Happy Hump Day Survey!

Gaaaah, I cannot find a video clip of it, but in recent memory, gonna have to go with Better Luck Tomorrow. The entire film has this slow increase in tension leading up to it, and once it finally happens it's like a sort of gut punch. It leaves the rest of the film with this really heavy weight hanging above it, which is appropriate because it is no doubt the sort of cloud hanging over the heads of the characters.

For a bit more detail:

Spoiler:

Even the manner in which it happens is perfect, as it speaks to the "middle class Asian kids that want to be gangsters but don't know what they're doing" concept. It's a film about a lot of things, one of them being masculinity and the desire for control over one's own life, and it is in this scene that it is clear that these kids are absolutely clueless. That the ending is so open-ended (not ambiguous, but open-ended in regards to what happens next) is absolutely fitting.

Serious. Very, very serious.

With apologies to The Godfather and Scarface, this is just the first thing that came to mind

HAPPY HUMP DAY, courtesy of Mantid:

What are your favorite product or store parodies?

And.. this is not actually a parody. It's just a terrible, terrible, terrible ad for an actually quite decent BBQ place in Midtown NYC:

Can I post a fake ad for a real place? What about a real ad for a fake place? Does it have to be a fake ad for a fake thing? What if I didn't know it was fake when I saw it? What if it's not supposed to be funny? Also, I'm busy all day: can I post tomorrow morning even though it's not hump day?

Hard for me to think of things that aren't from SNL, so this is my first pick:

And I just have to post this one, which is a parody of...commercial...styles? I dunno but it fits, I say!

Since when do we care about rules around here?

Oddly enough, NBC doesn't have this on the SNL website, so here's the best version I could find:

A couple parodies in anime that have cracked me up:

And I swear, DiscoDriveby, I was not thinking of these when I suggested this question, but it has to be posted:

Can't find the video while at work, but if I could, I'd buy it for a dollar.

In this week's segment: A bunch of good SNL skits Americans can't watch unless they go to NBC or Hulu, and users in other countries will likely be screwed in their own special ways.

My nomination is Leevis 3 Legged Jeans. "A-leg-and-a-leg-and-a-leg!"

All the SNL suggestions and no one thought of the Super Bass-O-Matic?!

I don't feel this thread is fair. Some of us wait until the weekend to catch up on the forums.

I came across this one surfing for ideas and remember thinking this was SO SCANDALOUS as a kid

In Living Color Fashion Tampons! Couldn't find the clip, but it's at 8:10 in this episode so enjoy the theme song, fly girls, and some Fire Marshall Bill for old times sake.
