Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition - All Consoles - Who's playing

The console version does allow up to 4 player co-op on the same screen.

Was going to mention this. Best couch co-op game I have played in a long time. Mrs. Abu and I have put tons of hours into it. (I have hundreds of hours in on PC as well)

Ooh I just found this thread! Hadn't realized there was a console-specific one.

Another reason why the console version is nice is that unlike the PC version, you don't have to always be online to play and so you don't have to care if battle.net goes down or is updating or whatnot. Or even if your own internet goes out.

Plus, for those of us who aren't so concerned with multiplayer, seasons don't really matter. The 4th gen consoles get updated along with the PC version.

I kind of want the PC version as another choice, but I'd like the price to be a bit lower since I already have the console version, and I really, really, really want them to add controller functionality. It's so much nicer than all the constant clicking.

I've played the standard version of Diablo 3 off and on on the 360 since it was released (and am still playing it, actually), but only just this week upgraded to the Ultimate Evil edition, so now I'm enjoying seeing all the nifty changes while going through the normal campaign with my new Crusader.

I was so happy to find Rondal's Amulet as a legendary yesterday evening! (I think it was an amulet anyway.) It had a brief message from Marta in the description. So cute! I love those two! (It wasn't an upgrade, but I saved it in my stash for "nostalgia" purposes!)

I'm with you 100%. I don't need seasons, though I get why they exist.

I haven't played this in a while but agree, I actually prefer the console version to PC because I love using the controller. A downside to console is there are so many cheaters who have given themselves God-like abilities that it's not fun to play pubbie multiplayer.

Bekkilyn I've seen you on the XB1 several times and have been tempted to ask if I can join your game to run some rifts but I know you aren't a fan of multiplayer.

I ended up with a copy of this but got immediately annoyed that it was going to force me to play the story I've already played four hundred times on the PC.

Just let me play adventure mode damnit.

As someone who plays almost no multiplayer in my Diablo running, I would still say the seasons seem to be a significant pull vs just firing up the console version. I do like the controller better as control, but once I had finished the achievements, there was nothing to bring me back. However, every time a new season starts, I'm right back into it with a new character and having a blast.

I'm at 57% of achievements on console. I've got a long road to go until I wear out my welcome on it. I think I've gotten a hardcore character to level 10 and that's it. Long, long road ahead of me still.

After that, maybe I'll be interested in seasons, but I'll have to do it all over again on pc, no thank you. I need that controller support now, I can't go back.

The main point of interest for me with seasons is new loot.

Hardcore isn't that much of a pain as long as you keep the difficulty level low, but it is time consuming. The one that's going to take me forever is getting all six classes to 70. Right now I only have two: Crusader and Hardcore Barbarian. I have a Wizard somewhere in his 50s, the rest are in their teens or lower.

Oddly enough the one that took me longest was the lvl 70 legendary in every slot.

I guess I got lucky on that one, though it did take a few nights of rift grinding. I think the method I used was failing the initial test so I could start on GR0 or GR1. (can't remember which, it's been too long) I think the end boss always dropped a legendary, so I just kept running through them until I had all the gear I needed.

I was under the impression the new loot was making it to console after a delay. Are they no longer doing that?

Maybe? I dunno, I stopped playing the Console version when they broke the sorting filter on the blacksmith and never bothered to fix it.

FWIW, I think Diablo 3 on consoles is superb. The controller option itself sells the game.

It is superb, I totally agree. I just found the blacksmith filter problem very fury inducing.

Wow, I hadn't even noticed that problem. I need to revisit D3 after reading this thread.

I can't run rifts yet because I'm still working through the campaign for my initial character. I've completed the (non-expansion) campaign numerous times on the 360 but I decided not to transfer those characters over to the XB1 as I'm still playing them and working on 360 achievements. Once I get to adventure mode though and figure out some stuff, I probably wouldn't mind trying out a bit of multiplayer rift running and see how it goes. I'll let you know once I reach that point!

Sounds good! Give me a shout if you want to run around, my paragon level isn't too high and I keep meaning to come back to level up a couple other classes. I will have substantially more flexible gaming time starting in one week, yay!!

I'm playing a Crusader who is Level 60, playing through story mode, currently at the start of Act V. Add me if you're keen

Dabbling in this again on Xbox One. What's the etiquette for joining other player's games? Should I message first?

Was waiting for someone else to answer this question as I have never played multiplayer in Diablo 3 or even on Xbox Live, but I would personally freak if someone just suddenly appeared in my game without any forewarning. Is it even possible?

If you're set to anything but Invite Only, it's possible. My personal etiquette is to send a message and then Party up before jumping into a game with someone else. Just in case they're running HC and hit a boss/elite pack.

I'm glad I hesitated joining your games then bekki! My wizard is very close to your level and so I was tempted!

Yeah, this is the best way to do it.

Hah!

Chances are good that if you did make it in, you wouldn't find me actually there. I tend to turn on the game, play a bit, go afk for half the day with the game running in pause, come back and play a bit more, etc. Sometimes I even just leave it on overnight.

Unfortunately it's never going to happen for D3. They tuned a lot of the game to make it work on consoles. Things like mob density and toughness was reworked to accommodate for the relative slowness and lack of accuracy on the gamepad.

I've played it on PC and PS4, and I vastly prefer using the gamepad as well. Here's hoping they do implement controllers for PC in D4!
