Incidentally, I think the plum class will be called "musa" here -- if you look through the achievements there is one that gives a choice of class specific glasses as a reward, and you can see that one of the options is "musa." Hopefully the Blader will be called something a bit less silly too, like ronin or samurai.

Actually the male/female names for this is Musa/Maehwa. They do have a handful of difference one of the noticeable are the offhand weapons, but there's some tree's that are unique to each other.

Oh, interesting -- it looked to me like they were only offering the glasses for the female classes.

Don't both the samurai classes use short bows as an offhand? Maybe you're thinking of how the ninja and kunoichi can choose from two different offhands (kunai and shurikens) which each have different skill options, but the utility of those differing skills means that each gender has a defacto preferred offhand?

I found warrior and Valkyrie to be very different. I have each to mid 20s and I wanted to like both classes but right now they have been my least favorite of the 5 I am playing.

I got sorceress, wizard and ranger all into the 30s. I like all of them and have a hard time saying I like one over the other.

I have messed around with fishing, trading and crafting a bit. I have Olvia to Calpheon all connected.

The nice thing is I don't feel like I am at a disadvantage or behind.

I had no issues with getting kills since the game limits how much you can aggro and the areas are generally large.

I have yet to mess with farming or horse breeding.

So far I have found the game enjoyable.

It is certainly worth a free try if you can get it downloaded.

Only real complaint is I am paranoid how bad I am going to suck at PvP and my plan to find a large Zerg guild has been thwarted by the 100 member cap.

For anybody who wants a road map of gear and the like this link may be useful. Warning do not go here if you rather find your own way.

Got accepted into Haven last night (I applied through the website). Today, can barely talk and just about have no voice. So much for hanging out and chatting it up with people!

Correct i was getting the class sets confused, but the female versions of the Ninja and Blader have a couple trees that are unique to them. Where like you mentioned the Witch/Wizard are exactly the same.

Funny you should mention this. So i was just questing/farming giants and a Valkyrie jumps in and tries to kill the group of mobs i was clearing. Or so i thought till i ended up on my ass from her knocking me down. I preceded to stun her and blast her to just a sliver. I ran out of mana (and was out of potions) and apparently the mana drain spell doesnt work against players. So she was able to run away. I wasnt paying attention but had leveled from 44-46 in killing giants and was now a target.

Ranalin,
How is Haven seem to be working out? Are they a small or large group? Thinking of moving to Balenos instance and joining but wanted to see how the feel was.

I managed to get the game installed last night I played a few minutes I am liking the way the combat feel there are just a bunch of button combinations to remember. I want to get a little bit deeper in before I make a purchase but I am liking what I am playing so far

So far so good. Everyone jokes around and seems willing to help when someone asks. The guild size is 93/100 last i checked. Tsion originally said he was holding 15 spots for us, but i dont know how many of us migrated over. Still the bulk of the people i've seen online are 30 and below. There's like 6 people 50 or higher and about double that in the 45-49 range. I've not been hanging out on Discord much because i've been playing at weird hours, but seems to be someone on just about all hours.

If you're on Orwen server the instance's are just where to hang your hat so to speak. Nothing changes for you really except the people you play with.

I still haven't joined, mostly been distracted with other games so didn't want to take up a slot and then be inactive.

Same here; much as I think I would like being part of the Haven guild, I am not a very active BD player, nor am I likely to become one. I've thoroughly enjoyed all the time I've put into the game so far, and that even in spite of how utterly lost and/or confused I feel most of the time I'm playing. There's just something "right" about the game that makes it fun.

But my leisure time is moderately limited, and I have enough on my plate that I simply can't dedicate more substantial time to BD without losing time elsewhere.

I'm starting to think this game is actively conspiring against me. My internet connection dropped when I started the game. I restarted my computer and when I tried to boot it up again it said that the shortcut has been deleted or moved and it deleted the shortcut. So guess who has to reinstall all 31 Gigs of game for the 3rd time this week.

Tried that and it kept spitting out an error so maybe this time it will work out

Haven seems like a pretty good guild. More active than the first guild I jumped in to. I like how crazy powerful some of the abilities are. Casting lightning with the combo as Wizard is great as the earth shakes and explodes in front of you. There's some humour, I ran into a woman dressed as one of the local monsters that made me laugh. I appreciate the node contributions as a time invested and collection oriented thing. I like how it's more than just loot rates too, it's neat having it tied into your crafting manufacturing line you set up. Really having a good time and in no rush because it's pay to play instead of subscription based.

