Black Desert

Been steadily churning out ferries which seem to sell well with island explorers. Anyone found much of a market for ship accessories, I dabble with pushing out the wagon mods, which don't seem to sell too well currently?

I planned on maxing out Alchemy when I started playing the game, but I didn't see a point in it since there was not much Alchemy had to offer until this expansion, so I may pick it up again.

I'd say that Heidel seems like a location close to some of the basic Alchemy material nodes, like Silver Azaleas and Sunrise Herbs plus a few mushroom types. Also, the new region may have extra nodes for Alchemy too and Heidel is somewhat centered in the map so it's probably worth checking out.

Use this map tool and the Node Calculation button and you can connect the nodes you want and see how much contribution points you will need.

I'm currently set up in Calpheon, since I mostly just collect Birch, Fir and Cedar around the area, process it into Plywood and ship it to Trent, where I have a worker build the Calpheon wood boxes and transfer that to Velia to sell to the trader there for maximum distance bonus. It works out all right as a semi passive way of making silver.

I'm still set up at Elphian Port from crafting my boat. I've left all my workers gathering, but wanted to start shifting everything south down to Trent as well. Being 50 i'll be spending most my time down that way getting setup and getting closer to 51 before heading east to the new lands.

Black Desert is planning to have major content updates in April, May and June to add in new classes, Valencia and Awakening.

According to a recent Korean press conference, Daum has released their update schedule for NA/EU version of Black Desert Online.

Blader/Plum arriving in April
Two more classes to be released in May
Valencia and Awakening update to be released in June.
Information taken from this thread on the official forums. It is translated from korean.

So Daum EU recently held press conference regarding Black Desert EU/NA launch and they laid out future plan for NA/EU.

So i have over 4k of birch that needs to be processed and over 2k of copper and tin.

Even with all my alts processing it will take forever...

mods dont seem to sell well at all. I looked into and dont see much of it moving at all on the AH. That or it's moving super fast I broke my port side nodes down. Going to start on just processing wood and shipping into Mediah and some alchemy.

Agreed re: the mods.

On a related note many folks have missed one jewel within the multistage assembly process; the fact you don't need to have materials at the point of assembly. For example, if my wagon has parallel stages for ingots, plywood etc, they can be done anywhere and magically come together without you needing to transport assemblies around; as long as the materials exist in the warehouse that the worker you assign to them has as its home, that step can be performed remotely. So all those workers you had left in Glish doing nothing .... yep, they can make boats via the Elphian shipyard even though Glish is landlocked

I spent all afternoon yesterday exploring Mediah. If you plan on doing that, I suggest doing so with a full pool of Energy available, because there is so much Knowledge you can unlock by spending energy, it's crazy. I went form 147 to 169 energy cap yesterday and I'm still not done.

Also, most mobs hit for a lot more and take longer to die in Mediah. Having +15 weapon and at least +10 armor will help a lot. It was kinda fun though, grinding the mobs in the old camp around Calpheon was a cake walk, no challenge at all, now in Mediah I have to watch and dodge stuff a lot more. At least that has been my experience as a Valkyrie.

Very happy with the patch so far, there's lots to do, the new area is cool, new dailies, new gear, more grinding areas... And hopefully Blader/Plum in a couple weeks!

I plan on exploring tonight, but dont plan on grinding much past the first quest hub. Been told that unless your 51 and/or +15 you'll have issues. Still apparently that's the best place to get Grunil armor!

Yeah, I got a few Grunil pieces from killing some random stuff, I guess it has a chance to drop from almost anywhere on Mediah.

I haven't switched to Grunil yet. If I did that, even if I could enchant everything to the levels of my current Agerian set, I'd be missing all the Crystals to make it at least on par with what I have. I'll just save everything and switch a couple weeks from now.

Oh and I killed 2 bosses from the new guild missions. It's not that hard and it has a chance of dropping Grunil (I got boots there last night), Crystals, Seals, Blackstones and someone in the guild got a Liverto weapon too. Really worth it for a 15min event.

j

how many and what level ranges did it take to down the guild bosses?

We had maybe 30 people or so? I'm not even sure, but they were all at least level 50. It's not too hard really.

PS: Also, there are different missions with smaller and easier bosses for less people. The ones I did with the guild were Medium, recommended for 20 players and Large for 30+ players.

What is a good way to make money so I can pay the 3000 gold for my first worker? I really want to try my hand at this trading stuff but I am very very short on cash to actually do it.

I prefer to fish. Even without a hotspot or special fishing advice, if you toss a line in the nearest body of water you'll get 3000 gold in no time. Be sure to have a node invested where you fish, turn in at a connected town.

I had been trying to get fishing started but isn't there a quest you have to do beforehand?

Naw just go near the docks in Velia and talk to the little sloth man and buy a pole. There are a bunch of quests, but they aren't required.

edit: What's your in-game name? I'll make you a friend. Can probably help tomorrow.

Eastwardflea2 is my character name if that is what you need

I think I sent you a friend request.

Ok I'll check when I get back on I'm playing another game at the moment.

I tend to park a toon on the beach near Olvia during the day, just need to unlock the Olvia's Coast node (you can find the node manager ENE of Olvia on the coast, and a handy fishing otter once you have the node unlocked lives due north of town on the beach and will supply you rods). Tends to be pretty quiet and uncontested, so AFK fishing with the even the cheapest rod and just as a beginner can net 150-200k in a couple of hours there; take your fish to Lolly, then continue on, while your main is off wherever in the world

If you swim out neat the coastal caves near Velia you'll find a huge number of boats around a fishing hotspot. It's so popular you could really just climb on some strangers boat to fish the blue and gold fish.

Or just buy one of my boats from the marketplace!

So did my first set of boss runs tonight. No high end gear but i started the n ight off with 3/3 of armor/weapon black stones and ended up with 15/16 along with 4 high end crystals and 59 hunter seal's and 3 token of promise. Not to mention over a million in silver just from doing turn ins from the npc pieces.

Yeah, doing boss scrolls with a group is the best way to upgrade gear, imo. For those that don't know, just make sure you do them in a group, since you can get loot from other players scrolls and make the fights super quick.

a quick patch today. Primarily Server fix and Battleground fixes, but they also slipped in this gem!

The Auto-path looping feature has been enabled in-game.

Yay!

They're also giving us a combat xp boost because of this till Monday.

I'll try to grind as much as I can this weekend then, try to get to 55 or close to that.

Just did 2 runs of the guild boss in Mediah. No one got amazing loot. Few armor stones, tokens and 1g gold tokens.

This is probably the most enjoyable game I have played where I really don't know what the hell I am doing.

I feel the same way I just kind of mess around trying to figure out how to get the worker I bought to actually do some work and fish and I enjoy ever minute of it.

I believe I'm level 26 at this point with my wizard (maybe 27?). Same as you guys, no idea what the heck I'm doing but loving it.

I'm running around trying to capture tier 2 horses.

mwuahhaha got a male and female tier 2 horse now. Going to start a horse ranch in Heidel and level them up to breed myself a tier 3.
