should ask for some pre-forgiveness for future fornicating while you have them lapping it up.

This could be movie material.
