Titanfall 2 Catch-All

I was wondering about that.

Over lunch I watched a youtube of MassiveG playing in the beta. It definitely makes me want to play more right now.

I had more fun with the game after they made the changes so I'll be picking this up on PC. I just hope they have the nuclear detonation perk for the titans from the first one. I was really missing that in this tech test.

i'll definitely get the game, but may wait and see first. I have too many other games to play at the moment and honestly i dont trust them to do well for the PC version.

I'm cautiously optimistic. The first one ran flawlessly for me. I think it's still running on the Source engine so that gives me a little hope.

Game ran fine but their server set up and matchmaking was atrocious. Consoles had a much better set up than PC did.

They added more recoil but like i mentioned they didnt fix having the ability to have 100% uptime on boosted weapons.

So TTK is still much lower than before. Basically it becomes a game of who sees who first because the only time you survive an encounter is if someone completely misses (it happens from time to time) or happens to need to reload in the middle of a confrontation.

edit:
changed higher to be lower :P

That's kind of how TF 1 was for me. It was rare that a "defender" won an exchange. Usually it would be due to a weapon selection imbalance between the parties.

Last night I was really wishing the beta was still on. Maybe I'll end up buying. XB1 if I do.

They got some Mechwarrior in my Titanfall!

Does anyone here still play the original Titanfall on PC? Or would be interested in getting a Curse group together sometime and playing? With the new one around the corner I really wanna get back into it but the player base has heavily waned.

I do! But I can't really do voicechat because of the situation I play games in. I was playing last night and just for the fun of it, I looked at modes other than Attrition. It was funnysad.

There was one person, one person, waiting to play 8v8 pilot only. There were four I think playing capture the flag.

I'd be up for some Titanfall.

Everytime i've tried to play that game since Jun of 15 i could never find a server with people on. It would just sit and spin trying to find a game.

Titanfall 2 is the first EA title to be excluded from EA Access. No getting the game early to try, and no 10% discounts on the game or DLC.

This makes me think they are afraid of what early access folks may say about the game before they stat selling it.

EA Access & Origin Access Will Not Allow Early Entry To Titanfall 2

The news comes via Gamereactor UK which EA contacted as a follow up to a previous question regarding Titanfall 2’s participation in EA Access and Origin Access. In the past fans would be able to play an upcoming EA title a few days earlier with EA/Origin Access Subscription and it would even offer a discount to the full game. However, it seems that given Titanfall 2 seems to be a cornerstone of EA’s holiday release, they don’t plan on anything for it.

Seems more likely a part of their contract with Respawn to me. If they didn't want people playing and talking about the game before release, the tech test probably wouldn't have happened.

The problem is more that it did happen, and the results, PR-wise, were not great. EA updated their EA Access terms to exclude Titanfall 2 on August 23rd. People had already preordered the game with the 10% discount.

No! Bad Respawn! Bad Respawn! No treat for you! Now go sit in the corner and think about what you did wrong.

Ya gotsta have a card game in your franchise nowadays though!

*shrug*, I registered but then I'm a sucker for card games, even if I only play them for a week apiece.

Looks like Attrition may not be a goner as presumed after the tech test. Dusty Welch from Respawn:

"“The tech test was a very small subset of the game,” Welch said. “We’re fans of playing [the original] Titanfall and all of its game modes, and just think people will have to wait to see what we provide next. Is that enough of a hint? But we’re all ears. I know the right people. I know the right guy. I know a guy and I think he’s listening.”"

PlayStation LifeStyle: Is it a little bit annoying to see comments (based on a tech test) as if it were the final product? Do you wanna just get in there and say ‘No, you don’t understand!’

Joel Emslie: I don’t know if it’s an annoyance, it’s more of like…it makes me scratch my head. You know, I think it’s more about…I wonder why they thought that. Like, I saw a headline that said we ignored our fans, absolutely, and didn’t listen to a word they said. I just was–

I'm of two sides of this. They definitely didnt listen to their fans in regards to the PC, but at the same time people just didnt pay attention to the fact that this was a couple of their newest maps and modes. Not all there is.

Yep, still looks fun!

I haven't followed this at all, but couldn't they end this by just announcing what game modes will be in the shipping product? I thought they already shared the number of maps.

Nothing is preventing them from ending the speculation this Respawn employee is referring to.

True but i suspect they wanted to highlight the single player portion and just the new multiplayer bits.

Attrition Mode:

Nice! Attrition is such a great replacement for TDM as a default game mode, I'm glad to see it return.

Pilot mode is true TDM, but Attrition is definitely a fun mode!

That map is much more like those I enjoyed in the original Titanfall.

So has anyone found a good deal on the PC version of this? Loved the first, want the second!

So pretty!
