Star Wars Rebels Catch-All

Damn what an awesome episode. This is why I can't stand normal TV shows. This show is great!

Wow great episode. As soon as Vader and Ahsoka started fighting I was like NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. So glad she survived. Lot of questions for next season. What a great show!

holy.

sh*t.

That was maybe the single greatest star wars thing I have ever seen.

I was happy as well. But I never have understood all the Ahsoka dislike.

Uncontrolled screaming and gibbering

Thanks for posting that, TB.

Amazing episode but what makes you think that Ahsoka survived? The bird at the end?

You can kinda see her outline walking back into the temple in the end montage. Doesn't mean she survived - that could perfectly well be a force ghost scenario, but.. it was there.

She was shown walking into a cave. She's alive. If she was supposed to be dead, they would have shown nothing.

But she's walking into a cave to recover... in the ruins of a sith temple. I don't think what comes out of there will be what came in.

In other news, where the hell is ventriss? That was her voice actor in the holocron but that character should still be alive somewhere. No way that was the character's voice coming out of that holocron.

Just watched the finale with my kids. So damn good. Just big goofy grins all around.

Ventress' fate is revealed through the Dark Disciples book. But not sure where it falls in the timeline.

What is up with that bird anyway? This is at least the second time we've seen it/them. The last time was on the planet their new base is on, where it seemed like the bird was able to control those giant spider things. Interstellar force owls?

I got a bit of a Bubo vibe from it - wonder if it's someone important's familiar?

Darth Maul survived being cut in half because of the Clone Wars. I have no trouble believing Asoka survived.

Finally got around to watching the past few episodes. Just going to echo how awesome it was. It's insane that after all these years of extended universe type stuff that we're getting something like this that's in canon. It's just amazing.

A star wars podcast with Freddy Prince Jr voice of Kanan. They are mainly talking about Rebels.

Wow. Didn't realize it was a full hour episode until about halfway through when they killed

Spoiler:

both inquisitors

Jeez.

That was fantastic all around.

As someone who hasn't seen the Clone Wars at all, was there some previous explanation there for

Spoiler:

Darth Maul

being alive?

Gather 'round the campfire, it's story time.

Spoiler:

After Maul got cut in half, he fell into a garbage chute and got loaded up and dumped off on a garbage planet, where he used the dark side to stay alive. He also completely lost his mind and ended up with some robot spider legs, until one of his "brothers" (another long story) found him and brought him home to Dathomir.

There, the Nightsisters (who are the powerful non-Sith Force users who gave him to the Sith in the first place) gave him a new set of regular robot legs and fixed his mind with the Force. Fully restored in body and mind, he and his brother Savage declared themselves the true Sith lords, and set out to take over Mandalore using a cadre of criminals that they had collected.

Sidious catches wind of this, and is absolutely furious that he would have to contend with some rival Sith. He travels to Mandalore, where he kills Savage, and totally rolls Maul in combat -- which results in Maul stuck in a prison. That's where The Clone Wars leave off.

After that, The Son of Dathomir comics adapt what was supposed to happen later in the The Clone Wars. Basically, Sidious uses Maul as bait to destroy the Nightsisters and crush Maul's spirit. Maul gets away in the end, but he has no resources and isn't really considered a threat any more.

I guess once the Inquisitors became a thing, the Empire set aside some of them to specifically chase Maul. Apparently his lightsaber in this episode was repurposed from one of the Inquisicopter ones.

I also want to say that even though the above storyline sounds kind of ridiculous, it's handled really well in the show.

She seemed like a Scrappy-Doo when first introduced, especially when some later episodes revolved entirely around what she was doing.

Ah, well I've seen Nightsisters and Savage in the Galaxy of Heroes phone game, with a lot of other clone wars people I didn't recognize. Cool.

Honestly, Clone Wars is a solid show. I actually enjoyed the first few seasons a lot because they made it seem like old war serials, but if you watch a few and aren't feeling it just know that each couple episodes is an arc and so you can skip an arc if it isn't doing it for you.

So, anyone think they have entrance game like Vader?

If that's not a straight-up McQuarrie quotation, it's a brilliant pastiche of his dramatic style.

I finally just got caught up. This was one of the best things.

And Ahsoka BETTER have survived. I freaking ADORE her. She's become one of my all-time favorite SW characters.

She does. You can see her in the ending montage walking back into the temple.

Now, what sort of shape she's in... that is another thing altogether.

They also had the actors who play Ezra, Kanan, and Ahsoka on their podcast.

Just saw a tweet from today's panel at Star Wars Celebration...

I am so super excited about this.

Also there's a full trailer now. Fairly spoilerish as trailers for whole seasons of TV tend to be if you want to avoid that, but I was too high on the announcement not to watch it.

While avoiding spoilers, was there any mention of when the next season starts?

Wait, what?

Spoiler:

Grand Admiral Thrawn is being kept in continuity? God I hope they don't just kill him off before the movies.
