Madden 16 Catch-All

I just finished up the Journey 3. Pretty easy except the last few, although I beat em all on the first try so they can't be that bad. I can't use this 95 Beasley because I don't want to lose my 70/90 ZD/MD style. I could sub him in I guess. Jay, let me know if you want to borrow him, I'll put him on the trade block. He has PR/RS dual styles.

What is his style? Honestly, I've been playing only Draft Champions at this point and I'm kind of considering just dismantling my team if I need the coins to keep playing.

Right on. He's a dual style, pass rush/run stuff. You're a draft addict man. Once I finish up my current head to head season I'll do some more DC. I'm sitting on a huge pile of coins so I'll buy some tickets.

I'm quite enjoying Franchise mode at the moment, most of my games are pretty close and I enjoy rebuilding a time. I changed xp sliders to some suggested ones so any old QB doesn't go from nobody to superstar quick.
In my first season as the Texans Hoyer thrown lots of interceptations so it's pretty realistic.
I drafted a rookie QB and RB, who are pretty decent so I traded away Foster to the Cowboys for a 1st Round pick and a 5th. Giving me 2 first round picks in the next draft. Love that aspect of franchise.

Do you play online against others with your team? I've been interested in it but I'm having trouble pulling myself away from the addiction of my ultimate team. Although it might be time to take a break because there's not much left I can do with my team without spending exponentially more coins. I'm also in the middle of a DC season too. Madden now owns my life.

I won my second DC championship yesterday with a team I might have willingly forfeited the two losses.

My offense was great, an 86 OVR with Christian Okoye running behind 4 drafted OL and a Ground and Pound scheme But it was a slow way to score, although I did get a couple of 40 yard TD runs after Okoye would break a few tackles, as opponents were bringing in those safeties.

But I only had 5 drafted defensive players (out of 15), and no DL. I had 3 CBs and 2 LBs. I was not hard to run on, and QBs had all day to throw.

But so many online players fail to see the big picture, and one mistake was going to cost them the game because I could grind out long drives at will. I never use the chew clock setting until after the 2 minute warning, but the run game is killer in short quarters.

I did have a kid flip out because in a 17-17 game, I drove into FG range and then chewed the clock. With over a minute left he began trying to let me score, so I stopped at the 1 yard line, and then used the QB kneel to run the clock down and kick the Winning FG. He flipped out at how cheap that was.

But those championships pay off. My Legends pack was not great, but I got 7K in coins and 7 DC badges (I need 200) toward an elite player. I imagine I will get another 4-5K coins selling players from the Legend packs, and 18K from the Legend badge included. Not bad for a 9K entry.

And the games have been close and competitive. I've actually made some friends. This mode is the closest thing to our old 2K8 football league.

Still playing my franchise (3rd season now and in answer to an earlier question, it's just me playing)
Playing on All Pro. In the playoffs, having a terrible game and then my rookie kick returner takes it to the house and I go on to win 22-21.
In the Super Bowl now but not going to play it just yet.

Nice play. Did you win your SB?

Yeah I won, beat Carolina 27-10. I like the fact I can get a season done in a short amount of time and the drafting of rookies is fun. Makes me miss GWJ leagues from a good few years back.

I do like draft champions though. Be fun to play against one of you guys at some point, clearly time zone would be a factor though!

If you're on XB1, add me. DedicatedListnr.

I get a bit frustrated w/ DC sometimes because it seems like even moreso than MUT seasons people tend to spam the same plays over and over and get cheap wins. I'm assuming this is people grinding it for badges?

Ranked salary cap mode coming to MUT. This sounds amazing. Levels the playing field like DC but you can use your own cards. Can't wait to try it.

I just sold off my 89 OVR team. I'm sitting with around 800K, as card values have really dropped. I bet I would be close to 2 million had I done this sooner.

I hope I didn't screw myself with the upcoming mode. But this is a perfect way to breathe life into MUT. I had pretty much abandoned it for Draft Champions, which is why I old off my team, to use the coins to play DC.

It makes sense, as you win packs for playing DC, so I sell the cards to earn coins to buy into more DC games. But that requires a healthy MUT community. I'm only selling, not buying cards.

I guess I need to buy back some cards now, as I expect prices will go back up. My current MUT team is now just 72 OVR.

Really can't wait to try this out.

Prices won't go back up. More golden tickets and ultimate legends hitting the market every week = more packs getting pulled = more players you and I can afford flooding the market. I am actually thinking about trying to sell off my 95 overall team before the market dips tomorrow and getting back into it when the patch hits.

So I made a clip. This is from the new Salary Cap MUT mode, which is awesome.

Your right, prices have really stayed low. I used my reserves to buy up a bunch of Chiefs players to build round for my new Salary Cap MUT team. I then went and build up a pretty good 87 OVR team with styles points of 90 in Run Stuffing and 80 in Ground and Pound.

I think the cap numbers on players are a little low. I'd like more hard decisions when building a team.

Okay, I'm getting lonely over in the new Madden 17 thread. EA is dropping a ton of info, and it looks like they are enhancing theme in some really smart ways, while keeping the base gameplay.
