Black Desert

I finally hit beginner10 fishing and I'm crafting my third thick fishing rod. I leveled my tier 2 horse up again and started doing story quests once more. I'm going to try and do story and kill monsters until I gain a few levels so I can use lightning and the explosive combo. When my tier 2 horse is high enough level I'll go search for another tier 2 horse and level it up and then try to breed a tier 3. I might look into switching guilds and trying to hitch a ride on someones boat for fun.

The regular selling is rather clunky. You can do it via the sell page which is faster then doing it through the inventory. Still annoying to get warning every time that I could sell it on the market place for more. Which is true if anyone ever buy it. Which for a lot of stuff they won't.

Did go on the market and spend about 1.2 million on new gear. Probable didn't need to but I felt like it. Almost all of it was on the main armor. I'll see if it makes a difference.

I really wish we could select a bunch of different items at once then hit the sell button.

So... how far do I need to travel from Velia to find someplace where the fishing resources aren't completely exhausted?

I've never actually found a place that wasn't. I mean I haven't gone way out but I did go as far north as the island node then from there as far west as to be north of first town.

There was a small lake in the mountains southeast of Velia that was 'abundant' with no other players. If you look on your map you can just barely see it through the trees. It was quite serene, some nice waterfalls, no mobs, and no other people around.

I assume all this stuff varies between channels and servers as well. Does anyone know?

Player population will vary and where player population effects the environment that will vary too but I'm on Orwen-Cal 1, which is one of the most populated so if that fishing spot is empty on my server, it'll most likely be empty on them all.

This was last week though, granted servers were more populous then but there could have been an intervening reddit thread or youtube video that revealed its location.

That's a great spot, but during beta and the RU server it was always tapped out.

I've not been there for awhile but the Olvia Coast node area was decent, but when i was last there it was also getting crowded.

I recommend a boat The place i fish at rarely drops below Average, and if it does the timer resets back to Abundant in short order.

Theres a really close spot that's always abundant for me. Just go mostly east of Velia til you hit water. It's a short hike. You have to drop down off a cliff to fish there but few people do it. I usually just go out with my point until I'm in range of the first island's zone. I think that area has better fish. I caught one worth a 150k.

I have done a lot of fishing on the bridge outside of Glish, it has been abundant. Mostly you just want ancient relic shards to sell for 120kish each.

Lately to catch new fish if you go out of velia past the caves theres a really really small spot on a canyon rock node you can fish at. Ill have to edit this evening and can post the map locations.

How are you guys all feeling about the classes? I've only been playing my Valkyrie so far and am loving it but I'd like to start working on some alts. Thinking maybe the Tamer first since it seems drastically different from what I'm doing now.

Tamer is fun. Almost like a monk who gets a wolf. You have to jump and Dodge around a lot. I'm not good at combo moves though.

My two favorites now are the Wizard/Witch and the Zerker. I still like the Blader more than all, and still waiting for that and the Ninja to drop.

I'm playing a Valkyrie, but as soon as the Blader is available I'm switching to that one.

So about to try out a spot just north of the Coastal Caves. Apparently it's a 'hotspot' where there's rarely any junk caught and its only blue/gold fish. Even when it's exhausted. If you goto the node and walk to the rocks you'll see a island of boats there where people are fishing. I've parked mine there and see what happens. Looks promising because my first cast was a blue.

edit: first 4 casts 3 blues and 1 gold.

So i think i'm going to change over to the Haven guild. They seem so far to be a decent bunch. The GL was the one who told me about the fishing hotspot.

So tomorrow morning i'm going to leave the clan. Not sure if it stays in place with me gone or completely disbands.

To get invites to the guild talk to one of these people | Tsion | Kiwii | Loruud | Zyria | Crystalia | on the Balenos 01 instance. I've been talking to Tsion and he knows that there may be a few of us to join him and is ready for it.

Hope most of you make the switch and we can do the guild stuff together! Either way have most of you on my friends list so if you need help just whisper away.

I know Saerasx and I are up for joining Haven. I'll ask this evening.

Ive been fishing out near the red orcs, way west of Heidel. Always seems abundant and its an easy run to either Heidel or Gilsh. Got a lil shack and a guy who sells rods.

.

Thanks for doing the guild hunt Ranalin, I'll bounce on this weekend and try to apply to the new one.

That's a different instance, not a different server so we should our characters should be fine, right?

I hate to ask, but does anyone have a spare trial pass I could grab?

Correct nothing changes for our characters

Clan is now disbanded. Let me know if you have questions or issues signing up with Haven.

Thank you for handling all this ranalin. It's pretty cool now being in a large guild that does guild missions.

I dropped the guild I'm in, so I'll be ready to join Haven. Just need to get over my current Division addiction and then I'll be back

Alright wrapped up my 7 day guest pass for this game. Probable the most enjoyable mmo I've played in a long time but I think I've had my fill. Level 30 is good enough for me and the appeal of the game was starting to wane. That said it really was a fun trip. In lots of ways in reminds me of a more complex and better version of fantasy life for the 3ds. I would love to see some of the mechanics used in a single player game.

Joined Haven, everyone seems really nice so far. Spent some time just chatting in discord while fishing and got some of the mechanics of the game I didn't understand explained to me, really helpful and friendly group. Great work Ranalin!
