Pushed to spring or something like that.

Ha. Ha. Ha.

Spoiler:

i laugh so I won't cry

Apparently this might have been delayed again? The last timeframe I saw was "Spring 2016", but EB Games is now advertising it for Summer 2016.

This on the heels of the whole Xbox store listing mix-up. What a mess.

Yeah, I feel if it was to be released in Spring, they'd have had a date for May by now. Of course, it could be June with an announcement at E3 or something. I think it as the multiplayer that they were having issue with? Which, honestly, I can't help but wonder if they'd do better pulling a Street Fighter V and delaying the online content and just giving people the single player for now.

All I ever wanted was a single player. Not a backer, so I can't complain too loudly, but my interest has definitely waned with time.

Yeah I was fairly excited by the initial screenshots and whatever when I thought it was just going to be a mega man style singleplayer game.

Then all that other stuff happened and at this point I've basically written it off.

Yea this. At this point I say release the core game and worry about patching in MP stuff later.

Yeah multiplayer is the problem. This project is a good lesson in why stretch goals can be really dangerous. Like I've previously said, I think this project is the main reason the stretch goals on Bloodstained were a lot less ambitious.

Anyways, as I understand it, the main reason it hasn't launched it yet is because some of the multiplayer components didn't get through certification. They don't want to launch SP-only and patch in MP later because that requires a second certification round. It also sounds like they're trying to launch on all platforms (Win/Mac/Linux/PS3/360/WiiU/3DS/Vita/PS4/XO) simultaneously, so if certification fails on one platform everyone gets delayed.

In case anyone's curious, there hasn't been anything sent out to backers yet about another delay. I was expecting to hear something last week since Infune was supposed to be in attendance at a Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 event but I don't think anything came of that. Summer 2016 seems like a fairly safe assessment at this point.

Your latest and greatest release date is June 21 for Asia and North America, June 24 everywhere else.*

Awfully crowded time to be releasing. Same day as No Man's Sky, week of Tokyo Mirage Sessions, week before Star Ocean and Zero Time Dilemma.

Oddly enough, I'd say No Man's Sky is the one least likely to be a part of the game's more expected demographic.

And Mighty No. 9 and No Man's Sky are the only 2 I am interested in.

I'm interested in all of them except NMS, but I'm not planning on buying any of them on day one, except maybe SMT#FE TMS#FE.

I am super curious about MN9 (though I did not contribute to the kickstarter) and I want it to be good, but I will definitely wait for reviews and the general consensus before I buy it.

No issue for me. I haven't heard of Tokyo Mirage Sessions or Zero Time Dilemma (both sound like handheld titles just based on their names and I don't do handhelds) and I don't own any of the platforms No Man's Sky is releasing on. That said I will believe it when I can download it for Mighty No. 9.

P.S. why is Number abbreviated to No.? There is no O in the word number.

I really don't see much overlap between MN9 and any of those games. Sure, 4 of those releases are out of Japan, but none of them are in the same genre.

It's a nod to the Mega Man Robot Master numbering:

The term is mainly used for playable or boss robots that either have "Man"/"Woman" in their name, bosses with a Special Weapon that can be obtained by the player, and robots that possess a unique known identification code, consisting of a two-letter "series code" followed by one of "N", "No.", or "#", then a three-digit "serial number".

I think he more meant why do we commonly abbreviate "number" to "no."

Want to see one of the worst video game trailers in years?

I don't... I don't even know if I care anymore. That trailer elicited zero excitement. I'm going to go play the X series instead.

Wow. That's an astonishingly bad trailer and it makes the game look bad.

You guys are being way too hard on a teenager's first Unity game.

...wait, that's not what this is?

Oh.

But I like awesome things that are awesome. Should I not like this?

Yeah, that was horrible.

I still can't believe there's a person, multiple people I assume, somewhere that watched that and all said "Yes, this seems right, let's put this on the internet for the world to see"

My thoughts exactly. I think I'm one of the many that have been dragged from being genuinely excited about this game to absolutely indifferent.

I can't think of a way to make that trailer worse. That's not phoning it in; that's going out of your way to make the game unappealing.

There was one thing that any trailer for that game needs to show and that's how it is the spiritual successor to MegaMan. That's it. Arm cannon, dash move, a robot boss battle. Done.

It's American accent narration with actual American slang. That's cool, dontchaknow?

I muted halfway through the trailer.

Seemed to be the right choice.

O-o

What the. I honestly have no idea who they're marketing that for. It's an E10 rating but they're dropping innuendo jokes and "friggin'" all over the place. This isn't Saint's Row 5 Deep Silver.

Jeez. I think they were trying to go for like a Deadpool thing with the voiceover. That is the only thing that even almost makes sense to me.

I thought the game was supposed to look different. Like 2D and good? That looked hideous.