I ended up buying this game thanks again for the 7 day pass it really helped out. There are so many systems in the game and I really like how the game handles alts. I'm also a big fan of the combat with all the flashy combos. Is there a GWJ guild?

We joined up with "Haven", message Tsion, Litala, Zyria, Kiwii, Loruud, or Kahlanna.

No mention of Blader/Plum

Doubt we'll see the missing classes until post Valencia, entirely possible they'll wait and batch the localization for them to include the purported male archer variant.

Still disappointing because the other regions got the Blader with Mediah and then the Ninja with Valencia.

Agreed, the lack of those two in the west does seem such a miss - both standout classes that would have had a lot of appeal.

So in other discussions I'm reading there are folks saying that in the original Korean version, the Blader actually came a couple weeks after the Mediah update, and the plum a month or two after that. Of course, Russia and Japan may have got them together? In any case, one (or more) of the missing classes could still be coming very soon.

RU got the Blader with the update. I think JP did as well.

So, I've been playing this since launch and really enjoying it. I rolled originally on Edan but due to some server screw up, my characters and my whole guild actually got their chars saved on Orwen and we decided to stay there.

I'm surprised by how quickly they decided to launch Mediah! I'm happy for new content, but also a bit concerned that will increase the power gap between hardcore and more casual players a bit too fast. We'll see how that works out.

Also, on Russian servers, when Mediah came out, Blader/Plum were not included. Blader came out a few weeks after that and Plum even a bit later, so I expect to see them in a few weeks.

I thought I would have had more time to get +15 on my items before Mediah launched. If I knew it would happen so soon, I'd probably saved a lot of Black Stones for the new armor set.

Anyways, just dropped to say hi (I haven't posted here in a long time) and if you need help with boss scrolls or anything in game, my char name is Aleeni Malac, 51 Valkyrie.

Grats on 51!

It does feel early for the update.

As for RU and Mediah/Blader info. There's a LOT of youtube folks and people on the forums that have been saying the wrong things. Still if they drop within a couple weeks that's not bad. Will be enough time i hope to buff up the new armor set.

Apparently, they want to catch up NA/EU to the other regions as far as content goes, so we may start seeing these updates faster than expected.

I just hope they would hold the Awakening classes until all of them were introduced at the same time, to avoid too much balance issues like in other regions. I heard that they are focusing on finishing the last couple awakening classes in KR this year before moving forward with more actual content.

Still, free large content patches coming so fast! Not bad for a $30 game, I'm not going to complain too much about it.

So, patch notes are out and I'm surprised by a few things.

-Gear can't be enhanced past +15 yet. This is good, I was afraid of the power creep happening too early.
-There's a costume piece you can get through an event. Hopefully first of many.
-Berserkers got a nice damage buff.
-They introduced an Alchemy recipe that can mark players using a Gillie suit. That's pretty cool imo.

These take care of a few concerns I had with the game and with this new expansion in general. Now, to explore all the new content and rework my nodes to connect the new cities and resources!

KillTrash wrote:

speaking which... any recommendations on where to base your operations if you're doing alchemy?

-Gear can't be enhanced past +15 yet. This is good, I was afraid of the power creep happening too early.

Yeah, although word is that in other regions the additional enhancement was only a week or two behind the Mediah patch, so I wouldn't celebrate just yet. (Not that I have any conception of how bad the problem will be, since my highest level character is in the high 30s with a +6 weapon and +5 armor pieces.)

Speaking of potentially coming very soon patches, though, there apparently is an interview in Dutch or something with a Daum spokesperson saying Blader and Plum are targeted for mid April, which is excellent news.

I planned on maxing out Alchemy when I started playing the game, but I didn't see a point in it since there was not much Alchemy had to offer until this expansion, so I may pick it up again.

I'd say that Heidel seems like a location close to some of the basic Alchemy material nodes, like Silver Azaleas and Sunrise Herbs plus a few mushroom types. Also, the new region may have extra nodes for Alchemy too and Heidel is somewhat centered in the map so it's probably worth checking out.

Use this map tool and the Node Calculation button and you can connect the nodes you want and see how much contribution points you will need.

I'm currently set up in Calpheon, since I mostly just collect Birch, Fir and Cedar around the area, process it into Plywood and ship it to Trent, where I have a worker build the Calpheon wood boxes and transfer that to Velia to sell to the trader there for maximum distance bonus. It works out all right as a semi passive way of making silver.
