Razer Blade 2014 not charging

So i recently sold my razer blade 2014 on ebay and the guy is now complaining that it won't charge during high performance games and now it won't charge at all. I had the computer for two years and it would sometimes not charge during high performance games but i assumed this was due to over heating.

does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? if he has to return it to me it would put me in a huge bind. He already left me positive feedback so i guess I could go ahead and tell him that I said I don't accept returns but that somehow doesn't seem like the right thing to do.

I would guess a defective power supply...

did you ever have that problem with your blade 2014?

Nope... granted I never keep mine for more than a year

So I just got it back today from the guy. the laptop now holds no charge whatsoever so that if i even unplug the charge it shuts down. I opened it up and made sure the battery was still connected to the motherboard and it is. Can batteries really go bad over night like this? I don't understand how it can work perfectly fine before i ship it to him and then be defective the second he (the ebay buyer) gets it.

Does anyone have words of advice before i ship it off to razer and pay 200$ for repair?

Thanks,

oh secondly,

The newer razer blade 2016 model's power supply works with the 2014 blade. I tried to charge with that with no luck.

Could be an extreme temperature change affected it during shipping.. hard to say really.

You made sure it is the same serial number and the guy didn't do a switcharoo on you?

yeah i was pretty paranoid about that actually. It had all the same markings as mine though. like same scratches and missing screw off the bottom. It's not impossible but i doubt that he would be able to get all that in.

I've had many laptop batteries die that way. Currently 3 in our house have no battery whatsoever because their batteries failed. Most of the time it's from keeping them plugged in all of the time instead of allowing them to cycle.

I've also lost two laptop batteries in that way, and for likely the same reason. I have a tendency to use my laptops in places where it's easy to plug them in, so I do, and the battery never gets cycled and eventually just quits working.
