Batman: Arkham Knight Catch-All

Sorry for being a filthy skimmer...

There is a nice sale on Bundle Stars.

Is it still broken on PC?

p.s. I have an i7 and sli GTX680s if that helps.

I would recommend you skipping this deal. While it has had major updates and it's working a lot better for some people, there still seems to be others where performance is still bad or even worse, and there doesn't seem to be any reason. Also, the developers actually stated they aren't even trying to fix SLI performance issues anymore.

So, if I were you, I would wait to buy it on Steam directly sometime where you can easily refund it within 24 hours if you find yourself one of the unlucky people who can't run it well.

Seconded. Stick with a refundable source for this one. Just in case.

Just started this and I'm really not sure what to make of it. It's awesome but just as I'm getting into it the fun stops and I'm forced to play some kind of driving/tank sim and it sucks. Then it gets good again. Then it sucks again.

I felt the exact same. And those tank sequences over and over again...
It's worth it to stick with it.

Noooo! Not

Spoiler:

Oracle

So it's official that in July (don't recall the day) Batman: Return to Arkham Collection is landing on PS4 and Xbox One. It will have both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City plus all DLC, and will be ported over to Unreal Engine 4.

Arkham Origins was left out, and even though I wasn't fond of it when I played, I find that an awfully strong snub.

Agreed, but in fairness Origins was a different studio.

Then they should have called it the Rocksteady Collection.

I'll probably get the new collection. I wasn't much of a fan of Arkham City at all, but I'm excited about a remastered version of Arkham Asylum. (Although I still have loads to do in Arkham Knight.)

Same for me:-)

And the port is being handed off to a third-party Chinese studio, with Origins still being the same tech from what I remember. I don't think that's really much of an excuse aside from minimizing work load (after all, it's not like porting two games is going to be easy work, let alone three).

But since they did Arkham City, more than half the work for Arkham Origins is done! [/snark]

Rats. I waited years and was still too early when I bought my copy of Arkham Knight I guess.

Why's that?

I hope they going to manage to get the PC version of AK working well enough that I can buy it with confidence.

As much as I loved the prior Arkham games I just couldn't give them my money with that botched release and support.

I was under the impression they had stopped any further support for the PC version in terms of further patches?

I bought and played it. This game would have benefited from a great deal of editing and an increase in focus.

Instead, egregious Batmobile usage, a fear takedown which looks cool but doesn't really add to the experience of being Batman, a nonsense story, poorly written villains, less than stellar voice acting, and combat which was much harder to read than prior games (I beat AA, AC, and AO on their hardest difficulties including the never die in AO so I'm at least okay at the games).

The season pass keeps going on sale. I'm interested in the Batgirl story, but were any of the rest of the DLCs worth getting?

I actually liked all of the content and thought it was all worthwhile.

The Batgirl story was solid. I thought Catwoman's Revenge was pretty meh, everything else was skippable and not really worth money (I bought the complete version as it was all 50% off on Steam). The Red Hood DLC, Robin DLC, Nightwing DLC were brief so I guess if your time is worth every little bit of Batman then sure, otherwise eh. The Batgirl DLC was also the lengthiest, by far.

Also, one dlc adds a couple more villian hunts into the main game. Killer Croc was lame, but I liked the Mad Hatter and Ra's al Gaul stories.

The expansions missions were DLC? Then, yes, those also were decent. I like Mr. Freeze, Ra's al Goul, and probably one of the other ones.

Yeah, Season of Infamy. Haven't reached the right point in the game to do Freeze

Anyone have any advice on how to beat the campaign for disarmament quest at Dresher?

I've fully upgraded the cars weapons and armour but can't get past the seemingly unending waves of drones.

I remember that being difficult and taking quite a while. I don't have any tips outside of keep moving and master the use of dodge to evade the oncoming attacks, mix-up your weapons so you keep enemies on the defensive. Also, I am not sure what control scheme you are using, but check out the controls, I switched the controls for the Batmobile, because it was too difficult for me to move and strafe and then go into attack mode. Though as far as you are in the game, that may do more harm than good.

Arise thread! I just started playing this game. I have played all the previous Batman games, but this was on the back-burner for a while whilst I worked through a lot of other open world games.

I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. I really like how they've worked the Joker in at every turn. I keep just turning around and there he is, in the most random places. Love it.

I'm having no performance issues or problems in general but... I do have a year old computer with a 1080GTX so, I'm not exactly scraping the minimum specs (in fact, I think I exceed the ULTRA specs)... in any case, I'm in for the Season Pass so I've got so much content to churn through.

I shall return once I've made some progress...

Good luck and have fun

I've been re-playing the Arkham series (well, not origins), after buying the Return to Arkham bundle for PS4. Not gotten to Knight yet, but I'm definitely enjoying getting back into these games.

Thanks! And then...

74 hours later, it's all done. All the riddler trophies, 100% villains jailed, all the DLC stories.... what a ride. I never really get tired of this game and how they incorporate all the villains into a single story. I enjoyed the Joker's continual presence immensely.

I'm disappointed that Rocksteady is done with the series, but I'm sure Warner Bros isn't. I'm interested to see what's next....

Some of the DLC stories were underdeveloped vignettes, but I liked that each one had their own unique skillset. Especially Catwoman's ability to climb on the ceiling.

I didn't really do any of the AR challenges, but I did bring my challenge score up higher than my highest Steam friend's score (Silentsod, that's you). Felt like a good stopping point.
