Portland, Oregon Meetups

That may work for me. I'm extremely tentative. Just started classes this week and still don't have a feel for how heavy a work load I'll be under. Plus, coordinating with the family schedule, etc.

I'll be doing my absolute best to make it, but it's not a sure thing. I'd really like to bring The Banner Saga Warbands, Iki: A Game of Edo Artisans, and New Bedford, so I can get some people to play them with me!

Looks like I'll be able to make it. I'll bring those three games I have and make sure I can teach them. I really want to play Banner Saga!

Terrific. Looking forward to seeing whoever can make it. I'll post address details shortly.

I'm in town, but I leave Friday for a month with family in Texas.

I'll be there on Sunday. Any need for appetizers or beverages?

If you'd like to bring something that would be great. I'll have an assortment of snacks and beverages.

Right now I think I see the following interested:
Myself
Druidpeak
TuffaloBuffalo
Scaphism

Others who chimed in earlier:
Aristophan (maybe)
Skylarhawk (maybe)
PirateBob (interested)

Sorry, I'm out for this weekend. Have fun everyone. ^_^

Boo. Sorry you can't make it.

I'm going to be in Texas starting Friday. Otherwise I'd be there.

Pretty sure I've only managed to meet up with both you and skylarhawk once through various things. Hopefully I'll get to see you guys at some point in the future.

Question to Rahmen: Do you have any board games you really want to play? I can bring the three new ones I have, and I plan on having them figured out to a teaching degree. I'm wondering if I should just bring one, though. There'll be limited time.

I'd probably pick Banner Saga as the one because I want to see what it's like, and it's also new and interesting. It's fairly involved, but it's coop, so it shouldn't be a stressful game where people have to worry too much.

At any rate, I won't be put out in any way if we don't get to play any of them.

It should get better once we're fully moved back. That won't be until December, but after that I'll be in Portland.

Cool! That reminds me, I know I met up with you at least twice over the past few years, not just the one time.

I'm planning on coming on Sunday. I can bring a game or two.

I'm still in as well. I can bring a few games that play 6 but I think it would help to pick the games in advance and limit our options.

I don't have any preferences on what gets played and always like trying new ones.

I have a few ones I can set out as well, the newest (to me) being Mysterium.

Looking forward to whoever can make it.

My address is 2234 SE Woodward St, Portland, 97202.
If it would help, drop me a PM (and maybe include your real name ) and I'll send you my cell phone number.

I'm fine with that if that's what other people want to do. I was just planning on bringing my 3 games and letting other people decide what to play. The games I was going to bring (no expansions) are

Iki: A Game of Edo Artisans (2-4 players and 60-90 minutes)

I've taught this game several times now and am pretty good at that, so if we are going to play any of the games I bring, this would probably be the best and go fairly smoothly. I think the max time would end up being 90 minutes. It would be better to play twice because you don't get a sense of how things go until you've run through it one time. It'd probably take 90-120 minutes to get through it twice.

Banner Saga Warbands: (1-4 players and 30-90 minutes)

This game is brand new, but it's complicated. There's a lot of setup involved. I plan on having it figured out well enough to teach, but we should only play it if people are feeling adventurous and want to try something new and interesting. It is a coop game, and I'm excited about that aspect.

New Bedford: The Game of Historic Whaling & Town Building (1-5 players)

This game is new to me. It should be relatively simple, and I plan on having it figured out well enough to teach.

I've played with a fair amount of different board game groups and while I can play fine with the types who want to just plow through board game after board game quickly and get impatient with downtime, I don't particularly enjoy that style of play. Personally, I'm the type of player who just wants to hang out and happen to play some games. So, I can do whatever.

Hope everyone survived the wind storm yesterday okay.
See you at 2pm today if you can make it.

I'm about to head out to in order to meet a friend for lunch, so I should make it there by 2. Totally not an issue, but is it alright to get there some time after 1? I dunno if you're busy or 2 was an arbitrary time, but I'll be finishing up lunch around 12:30-12:45, so it'd be possible to get to your place early. I was just planning on hanging out for a bit, but I figure I might as well ask.

I was busy yesterday, so regardless I'm just planning on going through rulebooks this morning/afternoon.

I'll be out of the house in the next 20 minutes or so, I'll stop to fill up a Growler on the way.

Thanks. See you in a bit.

Thanks Rahmen for hosting! I had a lot of fun!

Glad you could come. I had a good time as well. I'll look forward to doing it again soon.

Yeah, that was fun! Thanks for hosting.

Yes, thanks for hosting Rahmen and it wad fun playing games with you all. Looking forward to the next one whenever it happens.

Hey Portland people. I'll be in town for some training Feb 6-10. Should have free time Mon and Thurs evenings for sure. Maybe a little bit Tue-Wed, but not as much, and might be tired from the 9-5 training those middle days.

If anybody wants to meet up for dinner or something, would be cool. I may not have a car, thinking about doing Uber and using the free hotel shuttle for my training. But that's still in flux.

I'll be over in Hillsboro/Beaverton areas. Post some ideas here, or PM me if you want to hang out.

Cool! I should be able to do one of those days. That area isn't super easy for me to get to without a car but I'll figure something out. It'll be good to say hi.

I'm in town finally. Would love to see people.

Sounds like fun. I could possibly join in if it was earlier in the week, but I've got stuff Thursday onward. If it's in Beaverton/Hillsboro I'd probably drive and could possibly pick you up tuffalo.
