Portland, Oregon Meetups

Heya, I don't know why I hadn't looked for something like this a while ago. I'm over on the west side. Edge of Hillsboro and Beaverton and would love to get together, I'm at an SCA event 9-12 but I can try to make it to the next get together.

Edit I work at the lloyd center tower so I'm right by you every week *laughs*

Well, I think we'll continue the meetups, but if anyone wants to go to the retro gaming expo, let me know. I'll be there!

Cleaned up the OP a little.

Nicolai, you're very welcome to come late! It's very casual, and we usually have at least 4 people for board games, usually a few more.

Unfortunately we're going to be out of town until late Saturday, so we'll miss this one. We'll see you next time, though!

I've booked my ticket, so I'm going to be at the Retro Gaming Expo mid October too! I'd be happy to meet up with the rest of the crew that comes out.

Cool! We arrange something when it gets closer to the event.

Sweet. I'm bringing Lysias (unless he backs out on me) and potentially a couple non-GWJers. But it should be a fun time any way we slice it.

My brother and nephew might be there at some point too. We can probably plan a coffee meetup or a lunch or dinner meetup on one of the days and just wing hanging out otherwise. I'll be pretty flexible.

I had a good time at the last few of these I was able to attend. Any interest in trying to get another one together?

I'll be dealing with moving throughout January, so I won't be able to organize anything. I'm not really in any position to organize/host anything in December either. I might be able to attend something if someone else wants to put something together. I should have a cool Kickstarter game by early January: IKI: A Game of EDO Artisans I could bring. I also have Codenames now.

Edit: Portland Game Store would be a great place to meet up. It's a bit less crazy than Guardian Games.

Hey, not seeing a lot of activity here, any chance for a meetup soon?

Hey Nicolai! I moved out into the suburbs because rent is getting a little out of hand in downtown Portland. So, I can't organize anything at this point. I might be able to make a meetup if one gets organized, though. There's probably not a lot of people with the time to make that work. I work downtown near Lloyd Center, so if you're looking for a friendly chat to see what the deal with GWJ is and Portland in general (if you're new), let me know. My schedule is very flexible at lunch-time on weekdays. Just shoot me a PM.

I'd be interested but my next few weekends are booked and weekdays are not possible for me. Maybe something in June?

Fwiw there is a tabletop convention this weekend May 13: pdxage

Arise thread.

My wife was asking me when I was going to do board games again with those GamersWithJobs folks and offered we could do it at our house.

So, I'm gauging interest and then can suggest a date. I'm in Southeast Portland relatively close to where we met up at tuffalobuffalo's old apartment.

I'm interested but the next few weekends are already booked for me.

I'm thinking October at the earliest anyway

I'm busy with salmon fishing this month and probably into October a bit. I would really love to make something if I can because I have a couple new games to bring (Iki: A Game of Edo Artisans, New Bedford, and maybe Banner Saga). I might be able to make something in October.

Interested, but I do have lab on Saturdays. They're not always necessary, so I might be able to skip if things are light for that class.

Chalk me up as interested.

I'm interested as well. Throw up a date or two.

Cool. I'll check the calendar and post a few dates as options shortly.

I'll be back in Portland October 6th through the 14th. Would love to see people if possible. Otherwise I'll be back in town a couple months after that.

October is less free than I'd like it to be. I was hoping to leave the "something happens every weekend" of summer behind when fall arrived, and while I'm not feeling crushed, my hopes are fading.

Mark me as interested, and possibly available mid to late October.

Possibly interested as well.

In October the best dates currently are either Sunday the 16th or Saturday the 22nd.

Which of those work best for you all? (apologies in advance for anyone that can't make either of those). If they turn out to be bad for everyone, I'll look a little deeper.

Both the 16th and 22nd work for me.

The 16th would be better for me since it's a Sunday, and I'm less likely to be busy. I might be able to make either, though.

Thanks for letting me know what works for you.

Anyone else?

I'm not sure those dates play well with me, but I've got a six month old, so I'm probably not a good person to gauge a date around. Pick something that works for others, and if I can swing it I'll get myself there.

I may be able to make either of those dates.

Let's plan on Sunday October 16th. Would starting around 2pm work?
I'm in SE Portland near SE 21st and Division for reference. I'll post specific address info closer to the date.

That works for me!
