discussion of the town hall style debate Sunday night

*Apologies to Elton John but the title was just too good to pass up.

By next week I'm sure he'll have Clinton going to Gitmo on Day One or sentenced to hard labor building that wall.

Judging by his promoted Tweet, Donald seems to be convinced he won. For any other candidate I'd suspect that he was just talking up his performance, but with him I'm pretty sure he actually means it.

For reference, it's got a video clip that ends with his "Because you'd be in jail" line.

He even manages to fluff this easy line. He wants to put Clinton in prison, not jail.

Gaol.

Even worse; he wants to sentence her to transportation. To Australia.

So Cooper had to pin Trump down multiple times on whether he's actually treated women as he described in the leaked video.

Trump finally shoehorns a quick denial in the middle of an aimless sentence.

He can't keep his eyes open during the denial.

Literally in the same breath he changes the subject to America's safety.

It's like a trifecta of red flags to tell if somebody is lying if trifecta meant four.

That portion of the video here.

Quadf*ckta.

He hasn't told the truth so far, why should that answer be any different.

It's kind of amusing and depressing at the same time to read the NPR real-time debate fact checking. Pretty much every time Trump brings up a specific number about anything it is wrong.

Slightly less ambiguous than the comic for the last debate

I'm just gonna leave this here

...haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

And posted to his AMA from his regular Reddit account. I guess he really hasn't been paying attention to what women have been going through online.

And then he had a follow up response to all of dirt digging hard-hitting journalism.

“If you read the whole post on the Trayvon Martin tragedy you’ll see that I said based on what I read, which was the release from the D.O.J., the shooting was ruled as legally justified,” he wrote. “It was also an awful thing to happen. Just because it was legal does not mean it was right. I wish Trayvon were still alive.”

On his posts about Ms. Lawrence, he had this to say: “It was a joke in poor taste made from my former anonymity. I take full responsibility for saying it. I wholeheartedly apologize and wish I could do so to her directly.”

Now that he is the opposite of anonymous, Mr. Bone would like everyone to know something: “My message has been one about elevating the level of conversation, and if I want to hold our leaders accountable for their words then I must be accountable for mine.”

In a later email, Mr. Bone ended this long and strange week by saying that his insurance fraud comments had been a fabrication: “That was a made up story, and even in the story no documents were passed to law enforcement. They were used for employment.”

So he's trying to be a decent person, and is more gracious about it than just about everyone in the Republican primary.

I hope, for his sake, that he will be able to pass into obscurity once more.
